Flipz Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 "I've got the Cerberus. Zed is all yours." Arthur casts Fragile at Cerberus until successful, then casts Ice at it. Regardless of the success of his Scroll actions, his final action of the Round will be to cast Ice at the Cerberus from the Back Row (unless it is already dead, in which case he will cast Darkness at Zed, Back Row). Quote
K-Nut Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) "Just like old times, eh Mister Emorith?" "So it would seem, Zed. Never thought back then that I'd have to take you down twice," He turns to his Ghosts. "Let's have a little fun here, shall we?" Althior sicks all of his ghosts on Zed, following with two Darkness Spells from the Back Row. Should Anyone trigger Zed's Special Skill, Lilly will use a remedy on Althior, who will (in turn) defeat Zed with his undead in the following round. Just so we can autoroll if it is necessary. Otherwise, she does nothing. Battle Order Undead Althior Arthur Alexis Lilly Edited March 29, 2015 by K-Nut Quote

K-Nut Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Althior: Staff of Supreme Necromancer Arthur: Weatherfax Broom, Elixir Alexis: Ziegfried Pointy Hat Althior grins. "Who's the Supreme Necromancer now?" He mutters as he inspects his new scepter. He looks to Lilly. "I think we're done here kid. You alright?" Quote
Flipz Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) Before Althior gathers up the loot, Arthur walks over to the three artifacts that were the only remains of his relatives' vanquished souls. The Weather Mage aims a taunting kick at Fahrenheit's hat. "Inferior Ziegfried my megablocks," he mutters. Returning to his party, Arthur gives 435 Gold to Althior and 105 Gold to Alexis. "You're all paid off, Le--I mean, Alexis. I hope...I hope that hunk of crystal brings you happiness...or at least, more happiness than I did." K-Nut Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Lilly should have +16 gold in her inventory. Althior rolls his eyes as Arthur talks to Alexis. "Still a sentimental little..." He mutters. Quote
Sandy Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 QM Note: And now for the exposition-heavy closure... Althior grins. "Who's the Supreme Necromancer now?" He mutters as he inspects his new scepter. He looks to Lilly. "I think we're done here kid. You alright?" Quickly turning away from yet another awkward situation of his own creation, Arthur turns his attention to Lilly, noting her less than enthusiastic response to her victory. He kneels down to her level. "What's wrong, Lilly? You seem...sad." "I just feel so STUPID! All this time I thought there was a boogieman in my dollhouse, when it was inside my mind all along. I don't believe great-grandfather really chose me because he thought I was powerful. He just knew I was the most gulbibble. Snooty and prim Princess Lillyliver, like Bluto used to call me..." Lilly's toy unicorn galloped to her and suddenly grew back in size. Everything was starting to go hazy and blurry. "You were fooled by Abraxas, just like your grandparents were before you. But unlike them, you resisted the archdemon's luring. You drove him away from your mind! If that isn't power, I do not know what is. You are the living proof that our family is not a puppet theater for the archdemon to play with, doomed to repeat past mistakes." "Thanks, Equestria. You're the best! But wait... our family?" "Don't you see? I am you. We are one and the same. That is why I will always be there for you, even if I no longer exist in the physical world. Now, it is time to wake up from this nightmare." All went white again, and the party found themselves back at the nursery of the Ziegfried Manor. They could tell it was morning by the sunlight seeping through the window and the ache in their backs and necks. Much to their surprise, they still carried everything they had found in the dreamscape. A bearded man Althior knew was Bluto Ziegfried, Lilly's brother, stood in front of them, along with the nanny, Morgan and Merlyn. "Welcome back, sis. I think I owe you an explanation." "How come? Was this your doing all along?!" "Err, kind of, but not exactly... Let me start from the beginning. When I was with B... the witch... I learned new things about myself. I am what is known as a Dreamweaver in the wizarding circles. I can see people's dreams and influence them. When I came back home..." Bluto turned to Althior and looked him in the eyes. "I don't think I ever thanked you for that, Mr Emorith, but thank you. Anyway, I immediately sensed something wrong in your dreams - a strange presence. I started to study your dreams, and the entity inside you noticed it. That's why it tried to contact you, but it was hiding behind so many locks in your mind that it could not get to you any more than I could get to it." "You're not making any sense to me, but go on." "Anyway, I did not want to worry you - Ethereth knows what the entity would have done to you if it had gotten desperate - so I made you think the voices were coming from your dollhouse. That is why there was one inside your mind - I build it there, to house all the locks. I also fed you the thought of calling Heroica for help, because I knew they were the only ones who could help you. Our parents... they would not have approved probing your mind, and I'm not sure they could have resisted great-grandfather Fahrenheit and our grandparents, which I now know were the entity manipulating you. Or more precisely, it was their souls, controlled by Abraxas like puppets." "Why did we have to be involved, then? I still have purple fur in my mouth!" "Yeah! I couldn't do anything but watch myself fight Lilly and these guys. Were we controlled by the archdemon as well?" "I certainly hope not! What if it is inside my mind now?!" "No, it was Lilly's subconsciousness that made you like that. You were never in any real physical harm, not as long as the archdemon's puppets were hiding. That's why I made Lilly wish you away as soon as you had helped her open her inner locks." "So you were the true puppetmaster all along! I'm just the weakling who everyone gets to use as they wish, is that so?!" "No, no, no! It was you who opened the locks, who conquered her fears and resisted the temptations of the corrupted souls! You are anything but weak." Bluto turned to the heroes. "You were there, you saw it all happen. Tell her!" K-Nut Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Althior looked to Bluto, keeping his mouth shut. He waited for him to stop speaking before turning to Lilly, "Look, Lilly. Everything you did in your mind; taking down Abraxas, fighting your fears, that was all you! If these inner demons were in your mind already, then Bluto did what he had to do." He looks to Bluto "What Bluto needs to understand is that these powers come with a cost. Getting into people's minds and coercing their actions? No matter how noble the cause, it's a risky procedure," He pauses, reflecting on what's happened. "Where exactly did you acquire these powers, Bluto?" "Also, Lilly, could I have Pink Ribbon back?" Sure, I hate her guts and I want to see her dead, but she was a good teacher. But I would never use them to my own advantage, you have to trust me! I'm not like her..." "Hey, did you tell them yet? "Reminds me a lot of how I was with Wren," Arthur remarks, "but both you and your sister are a lot stronger, a lot more selfless than I'll ever be." The Weather Mage turns his attention to Lilly once more. "Lilly Stella Primrose Ziegfried. You are by far one of the strongest people I know. Your skills are totally unmatched by anything I've ever seen, and you have an iron will to go with them. We may have helped you in battle, but ultimately it was you who rescued your cousins, you who faced your fears, you who resisted the temptations of Great Uncle Fahrenheit, Zed, and Sycamore. We Heroes have training and Artifacts and Medals of Glory--it's basically cheating. You had none of that, and still you held your own--your power, both mental and physical, comes from you and you alone." Arthur smiles at his cousin. "You're a smart girl, Lilly. I would completely trust you to lead me, whether into battle or anything else, and between you and me, that is saying something." As he stands, Arthur returns his borrowed Sapphire and Aquamarine to Alexis. "I, too, would like to learn more about the witch--the power she demonstrated at the Foundation Day Ball worries me, and I'd prefer having something up my sleeve if I encounter her again." You see, back when I lived with the witch and was honing my dreamweaving skills, I tried to look into her mind when she slept. She of course felt it and woke up immediately, giving me a good beating for it, but in that one split second I saw what she really was - not a human but a monster. With tentacles and everything! It took me a lot to hide what I knew from her. It helped because I did not know anything about the monster she was back then, but then I saw her spitting image, painted on a Decamon card.
