Blondie-Wan Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) Hopefully we get some sets from the old movies. Even though the original sets still hold up well it would be nice to get the characters that were missing the first time around like Sallah and Toht. The female characters could also use some much better face prints since the original minifigures were a bit too drag queen-ish. I'm fine with most of the original faces, but given the trends in minifigure "updates" and redesigns in recent years, I think it's a given that pretty much any / all characters who appeared in the original line and reappear here will get new prints, even for the same costumes. There were numerous characters missing the first time around, most notably Dr. Marcus Brody and Sallah Mohammed Faisel el-Kahir - both completely absent from any sets despite not only being among the most beloved, fan-favorite supporting characters from the franchise, but also appearing in two movies each. Other surprising omissions include George "Mac" McHale and Professor Harold "Ox" Oxley, whom one would expect to be present given not only how many of the sets were based on the fourth movie, but how many of those sets were for scenes in which those characters appear. Less surprising but still noticeable absences include Chattar Lal, Toht, Dietrich, and Walter Donovan. And of course there was the complete and utter lack of any sets based on the TV show, and hence the absence of Anna Mary Jones, Helen Seymour, Remy Baudouin, and any number of other important characters. azog Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 With the new Indiana Jones coming out and if Lego gets the license again!!! This would be amazing especially because my first Lego set I ever bought was an Indiana Jones set!
Actor Builder Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Maybe it's different in the Indiana Jones fanbase... Logically so, yes. I'm done discussing this topic personally. Good talk.

And you just know that all of the figures are gonna be overprinted. I would hope to see a redone Indy- his face never looked very Harrison Ford to me. Neither does his Star Wars one, to be honest. And Brody and Sallah are just egregious omissions from the original line. We neeeed them! The perfect set to get them both of them in would be the tank from the Last Crusade. And who knows- I guess Sallah could make a reappearance in this fifth film, if John Rhys-Davies is still alive by filming. Old Sallah FTW! Edited March 17, 2016 by Junior Shark

Indeed, I'm still crossing my fingers for a Grail Temple Playset. And with the growing amount of Licenced themes other than Star Wars getting UCS/D2C sets, I think it's very possible we may be seeing an Indy UCS set in the future. I wouldn't be surprised at sets from the original movies being released (or re-released) with sets from the new movie. And you just know that all of the figures are gonna be overprinted. I think Sallah was meant to be in KotCS with a small cameo role at the wedding but John Ryhs-Davies felt there was no point in him being there for such a small role he declined it. So if he is offered a larger role in the film I'm sure he will take it.
Actor Builder Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 but John Ryhs-Davies felt there was no point in him being there for such a small role he declined it. Because John Rhys-Davies has high standards for his art. Because he's awesome.
Forresto Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Because John Rhys-Davies has high standards for his art. Because he's awesome. and is missing a finger as well!
Actor Builder Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 and is missing a finger as well! So is my uncle....Is John Rhys-Davies my uncle? That'd be awesome.
pittpenguin123 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 While the series still have potential, I think only a new film can once again reactivate this license. Unless, like others said, a reboot series try to repacture the classic scenes so that new LEGO sets would do them. Offtopic and spoiler: yes, the 4th film shows that Indy the titular character would never be given to another new hero. So not sure if a brand new story can be written just like SW7 having the old Han Solo. Well the 4th movie is ignored by alot of fans (dont blame them) and the comic once mentioned that short round would take Indy's place when he gets to old. they could go based off that for new films if they make any
BaneShake Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 We were neglected on a few great scenes the first time around. I'd love a Sallah, Marcus Brody, and Grail Knight inclusive set from Crusade. The tank would be nice too, but I can see how Lego would be a little more iffy on making it happen.
Actor Builder Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Really? Kids love tanks! That'd be a best seller.
CMP Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 The tank would be nice too, but I can see how Lego would be a little more iffy on making it happen. They made a set based on the scene where the Nazi soldier gets eviscerated by an airplane propeller. No reason for them to hold back now.
BlueberryWaffles Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I have almost all the old Indy sets, but would still buy everything if Lego remade a ton of scenes. Imagine what a $200 Temple Escape D2C would look like.
Local Knowledge Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Well the 4th movie is ignored by alot of fans (dont blame them) and the comic once mentioned that short round would take Indy's place when he gets to old. they could go based off that for new films if they make any I actually really like the 4th movie! But oh well back when I found out about Indy was in 2008, when the LEGO game released. I bought a few sets after that. I feel old now looking that it has been 8 years!
x105Black Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 More Indiana Jones stuff would be great. The Pratt rumor was around for a good bit, Pratt was even asked about it on late night talk shows. I would personally love to see the series continue with Pratt taking the lead, although having him take the mantle of Indy would be another story altogether.
Ardelon Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Excited for the film and hopeful for more sets. Put me in the camp of those that didnt think IJ4 was particularly bad. Maybe the transition from Indy to son/successor could be made like the new Creed movie spinning off from Rocky.
Forresto Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 What if Harrison Ford only took the role so they would kill Indy off?
Blondie-Wan Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 What if Harrison Ford only took the role so they would kill Indy off? Unlikely. He's always been enthusiastic about returning to the role and has always seen the character as having more facets to explore, unlike how he's typically seen Han. Moreover, I doubt whether Indy is killed off or not would affect whether LEGO sets are made. All that's important is that a new movie comes (well, and that it's not rated R).

One thing's for sure; in order to secure the future for the franchise, they need to kill him off and make Indiana Jones a title passed down through family.
CMP Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 One thing's for sure; in order to secure the future for the franchise, they need to kill him off and make Indiana Jones a title passed down through family. That is not what the word sure means. I really don't want them to continue making sequels when Ford stops reprising the role. I think prequels might be more likely in either case.
Blondie-Wan Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 One thing's for sure; in order to secure the future for the franchise, they need to kill him off and make Indiana Jones a title passed down through family. Erm... no.

HawkLord Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 What if Harrison Ford only took the role so they would kill Indy off? I had heard something along the lines that Ford only agreed to play Solo in TFA if they killed Solo off and he was given the go-ahead for another Indy movie. Again, speculation, because Ford dislikes Solo, but loves Indy.
BaneShake Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 The Tank scene's biggest dilemma is the way Lego tends to avoid making anything military-based. I'm all for the inclusion though.
pittpenguin123 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) It might happen Indy 5 footage leaked! they got a great actor to play him HHHHYYYYPE! Edited March 23, 2016 by pittpenguin123
