I actually think that's the best term to describe me as I am literally addicted to the Lego fix. I can't help buying quick sets whenever I have the chance and the euphoria is always followed by regret when I realise I don't have the time to do anything with them. My Lego just sits there in several huge boxes with nobody to play with them :(

But nonetheless, I am a Lego fan. I got through Uni by buying pretty much every Lego City set from '09 to '12...

I'm a big trains fan but can't really afford the huge collections some people have, so mine's kind of some cobbled together MOCs that look sort of like trains. The only sets I own are the red passenger and blue cargo trains.

Er... I'm from England, I work in retail, have aspirations to open my own shop (was going to be a Lego store 'til I found out they don't let you do that), and I'm 24. That's about it.

That's a serious problem  . Have you ever considered to buy some sets, do a quick review, and sell them again? That way you can keep buying and building the sets you want, you could also try to buy sets of which you expect to make some profit afterwards. I'm sure you can get more tips from the Eurobricks traders community. Anyway, have fun here :classic:

Welcome, Amy!

I also have the issue of more kits than time and have a healthy (or obsessive) backlog to address at some point; space also becomes an issue after a while. I think I need a TARDIS to support my Lego hobby.

I always wanted Lego Trains growing up, but they just weren't feasible in our family budget. Returning to Lego as an adult allowed me to fix that. The Lego "My Own Train" sets circa 2001 did a lot to turn me into the Legoholic I am today ( Those trains used pretty generic parts and instructions are free to download if you want to mine them for inspiration for your MOC-ing ) You can also check out Railbricks, a website and magazine dedicated to Lego Train MOCs and Building techniques and the Trains forum right here for more clever ideas as to how to spend time you haven't got.

As far as official train kits go, my favorite of the train themed one has to be the Emerald Night. It's a great model in its own right, but also reminds me of the Flying Scotsman; my grandfather was an engineer on that line for decades.

Hi, I'm Amy, and I'm a Legoholic.

Hi, Amy!

Surprised at how few people actually said it.

I feel your pain... there is a thread on LEGO regrets where I detail how I can't let some sets pass me by (because you know they'll be too expensive later on, and you'll regret missing them), but while I can occasionally make time, I have no place to display the sets once built. I have many sets on shelves, socked away in closets, a pile on my chest of drawers... occasionally I box up a displayed set just so I can build another one. I do get buy making smallish mocs on occasion, but even my microscale castle grew too large.

I returned to LEGO (long story short) because of trains, too. It'll take time to build up a collection - I'm not fond of the sets, and the "real" AFOL type sets are few and far between - Emerald Night, Maersk, and Horizon Express - all retired, and nothing new or even announced. Look to non-city themes for some trains, especially if you're interested in steam. The Toy Story 3 train was over-the-top "toyish," but a pretty fun set, anyway, like a classic toy train. But the Lone Ranger train was, IMO, absolutely one of the nicest trains TLG has ever made.... smaller than, but on par with, the Emerald Night, IMO, and you can buy them on BL (at least in the U.S.) for 1/4 the price of Emerald Night (less than $100 US).
