psqidexslizer248 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Seems very Equestria Girls-ish. Wonder what the set'll look like. "76054 DC Super Hero Girls Beauty Salon" Maybe a Mall of Justice. Joking aside, we'd probably see the Super Hero High () in some form or another.
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Maybe a Mall of Justice. Joking aside, we'd probably see the Super Hero High () in some form or another. Oh my G-O-S-H that was perfect! Sadly, your probably right. A DC set will be wasted on Amanda Waller's High School X.
just2good Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 So you are 100% sure that LEGO will release sets based on that theme? That sucks... Nope, I haven't heard anything on them doing it, and I heard much of next year's releases.
Alpinemaps Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 So you are 100% sure that LEGO will release sets based on that theme? That sucks... Nope, I haven't heard anything on them doing it, and I heard much of next year's releases. The original press release back in April mentions Lego sets. The LEGO Group will also be key to building the DC Super Hero Girls franchise, leveraging their experience and success engaging girls in creative construction play to bolster this universe through an array of LEGO® building sets designed to inspire girls’ imaginations.
just2good Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 The original press release back in April mentions Lego sets. It mentions LEGO sets, but not LEGO sets specifically tied in with the property. I thought they were just referring to past LEGO sets with the figures.
Alpinemaps Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 It mentions LEGO sets, but not LEGO sets specifically tied in with the property. I thought they were just referring to past LEGO sets with the figures. I read it as if Lego were part of the marketing push. The Lego mention is buried in a deeper part of the press release. It looked to me like it was in a section discussion other product tie-ins to the franchise. That's just how I read the press release. You could just as easily be right, though.
SoupOrFishOil Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I don't think that Wonder Woman being gripped by Lex Luthor's Kryptonite mech or playing third banana to Batman and Flash is "designed to inspire young girls' imaginations" in the way that Friends and Elves are (which is what the press release was clearly referencing), so, paired with how it uses the future tense, I'm going to harbor a guess and say that it means mini-doll sets are on the horizon....
IMBATMAN Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Seems very Equestria Girls-ish. Wonder what the set'll look like. "76054 DC Super Hero Girls Beauty Salon" Is this actually happening?
ultron32 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Oh no, LEGO is making a new type of DC Superheroes sets, adding to all the stuff they already give us! I hate when they make new things. /sarcasm I have no complaints, maybe the AFOL community won't have much use for them but they'll be fun to see (and there is obviously at least a little demand: )

But let's face it: it very well could compromise it.
Soupperson1 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I don't see what the complaining about DC Girls is, if anything it will replace Elves/Disney Princess not DC sets. We'll get new moulds there that can be reused for minifigures.
FTG Prime Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Hmmm The DoJ sets seem interesting i hope we get a stubble face for Batfleck
DJ Bricks Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Hmmm The DoJ sets seem interesting i hope we get a stubble face for Batfleck Whe get standard New 52 face for DoJ Batfleck.
Amazing Bricks Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Here's a preview of how the minifigures in the mighty micros are going to look. http://1.1.1.1/bmi/minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/2015-10-02-14.06.52-1024x761.jpg

We'll get new moulds there that can be reused for minifigures. Nothing's "replacing" Elves, least of all a licensed theme. Disney Princess... maybe. But let's not assume that Lego can only sustain two or three "girls themes" at a time. Considering how successful Friends and Elves have both been, it would follow that the market for minidolls is large enough to sustain a variety of different themes. Not that I think the Super Hero Girls will take a big bite out of the main Super Heroes theme, either. This is aimed at a different market, and as such I doubt Lego has any plan to sabotage one of their more traditionally successful themes just to launch it.
Numbuh1Nerd Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Honestly, I kinda like the look of this DC Superhero Girls thing. The fact that it's all high school drama and no crime fighting bugs me a hell of a lot, though. Judging by the little trailer thingy, it might even bring a whole lot of attention to a lot of lesser-known heroes. They're using the whole DC pantheon here, and it's only a matter of time before these characters get close to the front line enough to be noteworthy. (bit off topic, but I'm kinda disappointed that they aren't using Nightwing because I need to ship Babs and Dick across the entire multiverse )

An article in USA Today mentioned a book where Lex Luthor captures the girls before their exams so...er? Sort of both?
psqidexslizer248 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 (edited) If anything, a Friends styled DC theme would increase the number of female figure we get in the regular theme, not decrease it. Just look at what how many more females we've seen in the City theme after Friends was launched. I think there is going to be some crimefighting. An article in USA Today mentioned a book where Lex Luthor captures the girls before their exams so...er? Sort of both? Still beats Lex stealing 40 cakes. Edited October 4, 2015 by psqidexslizer248

Amazing Bricks Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Link isn't working for some reason. What was the image? Someone took a picture of some of the minifigures that are going to be included in the mighty micros with short legs. Although, they were made by someone. It was an idea of how they're going to look with short legs. Bane, cat woman, Spiderman, green goblin, and hulk were shown. These are not official, but I'm sure bane and cat woman will look like the picture.
