Lind Whisperer Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 QM Note: Everyone ready? I think Karie might've said she had something to share with Immortalis? OoC: I'm ready... Quote
Kintobor Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 "No. My verdict is not yet made. I have just finished the last judgment half an hour ago... I don't want to make a snap judgment. Return home to your families, they must miss you. Tomorrow, the sky shall be entirely clear, should I choose one of you to lead. If you see rain tomorrow, then you know my choice has been made." Charon tears open a portal. "Go home, heroes, ambassadors. Thank you for coming, and I hope you enjoyed your stay here." "Yeah... about that." Karie responds. "I got something that needs asking, because everyone else is apparently not going to bring it up. I had a weird night last night. I saw you, and you apparently didn't remember me. However, I saw the destruction of a city. Not Eubric, just, some city. Did you have anything to do with that?" Quote
swils Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Thormanil and Arx, about to pass through the portal, share glances as Karie confronts Immortalis. They pause, curiously awaiting the dragon's reply, if any. Quote
Endgame Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 "What? I recall no communication with you last night. If you're asking if I had something to do with the vision. No. I did not. You've been to the Reflection Room. You know memories haunt this place. Perhaps one drifted into your quarters. Perhaps... Well, the other possibility is very unlikely. If you're asking if I ever wiped out a particular city...Well, you wouldn't be able to name it, would you. No. But if you saw it, it likely happened." Quote
Kintobor Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Karie nodded. "I see. No, I'm just very... well, I find last night's events very curious, is all." Karie waves her hand, heading for the portal. "One more question. What do you mean by "the skies shall be clear if I choose one of you to lead"?" Quote

Endgame Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) "I see. Well... thank you for your hospitality." Karie waves and makes her leave for the portal. "You are very much welcome." Jinnipher pouted her lips. "Tch. Don't believe him for a second, it was definitely a mind trick." She pointed at Immortalis. "You'd better hope I don't see you again anytime soon. It's going to ." "...Your stubbornness will push people away from you, knight. The ones who care. Farewell, heroes. May the dragons light fire to your hearts and carry them away." The group steps through the portal. There's a flash of white. Eschaton and its inhabitants shimmer away, and a dozen creatures pop back into existence just outside of Eubric, right where they were. It was mid-morning. "Thank you very much, heroes. Your service was appreciated." "Now, we just wait for Immortalis..." "It was *wheeze* really nice seeing all of you!" The heroes return the ambassadors to their place of residence. They leave off with Punii, who scurries into the dirt to his caver home with one last goodbye. People watched them as they were returning the representatvies to their houses. Whispering, chattering, gripping the papers they had read, panicking just a little bit... As the heroes return to the hall, they come across two men working on some sort of hutch. They turn around, and strikingly, the man in purple has only one arm. They looked very much identical - clean shaved, well built, taller than most. If it wasn't for the hair color and the missing arm, they would be indistinguishable. The man in purple smiles to the party's minstrel, before talking. "Hey there. I've met some of you before, right? The dragon I don't recall, and I certainly don't remember meeting any shades of any kind... But hey, one of the best parts about Eubric is its diversity, right? I'm Masson." "Gabriel. I've met some of you before too. Not the dragoon or mist man. And certainly not that moon elf, though I wish I could meet her." He goes over to Arx, and pets him on the head. "You remind me of another dragon I've met." What will the party do? Edited April 9, 2016 by Endgame Quote
JimBee Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Jinnipher scowled at Immortalis, but before she could shoot something back the party was whisked away. "Gabriel. I've met some of you before too. Not the dragoon or mist man. And certainly not that moon elf, though I wish I could meet her." Jinnipher grinned slyly. "Always the charmer, Gabriel. I was just thi--... well, I was just in Eschaton. Boy would I like to stick it to that high and mighty lizard." She tossed her hair. "So what are you doing here? Masson." She nodded at the one-armed man. "How's that sword treating you?" Quote
Endgame Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) "Of course. And I bet you can be a real succubus after you spend all day putting these damn things up, too." says Gabriel, gesturing to the hutch. "Old Big Blue still crying over his dead son? You better not end up like him, little guy." says the brown-haired man to Thrormanil's dragon. "Treating me just fine, thank you. I've had to use it more than I would like to today. Word of some dragon judge broke out over Eubric. People are scared. And when people are scared they either start a scene or start snorting pixie dust. Already had two overdose and kill themselves. The hutches were Gabriel's idea." "If everything goes straight to shit, I figured the homeless deserve a roof over their heads. Not really much else but a roof, but it's sort of shelter." "Old Big Blue still crying over his dead son? You better not end up like him, little guy." says the brown-haired man to Thrormanil's dragon. "Y'know, it might not be a bad idea to not make light of the giant dragon that's debating whether or not to wipe us from existence, until after he's decided if he's wiping us from existence.Just a thought..." So you've had dealings with some of this motley crew?" Siercon said jokingly. "Treating me just fine, thank you. I've had to use it more than I would like to today. Word of some dragon judge broke out over Eubric. People are scared. And when people are scared they either start a scene or start snorting pixie dust. Already had two overdose and kill themselves. Endgame Posted April 10, 2016 Author Posted April 10, 2016 "Yeah, I've had a few dealings with Heroica. And I think my brother married one of you guys, and it seems like he's in a bit of trouble with the missus." says Gabriel, amused. His brother shifts uncomfortably, awaiting his scolding. "Not anyone high profile. Lots of teenagers and drunkards, unfortunately... Tensions are high in this city, but I'm sure you've noticed. If an apocalypse comes knocking, well, people will snap. The city is already beginning to simmer. Add in some insane dragon's judgment, and it will all boil over. There have been reports, however, of a green masked man menacing some people... I'll have my hands full tomorrow, that much is sure." Quote

At least Immortalis was... hospitable? For now?" Karie grinned in attempt to stay calm, even though the thought that Immortalis was coming made her queasy. "Yeah, been a while. "Yeah, cut his head off." She rested her hand on The Beheader's hilt. She crossed her arms and tilted her head as Gabriel leaned against the post. "Look, Immortalis is all about showing off but he's still a big old lizard. It's going to take more than a few of us to take him down. Why don't you and your brother help us if it comes to it? You'd be better off than building shelters for people to die in. Since when did you get so soft in the heart anyway?" "Yes. Retreat. "Are you that much of a coward? Really? "Allegiance has nothing to do with it. I have a great distaste towards being erased from history." "It's not as if you're making any history to begin with. My guess is that I'll be seeing you soon, then, but bye for now." The Cour brothers return to work. The heroes return to the hall, filling with dread... --------------------------------------- The next morning, on the outskirts of Eubric.... The storm had awakened. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The heroes gather in Heroica Hall the next morning. Rain pounds on the roof and windows. There's the occasional burst of lightning, followed by the low rumble of thunder... The Dragonlord seems tense. "It seems Immortalis has made his choice. And it is not one we can allow.
