CMP Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Mortimer sinks down beside him, eye glaring. "You alright, big guy?" he asks, his tone firm. "Feel like I just got decked full-on. By a tornado." Keliim moved back inside the Locale. He could see Reg had regain consciousness. "I couldst think that she was, some nice moves, indeed thy gals showed of. So, this technique of lady Luck and herself, thou canst tell me more 'bout?" Keliim leans towards the fairy, looks her in her eyes and touches her hand, "Whats thou heard lassie, anything worth mentionin'?" He looks at Avina standing there with some high advanced scrap in hand. Thou said what? TritecH! Never heard o' it but th' house of Je pei is not somethang I know lot 'bout. He rubs his chin with his right hand still holding the fairies hand with the other. If Thou know they made it, that be the place to pay a visit! But First lets hear out what kiddo over there hast to tell! Pointing at Reg. "Haw. I thought Heroica'd know more about it. She saved this place once, back when Eubric was still a fishing village. Just my way of remembering the woman." "I'm afraid not, sire. Little muggings and such, I suppose. People claim to have been attacked by figures that match this description." "Favourite blade? I like my cutlass, but... you know, it's nothing something I enjoy pulling out." Annienal jumps as Regs stirs at her feet, giving a brief but shrill shriek. "I hate when people do that!" Annienal looks around for her weapons, as well as the rest of the party's. Their weapons are lying by the fallen ogre bouncer, and are handily collected by their owners. "Sewer wolves, huh? Does that just mean that you're Wolfgang, but also you smell bad?" ""Pft. Don't insult us girl, or-..." "You are in no position to make threats," cut off Avina, toying with her dagger. "Gontzo let slip that they've attacked you once. The automatons only seem to target troublemakers. What were you doing?" "...hmph. We were doing a bit of side work. Turns out Briar here ain't half bad with a quill, Red can change yer face a bit with his magic, and I'm a pretty charismatic guy. A little elbow grease and it doesn't take much to get someone a fake identity...a new life." "....really? Hmm.....and who was your most recent client?" "Dunno why you're so interested. Old fellow, scientist or something. His name was Chalvo, I think. Why, that mean something to you?"
Scubacarrot Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 "Now we're getting somewhere. Someone send these robots after us, and someone had to make them. Who could that be? A scientist, perhaps, genius? Just tell us what you made him look like, what his new names and where we would be able to find them and we'll get out of your way." Calamity smiles sweetly.

She saved this place once, back when Eubric was still a fishing village. Just my way of remembering the woman." Keliim looks a bit unintrested in the foolish answer of the slug lady and sights. "Aye, I knowst 'bout the History of the Original veterans, Lady Luck and stuff, yes I habt read it in the library. Not so intrested 'bout Eubric´s history to be fair but that wasn´t my question either, I wast intrested to know 'bout the fightin' technique. "Altough that fat and slow slug wouldst know anything 'bout fighting like her lassies did" he thinks. But he doesn´t say anything bad mouthed about her because he didn´t wanna be rude and act like his old self, Keliim the Cruel. The big man bows his head thug slug, "Thank thou, Madam Camorea." And turns to the fairytender, "I'm afraid not, sire. Little muggings and such, I suppose. People claim to have been attacked by figures that match this description." "That be alrigh', thank thy for the help pretty lassies of the locale." He removes some dirt and dust from her chin and slips her a few gold coins, then moves over to Avina´s side. "Tri-tech, Ji pei, a scientist fellow by the name of Chalvo! Does that name Chalvo, sound familiar to someone?" He asks the others heroes, then turns his eyes on Reg. "Tell us, didst this man tell thy why he needed to changes his identity?"
Scubacarrot Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 As Keliim moves in to interrogate Reg, she asks him. "Hey, I don't recall you going into a rage like that in the parlour. Is that new?"
Mencot Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Keliim looks at Calamity and thinks, "Should had guessed she wouldst been interested by his dark beheivour today." not too keen on answering her, he does it either way and whispers, "Actually no, don´t thou remember me goin' crazy at a few times, ofcourse it was nothin' like we saw today. The deamon queens bite hast done somethan', don´t know whats it ist but feels like my former master, Karain the shadowgod was here an' trying to take control overst me. Rule me withst his dark bloodcharm." He looks away, stares at the back wall and pulls up the bandana to cover his face. He thinks for a moment and then turns halfly back to Calamity and say, "Goodst ist I habt some means to control myself, atleast for the timebeing."
Scubacarrot Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Calamity looks long at Keliim, her eyes flashing towards the arm that has the mark on it a couple of times. Eventually she says: "Good. Good. You should tell me about this Karain the Shadowgod sometime."

I killt thousands of people on the spot if that woulst please him..." He thinks and rubs the right arms mark. He quickly gives an sarcastic answer but with a worried look in his eyes, "But if its true thats he hast found me through the Void, place my spot here on Olegia, Eubric... Thou maybe willst get to meet him!" He turns back to Reg, Em and Avina.

After she hands everyone's weapons back, dropping Kellim's and Calamity's on a nearby table, Annienal returns outside and notices the ogre bouncer on the ground. She kneels down and feeds him a Phoenix Essence, hoping it would help his condition. The ogre snorted and opened his eyes groggily not long after being fed the essence. "...eh? Oh, damn." He grumbled low, pushing himself back up to his feet. "Did those blasted machines get me? One second one of 'em walked right up to me with a club, and then there four more practically blinding me. Thanks for the help, lass. Miss Cammie doesn't let the girls loose for anything less than an invasion." Keliim shakes his head and sights. Emjajoas Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 "Down by the docks, huh?" Mortimer mutters, rising to his full height. "Wish we could've seen--" He suddenly lets loose a deep sigh, running a hand over his forehead. His tone was annoyed; it seemed other words failed to find him. "Wish we could've seen eye to eye from the start." Mortimer glances back at the party before settling his gaze on Avina. "What are we doing with them?"

There has to be something more to how they're deployed. They can't just be everywhere." "I doubt he'll hold up under pressure, then. Cornering him should do the trick if we want answers out of him. But we need to be careful. If Chalvo is the Eubric Knight, he'll have plenty of tricks up his sleeve." Avina finally managed to find Chalvo's file, and passed it around the party. "We can leave whenever you're ready to hit the Tritech workshop. It's getting late, they should be closing up shop soon." "An anagram, really? Come on, man, be a little more original." Emjajoas Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Mortimer's lips tighten into a scowl. "If you hadn't brought up the Wolfgang, I was honestly willing to let you go. I respect a man who follows his beliefs, but... You would've avoided this mess if you had cooperated in the first place, you know?" He shifts his glare to Keliim, shaking his head and running a hand through his hair. He takes a few steps away from the trio of criminals, speaking in a hushed tone to the Party. "I'm inclined to let them go-- if only because Big Red's got a daughter he's trying to protect."
Kintobor Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Looking over the notice, Annienal points at a particular spelling error. "Um, that should be "been", not "be", Avina." Scubacarrot Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 "I say we let him go. He's not our mission."
Mencot Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Keliim walked outside to wait for the others to move out to the next spot. He kept thinking "whats kind of people he was actully workin' with here, to let a "wanted felons" walk away but it was their choice to make, whats they choose th' best an' right. But he knew there wast no better life for Big Red´s daughter as long as he wert travlin' with that scum Reg." The big man turned his head around to see the empty street outside the "Lady Luck's" he could see that the Ogre was up and standing again. "Trovsty wast it? Great tae see thee up oan thee feit again, must bin quiet th' burst when they took thee out!
Emjajoas Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Mortimer shrugs, nodding. "Alright. I'll go have a word with them." He strides over to the trio of criminals, crouching down again, thumb rubbing under his missing eye. "I don't much care for the Wolfgang, but you're free to go. Big Red-- take care of your daughter. Family's important in these parts. Reg-- stay clean, yeah? And remember that you owe us a favour." He rises to his full height, extending hands to help the gang up. "Find someplace else to haunt, too." Once the thugs are gone, he turns to the party and motions with his hand. Time to move on.
Kintobor Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 "Um... Avina, what's A1253? A location coordinate? If so, where?" Annienal asks quietly to the masked woman.

"Believe me, you won't find us around here anymore." Reg throws Briar over his shoulder and grabs Big Red by the back of the hood, pulling them both out of the Locale. "I'll make sure out higher-ups hear about this. And, uh, I'll be sure to cooperate next time, I swear." The heroes exit the brothel as the Sewer Wolves slink off to lick their wounds. Avina shrugs, adjusting her hood, and follows the party. It's getting into the afternoon now, and the sun is slowly lowering over Eubric as the party goes towards the docks. "I'm surprised at our progress. We have countless squads at our disposal, but few of them command the combat capability and loyalty of others as you heroes do, as mismatched as some of your parties may be. On occasion you can even impress me. But I'm curious, or perhaps, concerned about something, heroes. The Order of the Crimson Crown has very clear-cut goals. They haven't wavered since our organization was founded long ago. There was a time, when Heroica was founded, your kind were known as the Avengers of Ennoc, Champions of the Free Isles, even The Bane of Baltarok. But the meaning of 'hero' has changed since the Invasion when Heroica claimed the title for its own members. I've seen your actions firsthand recently, and I've read many reports on the other activities of your organization. Many of you do what you think is right. Some of you work to benefit yourselves, or personal allies. There are several who no longer care about the word 'heroes' and are merely sellswords." "What do you think Heroica's goal is?" Edited September 7, 2015 by CallMePie
Emjajoas Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Mortimer's step falters at Avina's question, but he quickly regains at least some of his composure. His mouth works for a moment as though he's trying to come up with an answer. His face clouds over, his expression changing as his mind wanders over the tasks he's completed. Eventually, he just shrugs, face pinched. "The Crimson Crown is a group. Heroica is individuals under a banner. If they've-- we've... a goal, I've never heard it." "It's not worth dwelling on." He sighs, running a hand through his hair. It was hard to tell whether he actually didn't care or if he simply didn't want to think about it.
