CM4Sci Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Someone on Brickset in MN said they found a box and took 30. There may be hope for CM4Sci! Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I just noticed that the Banshee is floating above her shelf on the checklist. Such a great little detail! Quote
AmperZand Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) Zombie fitness instructor, zombie skydiver and zombie circus ringmaster would probably be scraping the bottom of the barrel though. A zombie contortionist would be totally broken -literally! Edited September 2, 2015 by AmperZand Quote
rodiziorobs Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) Hit a Target last night and picked up a Mad Scientist and Spectre. I had also wanted a Plant Monster (and about a dozen more but, you know, $), unfortunately someone had cleaned them out, as that's the only fig I couldn't find. Scrib Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I raided four Walgreens in my area on Sunday and ended up with a complete set of 16 plus 27 extras. My local Target did not have any, when I asked they brought Simpsons S2 out from the back. Wal-Marts are starting to get them too. Just stopped by my local store today. They had an untouched endcap display (two aisles away from the Lego aisle, I might add), so I grabbed 6 more spares. And my Wal-Mart usually has a fairly terrible Lego selection. I now have all of S14 I think I'll need. Glad I could wrap it up quickly. My favorites are the Zombie Cheerleader and the Gargoyle. I think this is one of the strongest series so far. I don't mind themed series as long as they are done well, and Lego has hit the mark here. As for why the Gargoyle has short legs, I am guessing that this is supposed to simulate a crouching position. I'm no authority on gargoyles, but you normally don't see them standing bolt upright. We all know that articulation is not a minifigure's strong suit, and crouching is not something they do well at all. To achieve a proper crouched pose, Lego would have to introduce a newly molded lower half, and I suspect they would be loath to do so for an application such as this. Or he could just be a short gargoyle. I'm sure they exist :) Quote

I had also wanted a Plant Monster (and about a dozen more but, you know, $), unfortunately someone had cleaned them out, as that's the only fig I couldn't find. I accidentally ended up with 3 plant guys (I guess I thought I had 2....) But over the weekend (in Outland and WH Smiths) I picked up all but the Zombie business man, banshee, Witch, Mad Scientist and werewolf... got all the ones I was after plus some of the multiples I needed for my other half, who turned out to want a dozen plant guys, so my one mistake was okay! Have not even bothered to look yet in Norway as nothing ever seems to come out early here... might look tomorrow though.. Quote

obsidianheart Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Soooo. I went to a Target today at lunch, and asked if they had the new wave of CMF's. Employee disappears into the back and comes out with a case... of Simpsons Series 2. Then he gets mad that those aren't the ones I'm looking for and don't want to buy any. Quote
Jern92 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 No sign of these in Malaysia yet, except at Legoland. Hopefully they pop up soon Quote
Robert8 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) Zombie Unicorn Girl, Zombie Maraca Man, Zombie Robot, Zombie Zombie Cheerleader another vampire would be repetitive, unless it was a Nosferatu style, and we've seen plenty of witches Zombie vampire! No sign of these in Malaysia yet, except at Legoland. Hopefully they pop up soon These are available even in Malaysia now, CM4Sci :laugh_hard: Edited September 3, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
skelliesgang Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I went to my local Lego store this afternoon and it was pretty much picked through. Out of 20 some bags on display, Only mad scientists, zombie pirates, and monster rockers left. Sadness. I'll have to visit my other 2 locations later this weekend. Quote

SpiderSpaceman Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) I've been to 4 Walgreens and found 10 different figures (no banshee, z. businessman, z. cheerleader, werewolf, witch, or tiger girl). They only have about 12 out at a time, and none of them have wanted to scan. Gave in and went to my Wal-mart where I figured a full box'd be out, but nah. No rush I guess. But what is the "sold out" about? that's crummy. Edited September 3, 2015 by SpiderSpaceman Quote
Bricksnaps Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 With the SOLD OUT on S@H, notice that the description is tagged as 'Seasonal'. On the Series 13 and Simpsons, 'Seasonal' is not tagged. Could we be looking at a much smaller production run? Quote
sunhuntin Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 found today at farmers [new zealand] they are up at the counter, so i had a shorter feel than i normally would. felt for sure the vampire queen, scientist and warewolf. also felt one of the ones with the twisty tail/legs. also found and bought squarefoot, the only one i really wanted. will try and get the wacky witch for her cat, but not too worried. wouldnt mind getting tiger girl just for her hair. 8BrickMario Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Oh, please let them have prepared for this...I can't bear to not complete this series! Quote
obsidianheart Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Hmph. That would be the 3rd thing in as many days that I missed out on due to sell-outs. Sure. Quote
skelliesgang Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Yipes, that was a quick sellout. maybe I should check out my other Lego store today instead of waiting until the weekend... Quote
MAB Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I doubt they have gone for good. Maybe it is a plan - make people think they are going to be hard to find by limiting the initial distribution, then when they come in stock some people will buy way more than they would have otherwise done so they can sell them on at a profit based on their perception of the rarity. Scrib Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I might grab a couple more Specters and possibly another Spider Lady, but I'm content with six each of the Zombie Cheerleader and Gargoyle (independent of my display of the set of 16, of course). If these really do have a short production run, I'm glad my minifig paranoia drives me to snap up all I want from each new set ASAP. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 The Specter is really growing on me...I hope I'll be able to find him soon! Quote

Surely Seasonal is referring to the fact these are related to halloween (just not in name)... pretty sure Lego will be supplying these for a few months yet, why would they voluntarily lose all the sales related to Halloween that these CMFs seem to be targeted at? That said maybe I will check the stores on my way home to see if they are even out here yet and snap up a few of the Banshees, Spectres and Gargoyles... just to be safe :-) Quote
