Endgame Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I seize as Vindsval suddenly stabs the poor girl, not expecting that kind of swiftness. "Vindsval! There was - there was steps we had to take before she died! Gah, come on, hold on, for just a second, please..." As Diane draws her last breaths, I hastily sprinkle the Last Wish Powder on her and begin muttering the necessary rituals, my hand's surging with a blue ethereal pulse - from the very same scars I used to dope on ether cores all these years to go. I break out in a sweat, not realizing Vindsval was going to be so quick, desperately hoping Diane was alive to be affected by the power. I pump as much ether into the girl as I need to, frantically downing any tonics and ether cores that I have to, to bind her spirit back to her body. Recalling all of the necromantic arts, I pray to Helvetia this would succeed as I do my work... Quote
Asphalt Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 You would have bled her out and forced her to bundle herself and hide. I gave her the quickest end and they least visible permanent mark. Now do your part in this thing. Quote

K-Nut Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 You would have bled her out and forced her to bundle herself and hide. I gave her the quickest end and they least visible permanent mark. K-Nut Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I should've stayed a Necromancer myself, Althior thinks. He situated himself against the wall, watching the events unfold. "Damn it all to hel..." he mutters under his breath Quote
Asphalt Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Vindsval whispers There was no plan, only debate of method. Clearly the woman was anxious, in pain, and wanted this done. So it is done. The strike least felt is the one not seen. She will have no knowledge of her death. Would you not have wished it thus? Quote
K-Nut Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Althior bites his lip and stays silent. Yet another Ogroblin who couldn't think anything through. Babeleth was quickly becoming a synonym for stupidity, it seemed. Quote
Kintobor Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Vindsval moves so that his massive frame hides the party from the view of prying eyes, removes his Brifrost Blade from its scabbard at his waist, kneels, and drives it with precision and speed into Diane's Heart. Diane writhes in pain as Vind drives the daggers into her heart. She begins coughing up blood and convulsing as he pulls his blades out, completely out of breath. As Diane draws her last breaths, I hastily sprinkle the Last Wish Powder on her and begin muttering the necessary rituals, my hand's surging with a blue ethereal pulse - from the very same scars I used to dope on ether cores all these years to go. Sorrow hastily and unexpectedly gets to work. If he could sweat, he would be doing so, as he sprinkles the Last Wish Powder and the necromantic energy through her veins. (15 ether) Diane eventually goes numb and stiff. Diane was dead. It didn't take to much longer for her eyes to twitch back open as she looked around. Her face began to clear up from the green gunk, although it seemed to be taking its time. She poked at the large hole where Vindsval stabbed her. "Did- did you just stab me? What the hell was that all about? How am I going to explain this gapping hole in my chest?" Quote
Endgame Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) I heave a sigh and stand up, feeling exhausted. "It was either that or a sliced throat, and one you can wear a shirt over. But... you're undead now. And can live independent of myself, I hope. Can you stand?" I say, offering a gloved hand. Edited August 12, 2015 by Endgame Quote
Asphalt Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Would you have preferred a second smile across your throat? You are looking quite well for the newly unliving Dianne. Welcome to your new path. Quote
K-Nut Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Althior drops his head and starts to laugh. "What the hell did I say? It doesn't matter now, you don't need to explain it. You're undead, it's what you wanted. Are we done here?" Quote
Kintobor Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 I heave a sigh and stand up, feeling exhausted. "It was either that or a sliced throat, and one you can wear a shirt over. But... you're undead now. And can live independent of myself, I hope. Can you stand?" I say, offering a gloved hand. Diane stands up, brushing herself off. "I guess I can now. Thanks a lot. Seems as if though it's going to be smooth sailing from here! As promised, here's those three geodes I promised. You'll have to find a blacksmith to cut them open, but it shouldn't be too bad of an issue." Diane hands over the three stone chunks. "Well... I"m going to be sticking around here for awhile, maybe find a place to stay in, or maybe go head over to that bar at the East Gates. I doubt I'll be here at nights anymore if you need me. Thanks a lot guys, you really helped a girl out. Now I got to go and get the blood removed from my shirt..." The Side Quest is Successful, but but has Failed another! Journal Updated! Asphalt Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) As the girl walks off Vindsval motions to her. Dianne, before you go. You should know there is a pair of enforcers here looking for you. We may not be the only travelers who were asked to locate you. Perhaps you should not draw attention to yourself until the gates are opened and they are allowed to leave. Endgame Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) I nod and accept the geodes, handing one to Althior and I but keeping one up for grabs. "Throlar, Vindsval, do you want this last one?" I turn to Diane. "More than glad to be of help, and may your unlife have better fortune than your first one. Just a warning, though... You got maybe ten to twenty years with that appearance, max." I peel down my hood, giving a glance a tmy withered face, before pulling it back up. "Make use of it while you can. And Vindsval is right. Stay safe out there."
