Just wanted to compliment Ska for the great work put into this challenge, it has kicked off a level of activity in GoH which I don't think I've seen since I started here with the exceptions of the day before some multi-category challenge deadline.

I almost hope that the challenge doesn't end after only 3 months, it would be fun if the wargame continued for a bit longer (but maybe with slightly more time per build) :classic:

I second this. A well written chapter and even more exciting to build for. Also, Gideon, is there a PM thread I could join so I know where the HC wants to coordinate attacks?

There is, but I don't have the powers to add you there. I suggest that you PM Ecclesiastes who made the thread and ask.

And I'll third this. I've been thinking the same - I certainly haven't been here as long, but I've never seen such activity in the forum. It's obvious Ska put a ton of thought into this one, especially by giving newer builders a chance to participate with many smaller builds. This is definitely set to be a very exciting chapter, and quite difficult to top too!

I am going to "fourth" this. While the other challenges have been awesome, this is really over the top!

And I wouldn't mind an extension either  - Just wonder if we can keep this up in the longer run... Longer deadlines might help that, though.

Yea, the one week cadence with guerilla builds is especially troublesome if you ask me, at least with the current power of those builds as it only takes one misplaced business trip or vacation to miss out on any chance to counter an attack.

Hi Jakorin - if you haven't already found out, you are actually part of the PM thread. Check your messages in the top right corner :sweet:

Agreed - on the upside, it is a team effort. (I will gone for 10 days over easter myself)

It would also lessen the load on Ska if he only needed to update it every second week.

But anyhow, I am very impressed with the whole setup, and understand if it will continue as-is.

This seems like a rather odd question but in our builds, could we add a song that goes with it? Maybe in a spoiler to make the build seem more alive.

Hello Kaliphlin! Sorry for the looooong absence on my part. I am swamped still and cannot contribute much for this challenge. But, I will be able to get a little bit in, and this is just awesome Ska so I can't sit it out! Assign me wherever needs help. Just remember I probably won'the add a ton.

Although I wanted to pout you on the Council side, because that is were I put your city, I put you on the Ulandus side because of numbers. Let me know if this is unacceptable.

I couldn't agree more! The whole concept is fantastic and a credit to SkaForHire. Everyone is getting involved and it's great to see.

And I fourth it :D

@Basilicus: aren't you cheering for Ulandus?

Thanks for your enthusiasm! I am cheering for Ulandus, but it will be a lot of shouting and not much action I am afraid. I can't build at the moment as my LEGO is in storage while I try and sell my house (15 months and no luck so far) as my estate agent thought it made our room look bigger (and to be fair, he is correct). I'm also having a baby in 8 weeks (actually my wife is! ) !

So I will only be supplying moral support! Go Ulandus!

Hahaha, you are welcome :p but as I guess you are also in the Ulandus mailsystem, I have to be carefull my old friend :p

Too bad you are living in Scotland as I am a real estate agent in Flanders (Belgium) :p

8 weeks to go? Is it the first baby? :)

First, congratulations!

Second, it is funny, because over here I was renting a house a couple years back that the owners were trying to sell, the Real Estate agents begged me to keep models up because it showed people "potential" of the house. This house didn't need help, it was in a very desired neighborhood and huge (I knew the owner, they rented it to me for about 25% of what it should have been rented for). For a grad student it was a mansion! (it even had its own library!!!) Anyway, the point was, they thought having the Lego everywhere was a attractive feature! haha.

I don't see why that would be a problem! The more you can make your build "come alive" the better! As long as the post contains a MOC, songs, poetry, stories, etc, all help to add to the Historica experience.

Welcome back Kayne! I hear you're fighting for Ulandus...good choice!

Yeah you should be careful...but I'd say of the Desert King! So far, they seem to have some tough to beat builds!

Shame you can't help me sell my flat, the market is in a terrible state here in Scotland - we made the mistake of buying a cheap flat (in a not so great area) in a town that turns out to be very middle class. We're having a tough time convincing anyone to buy it!

Yes, it's our first baby so we are both really excited. I'm still in the process of convincing my wife that the LEGO is 'mine' and when our child is old enough they need to get their own!

Thanks SkaForHire! Shame that isn't the case for me - the spare bedroom of our 2 bedroom flat is pretty big but I had floor-to-ceiling boxes that made it look smaller. I can't disagree that from a sale point of view it helps the room look bigger, but the last 15 months has been hard - it made me realise how much time I spent with LEGO. First world problems, I know, but there you go.

@Basiliscis. Wow those are huge boxes! Its a shame you had to put it all into storage. They wouldn't even let you keep a small box out? I mean you don't need massive amounts of bricks to build vignettes and other small things.

Yeah, I hope my counterbuild will be received well as Disco made a very solid entry... Pictures will be posted tomorrow once the guerilla's of this week are registered in a thread.

It is sometimes difficult to predict what areas are a good investment... Best luck selling your house!

Hahaha, wonderfull times coming ahead! Since the Lego Movie came out, I managed to convince my girlfriend that our kids (in the future when we get them) may have my old Lego and they are not allowed in my Legoroom as long as I play so every now and then with our kids and their Lego :p

I'd like to throw in my 2-cents and say that it would only be fair that Captain Braunsfield join Ulandus considering the the number of supporters. Ulandus is at 14 builders while the Desert King is at 16 builders. The High Council currently has the most at 18 builders.

I only can agree with this. DK wins everything, so more balance would be welcome!

Hey! That's not true. Even Ulandus seems to be successful at the moment. At least more successful than HC :P
