I dunno. According to my files they've been available through B&P all along. In fact, I bought 4 of each through B&P in 2019 (1.5 years ago), even though the last Technic set using them was from 2012.

Strange, I've tried to buy them from B&P and couldn't found them… maybe I'm blind

B&P does not seem to be stocking very fast. The vast majority of the new parts are still not available.

I know I've been gone awhile (we shall not talk about 2020), but I'm getting back into the flow. Got more parts for Christmas and a couple of weeks ago. That said, I wanted to get x873c01 (Steering Arm with 4 Ball Joints), but I get sticker shock all the time. 

I seen talked about on here about Aliexpress parts being knock off's, but I came across this listing on Brickowl. How is there that many "new" in the wild? I just seen this listing on Bricklink! 

Would these be real or clones?

This are Lego parts, but seller could keep them in sealed box or something (not used) and since there is some 10 years or more since they were produced; the same is with powepuller tires (that tires were 18 years ago last time in production)

I realize that, but that's a long time investment going on. However, with the bigger hubs now, the demand seems way lower now.

You're right. IMHO people are to much possessed with money and invent everything to make things collectible objects to gain more money. As time passes by it looks like in today's " liberal" world there is no value just price for everything

But new steering hub need least 5L height. Old hub only need least 3L height. With this, you can use smaller wheel with old hub.

With smaller wheel it is better to use those small hubs, where just axle fits, as that hub makes really bad steering.

That's the catch 22. Younger/newer moc makers will still use the new hubs till they find out they can buy the old hubs. Cause they seem content with the latest version of pieces, haven't heard of bricklink, and/or they post to non Eurobricks sites. And the older builders will have them already or build stuff that don't need them.

Hint: the second is better, as can be better secured (attached from up+down side rather one inner side), plus could be easily found in the modern sets.
Meanwhile the first is an old and rare part that is just quite expensive now.

Sadly no, because you would need a way to attach the steering to the balls which will take space.

Though I just realized that the steering solution in the Mustang (set 10265) has towballs at the same 3M distance as the old piece, but without using that piece.

Well, there are pros and cons to each. The old hubs are good on models where the steered wheels need to be driven, especially when ground clearance is important. The tiny hubs mentioned are especially handy in tight spaces, but make drive nearly impossible, and steering more challenging and imprecise.

There are plenty for sale on BL for just a few euros. That's not "very rare and expensive"

You can also find 8048 which has two of those steering hubs and the 3L rack usually for €20-€30

I have both, but they don't offer a tighter turn radius. So I just used the top one for now and will order the small driven hub soon.

Did anyone notice the new track pieces (69900)

I call them track with showspike

I wonder if they just mesh with sprockets or if its more of a chain and needs gears

Also they redesigned the axle hole with 4 bars (48723) so that its 1L thick now. The part number is 68888

And for wheel covers theres dish 4L  (65138) but it has yet to exist in more useful colors for technic

@SNIPE, these track pieces looks as pretty straight "new-big" caterpillars, so will need the sprockets, not the gears. Too bad that 71741 set comes with only two of these parts...
They act as the the parts for new-sized caterpillars, but with 1-stud width.

As for the new 4L dish, it looks as very promising wheel cover for 62.4 wheels.
