Flipz Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 "Very well, then. But let the record show that we tried to end this in peace." Arthur stows his halberd, extracting a new weapon in its place. He twirls both of his spears before leveling them at his target. "Vaermina's mine. En Garde!" Arthur attacks Vaermina with his Spider Leg Spear and then his Dauntlet Index, both from the Back Row. Miirym uses her breath on Corvis twice from the Back Row. Quote
Asphalt Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 OOC: Vindsval is immune to Dark and Demonic enemies so he should not have taken any damage from Telethia. Quote
Flipz Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Miirym suddenly notices Vindsval's lack of injury and nudges her partner. "<Arthur,>" she prompts, nodding towards the Paladin. "...right. She's all yours, Vindsval--unless you'd like the help? I could do some serious damage to Corvis if we're willing to take a risk. Let me know and I'll direct my attacks where needed." Quote
Asphalt Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 (edited) Vindsval flicks the blood Ichor? from the dead angel from his blade. Vaermina, we did not choose this fight. Your friend has already fallen, we will continue until all of you have fallen or fled. One of our sides will be decimated by this fight. Do you not feel it pointless? We fight to save our city. What do you fight for? "...right. She's all yours, Vindsval--unless you'd like the help? I could do some serious damage to Corvis if we're willing to take a risk. Let me know and I'll direct my attacks where needed." You see, we are a team. Arthur, Do your damage, this time I will go for the Mouthpiece. But first, allow me to stack the odds in our favor. Assuming Vindsval is healthy. Action 1 Vindsval Throws a Jarate Bomb (fragile to all enemies) from the back row. Endgame Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 OOC: Clarification on the Barrier. If a character is not hit does the barrier still stand indefinitely? QM Note: Correct, but it ONLY protects from hits/special hits - Poison, Curse, Doomed, etc will all still hurt, and multi hit attacks can wear down the barriers quick. Quote
Flipz Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 "<Vindsval, with the Smelling Salts and Karie's Rapid March together you will have time to act three times this Round. Using the bomb you had planned to throw prior to your attack would be most advantageous.>" Quote

Asphalt Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Many thanks Miirym, I am still growing accustomed to fighting along side a Bard of the old tales. OOC: edited my action Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) Siercon finished with his confusion pulse, "Do you all not realize that immortalis sent her here knowing that it would kill her..." Whatever, he thought and rushed over to the right flank... I'll let all them sit for now.. He thought. with that he went against gray angel D. He pushed forward and thrust at him with svens dagger. Twice. Front row, svens dagger, gray angel D channeling darkness and etherial opal. Repeats for second attack unless rolled shield for first attack or angel is dead. if so then second identical attack is applied to left flank white angel B. If at any point siercons new found barrier is removed he switches and further assaults are carried against Vaermina same assault. Siercon loved fighting in flanks. And running around bouncing from opponent to opponent as they were already in deadlock with others. Was the most fun. Trying to tip the scales until they domino... Was probably the best thing about skirmishes. Edited May 17, 2016 by Siercon and Coral Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) First Action: Lind attacks Corvis with Gladius. Second Action: If Corvis is still alive, Lind repeats, if he was KO'd by the first action, Lind changes to Glaz. If Lind rolled a SHIELD as his first action, he rests. OoC: Since I rolled a SHIELD, Lind should have stolen everything that Corvis was carrying. Edited May 18, 2016 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Flipz Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 OOC: Okay, something weird is going on with Arthur's damage calcs. Corvis is down either way (non-fatally if Arthur or Miirym struck the final blow) because you forgot one of the x2s Arthur should have done on Corvis and because Miirym attacked from Front Row this Round, but here's how the damage calcs should have gone: 20+42+3(Tin Gloves give me +2 Power)=65*2(Humanoid)*2(Holy)*2(Encouraged)*2(Dauntlet v. Humanoid)=1040. Last Round, Miirym's SHIELD on Corvis should have done 20*3=60+42+3=105*2*2*2*2/2=840 damage, leaving Corvis at only 1848 at the end of last Round; this Round, her SHIELD should have dealt 20*3=60+42+3=105*2*2*2*2*2=3360 damage, most definitely knocking Corvis out. OOC 2: Actually, Lind's damage is off as well, he should have done 132 damage last Round (leaving Corvis at 1782 total last Round) and 696 damage this Round. Lemme run the numbers...nope, Corvis still had 46 health after Lind's attack, Miirym and Arthur still got the non-fatal KO. Quote

OoC: I was just about to post about that - I think Holy/Humanoid might have only been multiplied as a single x2 multiplier, instead of two separate ones?New battle actions: First Action: Lind attacks Glaz with Gladius. Second Action: Lind repeats, unless he rolled a SHIELD as his first action. Quote
Flipz Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Even as Karie's and Glaz' magic both fade, Arthur and Miirym press onward against the enemies, Arthur battering the angel heavily but not quite enough to knock him out. He sees Lind slip past him, and the Dragoon fears the angel may now be dead, but against all odds Corvis survives the strike. Under the cover of Miirym's shadowy breath, Arthur clubs Corvis with the butt of his spear, knocking him unconscious, before pressing both of them to the ground to avoid Miirym's explosive breath as she ignites it with her claws, the Dragon seeming immensely pleased with her execution of the trick she had learned from Vorpalis. Arthur quickly rolls to his feet before sprinting back to the Heroes' lines. "Suggestions, Karie? I've got a Grand Tonic I could use on you, or we can keep going against Glaz or even Vaermina. Your call." Quote
Asphalt Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Vindsval watches as his bomb takes effect, sapping the strength and vitality from his opponents, making it all the easier for them to fall beneath their blows. He especially watches Arthur and his dragon with fascination and respect. There is great power in that teaming. Great Power indeed. You see your friends and underlings fall before you Vaermina, will you continue to force them to their doom? Stay and face us if it is your will, but command these others to leave. They need not perish because of your devotion to the Wrym father. What say you lady? Will you release them, or shall my companions. First Action Vindsval Attacks Vaermina from the Front row with Slasher Second action Vindsval Attacks Vaermina from the Front row with Slasher OOC: Shouldnt Vindsval still have barrier 2? JimBee Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 OOC: Jinnipher should've targeted White Angel A with Beheader twice, not A then B with Brine Blade. I think she should also still have Barrier 2. "Now we're really kicking megablocks. Keep at it! I'll finish off these grey ones, boys." Jinnipher swung Beheader at Gray Angels E and F in the back row. Quote
Endgame Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) QM Note: Dauntlet index gives a doubled WP against humanoids - I am really sorry if it was not clear. That's why the effect is stated directly after the WP stat and does not use the word "damage" in it. I will recheck my other calculations, though, I think you're right that I've been failing to run Miirym's damage right. Although it seems like you are combining Miirym and Arthur's damage, then running the multipliers on the numbers combined... I don't believe it works like that? Unless you're condensing the calculation somehow. I'll go back and check Jinn's targets, but Octavyn's corseque barrage halved everyone's barrier. QM Note: Okay, re-ran the damage calculations, and I was forgetting some multipliers! My numbers said I had neglected to give out roughly 1400 damage, not the massive 4000 ish you described... He's non-fatally knocked out either way. Jinnipher's targets and damage have been fixed as well. Anemos watches Corvis fall. "So. What's the idea here? What do you think leaving him alive will do?" Gabriel watches someone else intently - namely, Miirym. "Say, little dragon. It's funny. I remember killing a dragon using that exact same technique... And I hardly think it's common." JimBee Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 OOC: The way the rule for flanks is written is pretty confusing... I would've assumed Octavyns special would have only struck heroes in the front flank, but I guess you have it worked out. Even so, Jinn should have Barrier 1 because Angel A is enamored and can't attack her at all. Quote
Endgame Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 QM Note: Yep, you're right about the enamored thing - fixed. Quote

OOC: Ahh, I guess Zeph's been running it wrong all this time. Not sure what you meant by adding Arthur's and Miirym's damage together...? I just know that on a SHIELD, Arthur hits first and then Miirym follows up, the calculations are run separately and sequentially. "We don't just want to defeat Immortalis' might and army--we want to defeat his argument. Metaphorically de-fang him on the negotiation table, and he'll have no self-righteousness to stand on, making him less willing to fight in the first place. Essentially, we can win the battle before it even comes to blows." "<An Elder Dragon taught it to me in the afterlife--he said I would need it. It has proven most useful.>" Edited May 18, 2016 by Flipz Quote
