trooperdavinfelth Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 On the skellies leader, the balck knight from the Joust set is considered by the Lego site the army general.Speaking of Skellies, what happened to the Necromancer? So far we haven't seen him on the 2008 sets pics. Still, remember this?6+2+1=9. Let's see how many of them do we know about: 1)7037 Attack on the tower 2)7038 Troll Quote
TheFrisian Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Excellent sets *y* !Personnaly i like the ballistic in the ship thats reminds me battlefield 1942 :-D Which just proves to me that modern looking artillery like that is totally out of place on a medieval ship. 1)7037 Attack on the tower2)7038 Troll Quote
Shakar Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Beg pardon, Shakar, but we haven't seen a Troll's battlecar. We've seen a Dwarf catapult. Could this be a mis-print? I mean, the only two sets with a troll are the Dwarf mine and the Attack ship. I think a battlecar(bad name, btw. car is just wrong) could have some potential as a small set to get a troll nice n' easy. I said "that we know about", not that we have seen. While we still haven't got a pic of it, we do know about the existance of a set called "Troll's battlecar". Sorry if I wasn't clear. :-) Oh, and I agree with you on the "battlecar". A 20-30 Euro set with two trolls in it would indeed be amazing. Hinckley would be happy, so would I! *sweet* Regarding the "special surprise", I strongly doubt that it's 7036. He mentioned in a part of the article that we already got our hands in "a special sneak peek" at the 2008 line up: he was clearly referring to 7036 Dwarf Mining. Why would he call this special mystery set a "surprise" if we already knew about it? What I'm hoping for is a UCS Castle, huge, with lots of detail and with excellent building techniques used. As Gylman calls it, Castle Corner. Shakar Quote
Batbrick Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Thanks for that little update Shakar! :-) Where have you been lately? :-D I don't think that the very special item is the Dwarf's Mining, but I reckon said set is in the 08 line. Catalogs have stated it comes in less than a month but maybe that is only special release, I'm probably wrong (as always! :-$ ) but you might as well account for all the variables and say that we have a very special item to still see, and 1, or possibly 2 other retail products ;-) Anyway, if it was a big castle, who should it be? The skellies? The Trolls? The Dwarfs (not likely, they have a mine), The Crownies? (even less likely, they already have a castle) I'd go with skellies seeing as they don't seem to feature in these new sets much. TTFN! >:-) Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 29, 2007 Author Posted September 29, 2007 (edited) How 'bout Elves?! Doesn't seem unlikely to me that this special set could contain a sneak peek into the line of 2009, not entirely unlike the Dwarfs Mining -- only with Elves! Or, at least, a new faction of some kind! -Ikk Edited September 29, 2007 by Ikki o' Moopyville Quote

Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 29, 2007 Author Posted September 29, 2007 You can call me anything from Ikk to Izizly -- just be aware that I may start stalking you on those grounds. *sweet* An' of course, a new human faction would be most welcome! Robbers/bandits, forestmen, or another kingdom... oh, the possibilities. Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 wow, lots of pictures... My first impression is that the trolls are awesome. The dwarves are awesome. The orcs are cool, but the helmets look kinda spacey to me, they remind me of rock raider helmets. As has been said, 'bout time Lego made Warcraft ;-) I would like to see elves as well Quote

Robbers/bandits, forestmen, or another kingdom... oh, the possibilities. I've always had a soft spot for eastern cultures, so I'd love to see a new faction similar to Saracens, Mongols or Russians *wub* Anyway, the last 2 items will probably be the exclusives, and the special item will probably be a UCS. iamded Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 PS: How do I do quotes properly? :-$ Click on the thing shown below on the post you want to quote. If it is a UCS model, I wonder what it would be of? A giant Ogre? Or a S@H exclusive, a big set like the Cloud City set. Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I sincerely doubt we'll get any sort of UCS castle this year or next. It's just not something I think they'd see a big enough market in, and it doesn't exactly fit with what they're doing now. My bet on the "special item" would be a chess set, like the last castle set, but done "right" (meaning knights have HORSES). Bad Guys: Pawn = Goblin/Orc Knight = Troll (obviously no horse on this one...) etc. If a UCS castle ("Castle Corner" is a name I'm all for) were to come out, it would, IMHO, be completely independent of the current castle line. I'd love elves, and I'd place money on them being in the NEXT wave of castle, if there is indeed to be a next wave. Quote

How did I not see that? :-$ Thanks, iamded *sweet* I'd think the UCS would be either a huge detailed human castle, or something like a big dark tower, like Barad-Dur from Lord of the Rings. I personally wouldn't want a UCS though, as I wouldn't be able to afford it, and if I can't have it, I certainly don't want other people with it, rubbing it in my face with a picture review :-D I sincerely doubt we'll get any sort of UCS castle this year or next. I don't think that a chess set is too 'special', as it's been done before in the castle line. It sounds like it will be something very unique, the way they call it 'very special' and say 'wait and see'. Quote
Batbrick Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I am stalking you still iamded! And you had thought I'd given up! *skull* Also, iamded, I updated my profile info and you are included in it if you wanted to read it! :-) But still stalking! *skull* I would (no offense to people who would like this) dread a USC set coming out. I am a completest, with the exception of only a few I buy a set from a line I plan to complete. A USC would be expensive :'-( , and feel a tad unecessary. Also, an exclusive would be fine, despite the postage costs to Tasmania! :-( Now for a verdict from you guys: What would you like to see more: Forestmen, or Elves? TTFN! >:-) Quote
Batbrick Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Oops! :-| Forgot to say what I would like to see! For me it would be elves, for even more fantasy *wub* , great new figs and the fact that they would really just take the place of forestman, so no damage done! But I also think an evil, or another human faction would be very welcome. TTFN! >:-) Quote
TheFrisian Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I vote for Elves! First of all because this is a fantasy based Castle theme, and Elves would fit in a lot better than Forestmen. And since Elves have never been done before by TLC, I also think it would appeal to a much wider target group. But since I loved the Forestmen theme when I was younger, I certainly wouldn't mind if the new Elves faction was based on a forest theme. Just think of it, Forest Elves X-D Quote
iamded Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) Yes, I noticed that Batbrick, and your sig too. X-D I'm honoured, really. :-P I'd like to see another human theme. But elves sound good too, forest themed mind you. I got 1 small forest man set and I loved it. I'd like to see more buildings intergrated into trees etc. Edited September 30, 2007 by iamded Quote
Vader Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Guys we have a thread about castle 08 that a lot of these posts would be better off in, this thread is for the Attackship and not what you would like to see released. Quote

I thought I would ask first given my badluck at starting topics. What do you think *vader* ? TTFN! >:-) Edited September 30, 2007 by Batbrick Quote
TheCloneWalker Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Truly the Jesus of castle sets. The orcs are awesome, And the Mega-orc beating a drum is a very nice addition. The Orc emblem is nice and intimidating, and the armoured dragon is just... Gaaaahhhh.... Sorry, just had an orgasm from looking at it. Orcs On! :-D TCW Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Allow me to quickly correct you, The Clone Walker: Mega-orc is a Troll! Yeah, I'm surprised Lego went back into tribal culture with drums! :-P Still it's a great set, and I'm glad that mini-boats are making a comeback! There're two, for Pete's sake! :-D Quote
Shakar Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 This is a prototype: judging from the the pics Hinckley kindly posted, the goblin helmets apparently didn't make it to the final products and instead got replaced by Shadow Knights helmets (which is completely fine by me), the goblin torsos got replaced by new ones...I except more changes. I'd like the regular whip to be replaced by Indy's one for example, especially if it really is poseable like pics suggest. Shakar Quote
Joey Lock Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I really do like it And the Hull is Nice and long. But since when do Goblins sail Chinese Junks? Quote
