Here's a picture of the dimensions/BvS Superman face we're getting. I really like it and it's better than what I was expecting.

Also here's another look at that mysterious robin face. I still think the mighty micro set with robin will have this. Both this and the juniors set have the same smiling face robin, but they each have a different scared face.

Yup, that's the one I received from the replacements service. But unless I'm mistaken, didn't someone say that the Robin figure in the racers set would be the 2012 version? Anyway, that new Superman grin is a whole lot better than the current one!

The prelim Robin in the catalog has the 2012 hair and mask but with a red torso with green arms.

It's still prelim. I remember the faces on these are supposed to look...'wacky' so maybe they're these heads.

I'm kinda annoyed at LEGO in their way of dealing with the Justice League (Beyond Batman and Superman). The only year we've seen sets primarily based on the Justice League is this year. And that was 6 sets (inc. 6862 from 2012) out of the what, 25? 30? Now don't get me wrong, Batman is my favourite DC character, so the more Batman the merrier, but I wish there was better handling of the rest of the Justice League.

This year's winter wave was quite promising in giving us JL characters that were not Batman, but next year it looks like it's back to Batman galore again... Why, Lego?!

Because Batman is popular and he sells.

BECAUSE I'M BATMAN!

But yeah, psqidexslizer248 is right. Kids love Batman.

I think this should be Batman's main cast' last year as prominent figures. In 2017 (I know, it's a long way away), they should start bringing in at least a wider variety of Batman villains, another Croc, another Freeze, Firefly, Ra's Al Ghül should get a shot. We keep getting new variants of characters we're barely interested in. Wow a new Joker with a BLUE undercoat!!! OMG!... If they want to keep adult fans interested then they need to start expanding the universe or bring in a new sub-theme such as the Arkham games and the CW shows to keep adult DC fans in the stream.

To be fair, LEGO has been packing bunches of new minifigures into Batman sets lately. The most recent Bat-sets had Deathstroke and some Teen Titans (plus new Robins, but I don't know if that counts). I don't think they've released any sets in a while that had zero new minifigures/variants. I can agree that their branching out has been slower than we'd like, but it's not like they make no new stuff.

Plus, with our only confirmed new comic-based set next year including Deadshot and a Harley Quinn variant, it looks to continue to diversify. They seem to be realizing that new characters and new costumes sell a set better than a build can, even going as far as using that method to sell other merchandise.

Dead shot and Quinn are sucide squad members we might be getting them now so in the summer we can get more members of the "team"

I'm hoping for at least Captain Boomerang. He's pretty popular. He's been in the past two Lego Batman games. I could see him happening.

Him, Croc, and Katana are probably the most popular ones (besides Harley and Deadshot). I wouldn't be surprised to see the three of them.

Wasn't there also mention of killer croc and killer frost...

For this years sets? Not that I'm aware of.

I don't really have a problem with the over saturation of Batman unless the sets revolve around something like Dawn of Justice. Other than that, you all often forget just how immense Batman's lore really is. After the DCEU kicks off and we get fan favorites, they'll be integrated into sets. It'll take a bit.

This cinematic universe is just starting it's second chapter soon. While Marvel has had theirs in LEGO since 2012. Just give it time. It's hard to have diversity in these sets when focus groups only want Batman. The movies will surely lead to people saying, "Oh, I want more Wonder Woman! She's cool!" or "Oh I want some more Green Lantern! There's a ton of them!"

Eventually we'll get there! And hopefully we'll get even more villains along with diverse sets!

I'm willing to get more Batman centered sets as long as they offer variants of the villains, even more so if they're based off of actual source material, especially comics. That's why I prefer the 2006-2008 Batman figures, they were all based off comics and animated shows. Ever since the superheroes theme started, so far only Bane, Two Face, Penguin, and now Harley have had non-generic designs, based on the Dark Knight Rises, Silver Age comics, Batman Returns, and the New 52 comics.

There are some excellent pad printed Batman customs on genuine Lego, two of which cover Arkham City and Arkham Origins. In fact you can still just buy the torso for the Arkham Origins version.

I'm not convinced the New 52 version we currently have looks too much like it.

I must admit I'm with everyone above who is happy to keep getting new Batman variants, as long as they're relevant and relate to something that has a source.

I would like a big fig batman for dark knight returns, and a batman beyond minifig.

Agreed on the value of source material. I don't particularly care about Space Batman or Scuba Batman, but I like the 1989, Nolan, and comic suits, and if I were to get the Batman Beyond suit, I'd be very happy.

I love Batman, but even I'm getting a bit tired of him. Problem is, I love his rogues more than any other heroes', so I sorta want to see them keep going and give us characters like Hatter, Moth, and Clayface.

I'd say Croc and Captain Boomerang are most likely, and we'll probably see a Joker variant (not like the movie, just one to draw interest).

While on the topic of character variety in these sets, now might be a good time to remind everyone that there is a Justice League cartoon coming down the pipeline that will undoubtedly add some new heroes to our roster and take some focus off of the Caped Crusader.

Unfortunately, that won't start airing until this fall, so I doubt it will have any effect on the summer wave. But maybe after that we'll start seeing some more variety, maybe even a set without Batman or Superman.

Sets based on The Lego Batman Movie might be our best bet for those.
