We get reports and orders from her on occasion though, with her signature and seal, but they just sort of show up. She insisted that no one enter her estate, and only she and I can remove the locks that bar them, and I have sworn an oath to not allow anyone to enter the manor without her invitation." Althior turns to the guard. "Any idea who that vampire is?" The guardsman scoffs. "Martin Frey? He's a washed up drunk. I heard he owes money to the Creaking Coffin at the East Gates. I also heard that he was a rather powerful man in the High Kingdoms before he was turned into a vampire. Then he was a rather powerful vampire in the the High Kingdoms. At least, that's what I've heard." Edited August 8, 2015 by Kintobor Quote

Asphalt Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Vindsval lashes out at his target, the blades managing to slice deeply into his target. It's not the blades that do him in however, but the poison. His body having taken in so much, the Sniper keels over, mumbling profanities to himself before falling off the roof and hitting the cold, dusty ground. Vindsval watches the Body fall and hit the street below. As it comes to rest the residue of poison slowly seeps into the earth around the corpse. There is indeed great power within the Witchery Way. May I be granted the wisdom to master it for the protection of those in need. He moves up to the sniper's body. You chose your own path. Perhaps in death you will find the acceptance you never gave in life. I offer this soul to you in Tribute Wanderer, may this offering feed you and extend your stride. Vindsval kneels beside the fallen body of the Sniper. He places a hand on the man's chest and begins his prayers to send the soul of this man to the Halls of the Wanderer. He finishes his prayers and raises blade above his head. He brings it down with a controlled slash on the neck of the Sniper, severing it cleanly from its shoulders. He sheathes the blade, grasps the head by the hair and raises it to the heavens. I deep growl rumbles in his chest as his eyes flash with victory. He stuffs the severed head deep into the mans hat and folds the bundle up tightly. That bundle he places in his traveling bag. That gory business finished Vindsval removes the jar, Muffler, and bow from the body and binds the corpse tightly in its own cloak. I will not leave a corpse to little the streets, and we may require proof of our kill to claim the bounty offered by the city guard. The Witch claims the Mage's Muffler and the Jarate , The Bow he will hold for Throlar until he is well enough to wield it. The body taken care of and the Loot stowed Vindsval moves to the unconscious Dwarf. He looks down at the tiny sleeping man. He is almost pleasant when he is asleep, but if we are to continue I need him on his feet. Vindsval Holds a hand over Throlar, which begins to glow with a golden light as he recites a PRAYER OF HEALING over the Dwarf. There friend Throlar, that should bring you to your old self, for better or ill. How are you feeling friend? Shall we CONTINUE TO THE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT? Vindsval offers the Bow to the Warden and returns to the boby of the slain assassin. He scoops the wrapped corpse up under one arm, and walks slowly towards their next designation within the city. OOC: You didn't update Vindsval's stats for raising a level. Thanks for the fun battle. I liked this one Kint. Quote

Kintobor Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Residential District Party Vindsval proceeds to cut off the head of the sniper, and as he raises it up to the Wanderer, he notices the woman from earlier staring at him, her mouth agape as the blood from the sniper trickles onto the street. The snow white owl also seems to be surveying the scene. "Guards! Guards! Guards! There's someone perform a dark blood ritual in the street! Guards!" The sound of footsteps can be heard coming from all directions as three guards soon arrive at the scene. Diane seems to be stirring in the same spot she was before. She turns even paler staring at the decapitated corpse of the sniper. It doesn't take long for the guards to draw their weapons towards Vindsval. "J-just what is the meaning of this? Asphalt Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) By the Trickster I am truly thrice cursed this day. It is now that that woman takes notice of me? IT WAS NO RITUAL MY DEAR WOMAN, SIMPLY GIVING MY THANKS FOR GUIDANCE AND STRENGTH. Vindsval stops before the guards and lays the wrapped body on the ground before them. I am Vindsval, Called the Half Born. One of your number charged my companions and I with ridding your town of the sniper who plagued its innocents. The body that lies before you are the earthly remains of that biggot and murderer. I offer these remains as proof that the assigned deed was done. YOUR PEOPLE ARE NOW SAFE TO WALK THE STREETS ONCE MORE. Vindsval speaks the last more loudly so that not only the old woman, but all those in their homes may know that it is now again possible to walk their own streets without fear of being struck down from above. Asphalt Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Or rather he found us. It was a fatal mistake on his part, and a near thin for us. But this bigoted scum Vindsval spits on the ground beside the corpse Will hunt neither your nor my kind every again in this life. Vindsval lowers his voice to a gruff rumbling whisper for only Althior and Sorrow to hear. I believe I have also come up with a solution for a certain enforcer we met earlier. One that will send all sides away feeling they have won. He gently pats one of his traveling pouches as he speaks of his plan. But we shall discuss that at a more private moment. The giant turns his attention back to the guards and points at the corpse. As you can see I have done what you have asked and fulfilled the contract offered. Quote
Kintobor Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) The guards are clearly all somewhat frightened by Vindsval's showing, but the raise their spears slightly and seem to take him seriously. "Thanks to whom?" The woman asks. One of the guards cuts her off and inspects the body. I step towards Vindsval, hands raised - the universal sign of not fighting. "Listen! Vindsval is a travelling companion of ours. We were told about the sniper plaguing the streets by a guard, and he has taken them out. Look at his gear, and his weapon - all of them are things a sniper would use." The guard inspecting the corpse nods his head in approval and looks at Vindsval and Throlar. "Very well then, gentleman, you have my thanks. Here, I believe the reward was 500 gold? Jeeves! Head back and tell the captain the bounty on the sniper's been collected!" One of the guards, presumably Jeeves, runs off as the other stand about. It doesn't take long for him to return. "You have our thanks, gentleman. 500 gold to split amongst you. I'll be needing the head." Vindsval hands the head over as the other two guards grab the corpse. They moved off into the night. Fellcrest was safe knowing they'd no longer have to deal with a rogue sniper. Side Quest Successful! Reputation Increased! QM Note: Vindsval, please divide the 500 gold up.
