bitbang Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I am talking the fun little pieces you get in some sets. I have always loved the miniature cooking pieces and mugs. I would love to find a lot with nothing but this kind of stuff. I lost a lot of mine in a move a few years ago. Anyways, what is your favorite accessory/accessories? Quote
jodawill Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) I like cannons. I have dozens of them. Edited January 1, 2015 by jodawill Quote
Tariq j Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I've always loved the whip pieces we got in the Indiana Jones line. Quote
rollermonkey Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 The Sextant I was in the Navy for 20 years, and used one daily at sea and trained others in its use for most of that time. Quote
bitbang Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 I like cannons. I have dozens of them. Those are quite neat! I've always loved the whip pieces we got in the Indiana Jones line. I never got any of the sets my self but some cousins of mine had loads when they were younger. They are cool for being a basic accessory. I am hoping to get all their old sets to sort through if they didn't already donate them haha The Sextant I was in the Navy for 20 years, and used one daily at sea and trained others in its use for most of that time. I can't say I ever saw this piece but I didn't have any military sets. Nice piece though! Quote
rollermonkey Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Um, there are no military sets... I got my first one from Green Grocer, where it's used as part of a lamp fixture. It has been made in three colors and has been included in 38 sets ranging from Harry Potter to Pirates. Quote
welfycat Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Carrots! I'm not even sure why, but I really love the little carrot pieces, especially with the green stem pieces and then a piece to "plant" them into the ground. Farms are probably my favorite thing to make. Quote

I honestly didn't know about some of them till years later. I just recently got back into Legos a few years back. Carrots! TheLazyChicken Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 The arrows, I got some in the monster fighters mummy set. Quote
talos Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I have always liked the fireman helmets, the silver and gold versions. I have a whole bunch of them somewhere in my collection. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm now quite taken by the new hand saw included with the worker minifig from Series 13 of the collectable minifigs, not saying this is the best ever accessory……but I like it. Quote
Thomas_w Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 There are two that immediately came to my mind when I read this topic. The first is the trans-orange chainsaw that the Ice Planet guys had way back when and the second is the fancy pike/halberd thing that the dragon knights had. Both were very iconic bits of my childhood collection. Quote
alanyuppie Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I would say the blue car jack is my favorite accessory. Owned one from a <insert that tiresome argument> workshop set from the mid 90's, now I noticed it doesn't age so well, the hinged part seemed to discolor in a uneven manner and I fear it might snap into 2 anytime. Definedly one of my favorites too! That one and the red hand truck, I love these but never ever use them for some reason. Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 My favorite used to be the magnifying glass, I loved how it actually magnified things, but ever since the release of the stud shooters, I've been liking them more and more. I love accessories that actually function, which is why I agree with alanyuppie that the blue car jack is also really great and fun... I just recently got back into Legos a few years back. Don't want to be one of those grammar policemen, but just wanted to let you know that (to quote Mark Stafford) "Only sheep say legos." In other words, when pluralizing LEGO, you say "LEGO bricks," "LEGO sets" etc but never "Legos..." ;) Quote
ficbot Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I can always find uses for the handbags, sacks and purses :) I also plan to build a Lego Library when I get enough books for it :) Quote

Legogal Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 biting, We have all done it, so please don't feel that you are alone. Accessories are a tough call because there are so many wonderful ones. My favorites tend to be the rare white Duplo teapots and cooking pans/saucepans. Also the very rare white Duplo flower. As to system LEGO, the Friends' surfboard and bikes in azure or whatever are awfully sharp looking. And their purses are first class, too. Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Yeah I do that all the time when I type, my bad! Ha, I admit to doing so as well, no biggie :D Quote
HawkLord Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Printed tiles, like maps, newspapers, letters, etc. Just something cool about how much story they can present when used in MOCs and the like. Plus, I never had anything like that when I had Legos as a kid. Quote
