On a separate note, I just got my DC Character Encyclopedia (for that sweet, sweet Pirate Batman), and it led me to wonder: will they ever release a Marvel Character Encyclopedia? I've seen Star Wars, Ninjago, Chima (I think), and now DC. Anybody know whether this is out of the realm of possibility for some wacky reason, or what? Just curious...

Not that I'm aware of, DK makes the books and they made non-LEGO Marvel books before and like you mentioned a Star Wars one so there shouldn't be licensing issues. I think it's probably set volume more than anything. Up until recently there haven't been quite enough sets to "justify" a book but now there may be. Ninjago and DC both have a very large number of sets over many years to pull from where as Marvel makes about 6-10 sets a year for the last 4 or so years. Just my thoughts though, I could be wrong.

Good news, the summer Spidey sets are in my home country of Sokovi... I mean England, UK. Picked up a Ghost Rider set today

I live in Exeter, Devon, found them in Thomas Moore. That's all I've seen so far. The DC sets were also there (except Ra's)

Ah damn, I like near Gatwick so that's a long trip haha. Went on their website, typed in my postcode and it's pointed me to Toy Barnhaus near me which seemed to have the Disney figs before most people around here too so I might pop in over the weekend whilst the other half is out! That'll be a shock.. she goes out and I come back with the Bridge set .

Cheers for the heads up Quicksilver838.

Man it's going to be so hard to wait for that Ghost Rider set when everyone in Europe will have the new sets and will talking about them. Sigh. At least there's Bionicle to tide me over until then.

General 2016 marvel question: whats everyone's favorite set so far this year?

Mine would be airport battle

Seconded. Giant Man made the set for me, plus Rhodes and Wanda are great figs

As much as I love the Airport Battle, I'd have to say mine is Black Panther Pursuit, as Black Panther and helmet less Cap are very nice additions to the Marvel line and the Wakandan Jet is one of my favorite builds.

The Airport Battle is definitely my favorite Superhero set of all time. The Bridge Battle is probably my second favorite this year (although the Doctor Strange set might have a good chance of getting up there too).

Definitely the Bridge Battle set. There are 6 new and exclusive figs, and I think that bridge would look perfect in my LEGO city.

It was definitely the Bridge Battle Set, but that new Spidey is so wonderful and Hawkeye is definitely the best version of him as well. So minifig wise I'd have to go with the Spider-Man Civil War set, but build wise it still has to be the Bridge Battle set, and it's definitely second for minifigs as well.

not sure it's fair to ask this question before summer sets are released, so I can't say since I don't own any summer sets yet. So Airport Battle is my favorite set.

Lots of great ones this year, really. Black Panther's jet is so great, but the rest of the set is a bit lackluster. I'm really digging this upcoming the Civil War Spidey set, since it's got a really nice batch of figures and a decent build for such a low price point. The Bridge Battle's looking pretty cool, too, and the Airport. I'm still holding out hope for the Doctor Strange set to just blow me away, though. It's such a great year!

I've gotta say my favorite is the bridge. 6 new figs! Green Goblin is probably in my top 5 favorite Lego figs now. The Airport is great too, would've been better with an exclusive Cap. Quinjet is okay. After seeing the movie I get why it was included. The tanker truck comes in at #3. A spidey worthy of fighting the new GG!

So, the Doc Ock set is not my favorite set this year by far, but I don't get why it's getting such a bad rep. It's over 440 pieces for $40, it's got four exclusives minifigures in it, even if one is an inaccurate Captain Stacey. The mech isn't the greatest, but it's got a nice color scheme, and uses the first rapid-fire stud-shooters in the Marvel Superheroes line (which is nice because I haven't bought any of the Star Wars stuff with them). I also like the Spider-board print. My only objection is the top half of the mech looks a bit too open, but I like it overall. I'll definitely be getting it, for one.

Totally agree. I adore the simple yet sentimental ode to the comics of the 60's/70's emphasized through the mech's wacky design. The vibe is something I personally can't get enough of after seeing the heavily retro inspired Civil War Spider-Man.

On top of that, the figures (especially White Tiger and the new Doc-Ock) are terrific.

Regarding my favorite set of 2016, mine would definitely have to either be the Airport Battle or the upcoming Ghost Rider set. Both sets have amazing builds and minifigures, making them well worth their value.

Hope this trend of more obscure characters and more unique Spider-Man variants continues into the future.

I'm probably gonna buy a cheaper Doc Ock Mech on eBay, don't feel it's worth a whole £60. Also might try and ease my way into a cheaper bridge set.

But anyway, just finished building the Ghost Rider set, and it was definitely worth the £20. Before I got the set I thought the bike was rather big and 'puffy', but really it's pretty thin. The Glider is quite big though. But they are both amazing builds.

As for the street corner, it's so much better than the one from the Catwoman chase back in 2012. People have spotted the 'Vulture Preys Over The City' Easter egg on the Front Line blue box, the red box has Daily Bugle stickers, reading (of course) 'Spider Menace!'

Figures:

Spide...

Ghost Rider: Despite the controversy of him using one single head piece, it's not too bad. I thought that the flames were longer, more flowing back, which would make the head look strange, but I was wrong. It works pretty well. As for torso, it's not too much, but it's still quite nice printing

Hobby: The hood and cape are lovely in the orange color (this is the first time I've had a torn cape as well, I like it), his torso print is very simplistic, but it works so much for him. The head, I can say is interesting, due to his eyes. In his grin face, you can see he has fangs, great touch

I rate: 9/10

I mean do I really need to say it? The Ghost Rider Team Up set hands down. I'm a sucker for all things Ghost Rider!
