Risgrynsgrot Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hello guys! I have some more info (and remarks) 70791 Skull Warrior is a slenderlooking guy with a big bow made from the big curved bonepieces thats also used in for example queen beast 70792 Skull Slicer is also a rather slender guy, he doesnt have 4 legs but rather 4 arms, and swords in every hand! 70793 Skull basher on the other hand is more bulky, with Purple horns on his head and brandishing som kind of big warhammer/battleaxe! 70794 skull Scorpio is the only non-humanoid in this wave, hes got six legs and a big stinger. Imagine a scorpion made with ccbs and youll probably come pretty close. 70795 Mask Maker vs skull grinder sadly, the mask maker doesnt seem to have a hammer nor the mask of creation. However it has to be ekimu as he has a gold/trans light blue color Scheme. He is seen jumping or falling down towards the bad guy, who is really intimidating. Big, kopaka-sized atleast with a black/trans red color scheme. Hes got two different weapons, an axe and a sword it looks like. Interesting is his torso, looking like its a mix of black and trans red done similarily to the protectors mask. Quote
Shakar Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Bit of a surprise Ekimu doesn't have his hammer, but at this point I think he is wearing the famous gold/blue Protector mask and the MoCr is going to be shown on the box art as the "prize mask", like the "Golden Masks of POWAH" in the Toa sets. No idea of how he's going to fight though, hopefully the hammer is there but just hard to see. Aside from that odd thing, the sets sound way cool! Skull Slicer is quite the surprise, I wonder if all 4 arms work with gears.. Edited January 9, 2015 by Shakar Quote
Logan McOwen Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Very sorry for your situation. Can't help but think back to that old Piraka series on YT (sadly took down ages ago) where a backordered toa was a plot point for one of the episodes. Still, terrible situation. I was referencing the thread page number but ok Quote

Four arms instantly made me think of Samukai. This is not a bad thing. Skull Basher sounds like he'll live up to his namesake. A hammer would be a perfect weapon. Skull Scorpio: cool that we're getting a beast, but I hope it'll look different enough from HF's Scorpio. Mask Maker v. Skull Grinder is building up to be awesome. Though is it reall trans red and not the trans orange we got with LOSS? I'd really like some actual trans red. Ekimu not wearing the MoCr is a little saddening, but I guess I'm happy that it ups the chances we'll get the gold Protector mask. Or the MoCr could be included in the set like the Toa's golden masks from this wave. Quote
arc Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Updated nui jaga? dreams really do come true... These sound like they have potential, although I really hope we get the mask of Creation in that set, especially with how much it's being advertised. Quote

If it's the latter, I'll be really dissapointed. The lack of claws was what stopped HF's Scorpio from being a great set in my eyes, rather than a more-or-less normal one. I do like the sound of the Skull Slicer. We haven't had a four-armed set in ages. I think Waspix was the last one. And Skull Basher (the more alliterative Smasher sounds better IMO) could be great, especially if it used the Hulk torso armor. On the other hand, I really wonder what piece they'll use for the Skull Grinder. Judging by your description, you may have just misidentified two separate pieces to be one, although the alternative sounds very appealing. Any information regarding the colors of the Skull Scorpio? DuckBricks Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hem, I wonder how LEGO will do the four arms bit... It would be awesome if they all swung at the same time, although I imagine that the weight from the upper arms could cause them to flop down on the lower arms a bit after extended play... Quote

Dorek Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Y'know, the splash image is a lot less bamf when they're just sorta floating through the air... I mean, what's Kopaka kneeling on?? Quote

Happy to hear ekimu has his protector mask Are we still getting generous trans parts? Wait so his chest piece is a combination duel injection black and trans red. How interesting :D Edited January 9, 2015 by Rayskull Quote
Leewan Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) I think it's rather gonna be trans. fluore. redd. orange / Trans-Neon Orange rather than trans. red... Anyways, thanks for the details, Risgrynsgrot. Edited January 9, 2015 by Leewan Quote
Shakar Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I think it's rather gonna be trans. fluore. redd. orange / Trans-Neon Orange rather than trans. red... Anyways, thanks for the details, Risgrynsgrot. Much as I'd like to see trans red I agree tr. reddish orange is much more likely, especially since it seems we're getting red eyes (which are represented by tr. reddish orange, well, almost always). I think that colour is more suited to represent fire, but at least it goes well with black. I wonder if Risgrynsgrot can tell us anything more about the colours. It seems it goes like this: Warrior: ? Slicer: ? Basher: purple? Scorpio: ? (Please let it be dark tan) Grinder: black and tr. red/reddish orange Ekimu: tr. light blue and gold, as expected. Also, did you remember (Risgrynsgrot obviously) if the sets contained extra masks and/or Skull Spiders? I can see MM vs SG being a "race" set, as in "Who will get the powerful Mask of Creation first? The hero or the villain? You decide!". But I don't know about the others. Quote

Chro Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 No doubt they shall include baby Protectors for the Skull-chappies to fight. That's unlikely but it'd be fabulous Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Yeah, what will the skull villains fight? Perhaps some pets of the protectors, like mini ussals? Quote
Nekchir Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Yeah, what will the skull villains fight? Perhaps some pets of the protectors, like mini ussals? Toa Tahu. Quote
Mutant Orc Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Yeah, what will the skull villains fight? Perhaps some pets of the protectors, like mini ussals? The Toa's masks that have legs attached that crawl around and try and cling to their faces and control them. Quote
Shakar Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Each set contains a transparent version of the Toa masks. The Skull Grinder set includes two masks, a trans orange Hau and a trans light blue Akaku (since it's 5 sets for 6 masks). ...hey, I can dream. Edited January 9, 2015 by Shakar Quote
Karateduo1 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Since nobody has an idea about how LOSS fits in to this(I mean the skull spiders can easily be connected to the Summer sets, but LOSS is a bit out of place) My theory is that he is like a pet to skull grinder(think Nivawk) and the leader of the skull army(Skull Grinder?) gave him the Gold Skull Spider mask to control the scout force with the task of securing the Gold masks before the main troops arrived. Quote
Toa of Gallifrey Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I'm thinking there's gonna be multiple LOSSes and they're basically giant skull spiders that trade the ability to latch onto faces for sheer strength and possibly other powers. Quote
Karateduo1 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Did anybody notice that on Lego Shop they now have, "Power up packs" that sell the Toa and the Protector together? They are roughly the same price as buying them separately except for the Lewa pack which is more expensive . Quote
TheDesuComplex Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) My personal headcanon for now is that LoSS is a mutated Skull Spider and the true leader of the Skull Army, or the closest thing it has to a leader. Highly intelligent creature. The Summer Villains are examples of the rest of the Skull Army and they are all the 'dumb brute' type. The 'Golden Mask of the Skull Spiders' is needed to control the rest of the Skull Spider horde, and if say a Master steals it then they will be able to control all Skull Spiders (minus LoSS). Did anybody notice that on Lego Shop they now have, "Power up packs" that sell the Toa and the Protector together? They are roughly the same price as buying them separately except for the Lewa pack which is more expensive . That is very odd. I am hoping that is a pricing error. This would be nice if they were at a special price instead. Edited January 9, 2015 by TheDesuComplex Quote
Dorek Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Cool that they do that, although a bit sad that LOSS doesn't have anyone to combine with. Hopefully we see a Club Combiner for him down the line. Quote
