Duvors Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Throlar looked up to the owl. <Greetings, how goes it with you Night Hunter?> Quote
Kintobor Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 I approach the undead with the brown ponytail. "Excuse me. Is there a marketplace, and if so, could you point me towards it? I've just arrived today." As Sorrow approach the woman, she turns and promptly throws up. She looks sickly and pale, with green splotches all over her skin. "Ugh... h-hey. *cough, hack* Hehe, you're the first undead to actually talk to me since I got here two days ago. What do you want?" She turns and coughs violently. "Bloody hell this hurts... can you... can you help me with something?" Althior makes his way towards the man under the stairs. "What are you selling?" The man under the stairs turns to Althior, slamming his hands on the desk. He speaks to the prophet in a wheezy voice. "Agh, welcome to Wighty's Tool Emporium. We've got all the tools you could ever need. Can I interest you in something?" Wighty's Tool Emporium Bedroll (Allows the user to rest and regain health and ether in a safe place.) Costs 5 gold. Shovel (Allows the user to dig the ground in search of a treasure.) Costs 10 gold. Pickaxe (Allows the user to dig through a breakable wall or obstacle.) Costs 20 gold. Magnifying Glass (Allows the user to see trap triggers.) Costs 30 gold. Telescope (Allows the user to see far.) Costs 40 gold. Magic Compass (Allows the user to know the right direction to go.) Costs 50 gold. Map of Fellcrest- Exactly what it says on the case. Costs 15 gold. Vindsval moves the the Bearded man with the staff and bows low. "Greetings Elder, my friends and I are new to your city. Could you tell me, what is it that we should be certain to see? Your town is vast and I fear we will miss the areas of greatest repute if we wander aimlessly." The man turns to speak, but scowls, looking at Vind with an air of distrust. "And who are you? A non-undead? Why should I speak with you when you haven't even introduced yourself to me, the still great and powerful Edgar?" Throlar looked up to the owl. <Greetings, how goes it with you Night Hunter?> The owl rustles it's feathers and shift's closer to Throlar. "Hootie hoo! Hoo hoot! <Ah! Someone to actually talk to. I've grown tired of this place rather quickly. I was afraid no one would come around who could speak to me. Night Hunter? Oh, what a curious name. I have been called many a name, but Night Hunter is not one of them, although it has a lovely ring to it, eh wot? I quite frequently go by the name Wise Old Owl, because I am old, wise, and an owl. I've decided to explore the many wonderful landmarks this big, beautiful world has to offer, but... I feel as if I've landed in a cesspool. Is there anyway I can be of assistance?>" Quote
K-Nut Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Althior tosses the man 15 gold for a map. "Pleasure," he states, moving towards Sorrow. "This might help to find you know who," he makes a point not to mention the name Makepeace, just to be safe. Quote
Endgame Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 (edited) I try not to look as the poor girl vomits. "That... can't be pleasant. What do you need? Good find, Althior - we got lucky that we walked where the tool stall was. Zarovitch was of no help, but I suppose that was to be... expected. he said he knew you?" K-Nut Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Althior quickly stumbles back to avoid the girls vomit "Charming..." Good find, Althior - we got lucky that we walked where the tool stall was. K-Nut Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 "And now he's helping maintain order?" I say skeptically. "That... does not bode well." "Not really... He shouldn't be too much of a problem, however. If he fell to the dwarf, he'll fall to us." he chuckles Quote
Kintobor Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Wighty nods as he takes Althior's money. "Thanks for your patronage, sir." QM Note: I'll have a map for you by tomorrow. I try not to look as the poor girl vomits. "That... can't be pleasant. What do you need? "No, it's not. In case it wasn't clear, I'm dying. That being said... I'm actually pretty okay with this because it means I can finally put to rest my curiosity and become an undead. I know it's *cough hack wheeze* a little unorthodox, and kind of screwed up, but I'll totally m-make it worth your while if you help me out. I don't really care what kind of an undead I am, so long as I'm sentient, you know? Can you lend me hand?" Quote
Endgame Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 "I... Will be honest with you. I have not raised a single undead yet. I'm not sure if I could restore you to the capacity you're at now. If you're okay with that, and you know there is no obtainable remedy for your ailment, I would be happy to help. But I will not be the one to kill you, and I will warn you that undeath isn't always the nicest thing. And I think we should exhange names first, at least. I'm Sorrow." Quote
K-Nut Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 "Well...." Althior ponders the girls request "Like Sorrow said, it's very hard to restore you to full mental capacity. We don't have any Last Wish Powder with us, which makes it much more difficult. Althior, by the way," Quote
Asphalt Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 The man turns to speak, but scowls, looking at Vind with an air of distrust. "And who are you? A non-undead? My apologies Great One, I lost myself in your presence. I am Vindsval, Called the Half Born. At the service of you and yours in hopes to atone for my rudeness. Quote

I could've sworn I heard someone blathering about some sort of illegal goods seller somewhere in the city..." The woman frets, clearly getting antsy and impatient. "My name's Diane, by the way." Vindsval blanches in embarrassment and bows even lower before the great wizard. My apologies Great One, I lost myself in your presence. I am Vindsval, Called the Half Born. Ugh, peasants. If you want to atone, begone! I'm in the middle of my walk, and you've disrupted it!" The bearded undead replies in disgust. Quote

Besides, it's not like I have much of a choice. It's either die from this Ether Overdose or become an undead. I don't entirely know, but I'd assume a few days? I've *cough cough* got greenish goop drooling out of my mouth and my skin is becoming blotched. I'm *hack hack* n-not doing good just sitting here, but it's all I can do at this point." She gives a pained grin. It was clear Diane was in a lot of pain. "If we're the first people to talk to you, you really shouldn't turn us away. As Sorrow said, this isn't a matter to take lightly. She moves to show her empty pockets but goes into a coughing fit. A New Side Quest has been added to your Journal. Vindsval's face darkens at the old man's responce. I would hope that in death that is not always the case. He sees Throlar talking to an owl and the woman standing on the balcony beside the bird meets his eyes. Greetings Madaam. "Ether overdose, you say?" Althior states, curiously. Surely someone who had been restored by Ethereth himself could be victim of such condition. However, he realized, that may defeat the purpose of being restored in the first place. "I'm n-not turning you away! Kintobor Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 Throlar pondered for a moment before speaking. <Tell me, Wise Old Owl, How long have you been here?> "Hoot, hoot? <Oh, not very long. Only for a few days. I intend to fly off by the end of the week. I'm heading for Dastan to see the dragons. Where are you going?>" Vindsval watches the old man leave in a huff and shakes his head. He nods in greeting, standing nearly even with her even though she is on the Balcony and the the ground. Vindsval greets the bandaged woman, but she doesn't seem to respond. "You'll have to be a little louder." The salesman calls to Vind in a scratchy voice. "Gretchin's a little hard of hearing." "Ether overdose, you say?" Althior states, curiously. Surely someone who had been restored by Ethereth himself could be victim of such condition. However, he realized, that may defeat the purpose of being restored in the first place. Althior scans the girl. It was unfortunate that she was dying in the first place, but obviously being undead could work itself out. "Have you heard were we could find this seller? I'd rather we had a lead instead of blindly searching the whole damned city," "Yeah, it's a rare disease. It's caused by having too much ether in one's system, and your body continually makes more of it to a point it becomes toxic. You've seen the landscape of Babeleth, and how it's the ether is ruining sections of the land? It's *hack cough cough wheeze* kind of like that, except in a person. If I knew, I would've found him already. A-ask around, someone has to know where this vendor is!" Quote
Asphalt Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Vindsval Looks again to the Woman, and speaks a bit more loudly. "Greetings Madaam, How are you this fine day?" He refuses to abandon cordiality because of one old codger. Quote
