The thing should be noticd is that retro themes don't look like good choices for themed series. We've known TLM series which was based on that film, that is an example not only the theme is special, but the series was binded with a regular set wave.

Every regular CMF series already gave us the CMFs that represent the retro LEGO themes. If we want a whole series to only include one retro theme, to me that sounds abit... boring? :look: It's not a theme idea, but sounds rather like a golden-egg goose. Regular series is good because it can include characters that don't come from any specific theme. In conclusion, I think themes for single CMF series would better be original themes or cooperation with TV/movie series promotion.

Most of the regular series minifigures can be grouped into different subthemes. Castle/fantasy, space, city, horror/monsters, and sports are the most common, and all of them have been actual LEGO themes in the past or present. Series 14 is monsters, which we usually get one or two of in every series. As far as sets go, we had the old LEGO Studios monsters, Monster Fighters, and now Scooby-Doo. I don't think it's that far fetched to see a Castle, Space, or City series if they decide to continue with the non-licensed themed series. Historical is one category from the CMF series that hasn't been a LEGO theme, and that might actually be a really cool idea for a themed series - maybe they'll do that next. But aside from that and the ones I mentioned above, there aren't really any subthemes that would be reasonable for a whole series. Stuff like Pirates, Ninjas, and even Winter Village/Holiday figures don't really have enough unique characters to choose from to get a full 16 minifigure series. Whereas themes like Castle and City (and Monsters) have a huge variety of figures they could choose to make, including ones we've never seen before. Likewise, I don't think tying a minifigure series into an original theme would be a good idea - only fans of that theme would be likely to buy very many, and you probably wouldn't get any minifigures you've been wishing they'd release unless you're a fan of said theme. The LEGO Movie is different because it had a broader appeal and I wouldn't be surprised if they do another LEGO Movie series when the sequel comes out (especially because of the success and popularity of the first movie). But personally I would find a Legends of Chima or Ninjago theme boring compared to a Castle or Space theme.

I agree with your saying. But for an "original theme" I meant, I think it's either that the theme would cater to the major fans' taste, or try to add some characters that could also be used for some retro themes, just like the citizens from Bricksburg.

If LEGO is going to do Ninjago series to promote the movie plot, I think the series would have some Ninjago citizens we've seen in the TV series, or the movie would try to add some fillers that could interest CMF purchasers.

By the way, if this not a themed series, I guess the color will be orange

We don't know yet if S15 will be themed or not. We'll have to wait to see if this series appears in retailers sites with a name attached to it, like "Monsters"

S15 will not be themed

Thanks Itaria. That is good news. I could use a regular theme for my historic and castle needs. I suspect I won't find anything like that in Nexo Knights.

I hope S15 has the same kind of balance as S13. I found most of those figs useable in either a historic context or to populate my modular street.

I am hoping the same thing too. I might have to get a whole box of S13 figures before it's too late...

If that's any indication, I hope S15 is good enough, similarly to S13, where I would consider buying the whole box.

Thank you very much for this information, Itaria No Shintaku! :classic:

I've never been so happy to see a post of yours

I completely agree, Robert8! Since I dislike all those licensed and special themed series. But really like the regular series which do justice to all cutomers since there's always a huge variety in themes included - city, space, history and fantasy.

Went into my local toystore today asking when the Halloween figures are out. The woman who owns the store had just spoken to the Lego rep.. She told me that the next series of CMF's is Disney characters and she's looking forward to the Peter Pan figure.

Is that so? Exciting!

Whoopeee. Forgive me for having zero interest in the character. At least we know the DAC will have some role in the series!

Please give us an Old Hag (Evil Queen) figure, LEGO!

Wait, so S15 is Disney? Then when's the unthemed one? Should the threads be merged? Or is Disney un-numbered, and S15 is to appear later in the year?

It might be the next one, but hopefully it won't be named Series 15. Because if it was, I would worry about never getting a regular series again.

Disney Animated Characters (DAC) wouldn't be bad as long as I could reuse them. The Old Hag from Snow White would be very useful so would Aladdin.

No, Series 15 is the next one, then Disney. Unless they switched the releases around, which I HIGHLY doubt.

Do you remember when the Series 5 list was revealed and Flamenco Dancer was among the characters?

It turned out Flamenco Dancer was a Series 6 minifigure.

Do you remember when the Series 14 list was found and Grim Reaper was among the characters?

I think that was a translation error.

I actually remember this, I think it was in the S@H description and they accidentally added it in.

I think that was a translation error.

The point is.... they didn't need to translate Banshee because it's the same word in italian, french, spanish, czech, german, english, ...

It doesn't make any sense that they translated Banshee as Smrtka (Grim Reaper)

But I'm just guessing

Peter Pan! Let's hope for a Tinkerbell accessory!

I really hope this series ignores Pixar, Pixar is making so many sequels that they could put the figures in themes for those movies. I also hope it isn't too Princessy for those of us who collect the Disney Princess theme

Another themed line? They are probably out of ideas for CMFs

Which is so weird, there are tons of ideas. Chef, Queen, LEGO Employee, multiple animal suits, tons and tons more.
