Hi eurobricks!

Lately i've been working on the ranger spacecraft from the movie Interstellar. It's been quite interesting trying to come up with a version that would justify the fantastic design, and the fantastic movie. This is also quite often my own issue when building something based on movies, books, games etc. because many people have special relations to the subject at hand, and therefore it is not your own.. ;) But this being a rather new movie i just had to try.. I'm sure we will see many more fantastic renditions of this spacecraft in the near future!

I worked up and down the ship at least 10 times, with various techniques being evaluated and put to test. I wanted it to be playable without sacrificing the design.. It was tough, and the most of you who was seen the movie, or knows about the design of this spacecraft also knows which challenges lay ahead when trying to build this ship in bricks..

I ended up using SNOT-building for the main part of the hull which allowed for a more accurate shape leading up to the "wing section". The hull is actually not as V-shaped as mine, but i choose this option so the black wing section would get the curve that i was looking for.. In the end the optical illusion kinda justifies it all.. :)

Have a good one!
