KyuTsa Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Hi guys, do you know what PF are included in the Lego 60052 Cargo train most especially the motor? Are they compatible with Emerald Night train? Thanks. Quote
Duq Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 To power the Emerald Night according to the instructions you'll need an XL motor. The battery box and receiver from the Cargo train can be used. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Yes, 60052 has the PF parts you asked about, the complete part inventory can be found here. While the EN instructions only tell you how to power it with an XL motor (not included in 60052, but currently on sale at S@H in the US), you could also modify the tender so that you could use the train motor from 60052. However, if you go this route you will probably want to remove the gearing from the EN and only use a single red band on the driver wheels (exactly one, not one on each side), both to reduce unnecessary drag. KyuTsa Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 Wow! you guys are awesome as well as this group. Thanks a lot for the advice. I just ordered the XL motor off BL and Im too excited to set-up my train. I can feel the addiction rushing into me. Lol! cheers! Quote
cgarison Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I can feel the addiction rushing into me. Lol! cheers! That is not good. Lock down your wallet immediately. Lego trains are worse than any pharmaceutical that I know. Best of luck and enjoy your build. Quote
jodawill Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 The Lego website does include a description of all the PF elements included, but you can see a complete inventory on BrickLink. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=60052-1 This new cargo train is one of my favorite sets of all time. It includes a lot of useful parts – so many, in fact, that I didn't even finish assembling the set before I cannibalized it for my steam engine. They're releasing a new cargo train this summer that, in my opinion, is not quite as good as this one (mainly because it doesn't include the cow ;) ). I highly recommend you buy this one before it's discontinued. Quote
talos Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I got one of these too, I didn't know another version is coming so soon. Will keep a look out for it. I am already thinking of redoing the cars as well for my own ideas. Quote
dr_spock Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I got the 60052 for the cow too. It has blue train base plates, good for making a blue Horizon Express. Or Conrail GP38 diesel engine. Mine has been parted into other MOCs. Quote
jodawill Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I'd love to buy at least one more of those cargo trains, but I'm getting married on Saturday, and I don't think my wife would appreciate that, considering my Lego collection takes up half the apartment already. Quote

Quick, buy it by Fri and your wife will not yet exist, problem solved (grin). Seriously though, congratulations! Quote
