SavaTheAggie Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Texas Brick Railroad displayed at the Texas City Train Festival 2015 this last weekend inside the Texas City Museum. If you ever get a chance to visit, its worth the trip, I think. The Festival was a complete success, and our layout was pretty good. Below are some highlights. cgarison Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Amazing work! Great Job! We need some lessons on how to build 'fast' trains like those because in these parts our rolling stock does not move at that pace. Quote
Lego Dino 500 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Amazing work! Great Job! We need some lessons on how to build 'fast' trains like those because in these parts our rolling stock does not move at that pace. Liberally use graphite lubricant on the car wheel sets, build them somewhat light, and use large radius ME Models track for turns. You can also file away at the inside of the wheel sets if the wheel flanges stick on them. And for locomotives, put the technic together with the gears slightly loosened to minimize friction. Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 None of my freight is lubricated, andy locomotives have no gears. Some of them are lightweight, though. --Tony Quote
Lego Dino 500 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 That's pretty cool. I was going off the Lego train world record at a France LUG, which was around 26KPH. Quote
neonic Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Nice video Always great to see such a 'landscapes'. Always there's a lot to discover. That painter, in the begin of the video ... I must think of Bob Ross right away And the train, on the side-track...that 'Lego Friends' stuff' great. Did I see Stonehedge ... Quote
Wookiee Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 My girls would love the princess train. Any chance of some more pics of it on Flickr so i can borrow with pride the ideas. Quote
KlodsBrik Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I just watched the video. Your layout is just great. Even though its such a simple technique building rockwork and grass with plain grey and green bricks, it actually works. And some lovely buildings here and their. Especially love the minifigs watching the modeltrain layout. Quote
