Endgame Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 The party sets off for the Judgment Hall. They weave through the ivory columns and arches of the neighboring foyer, and the hush of the Silent Hall leaves them ot their increasingly dire thoughts. They could almost still hear the rain and thunder cascading upon Eubric... Finally, they reach the Judgment Hall. Charon was waiting there. Siercon had been here once before. He walked through this path, watched by Immortalis, the huge blue basins of fire making the pillars cast imposing shadows. With the huge stained glass windows looming over them, it seems as if his room was designed to both astonish and intimidate. The latter certainly applied, with the archangel lurking there. "I think we've all been having a pretty rotten day, huh? You've been under a lot of stress, my girlfriend is dead, poor Masson's HQ burnt down, my friend was revealed as a traitor... Honestly, only one of my grievances are your fault, and while a lot of yours have us to blame. So I really do apologize. But let's not dwell on that. We have other, more important, matters on the table. Immortalis usually makes me vow not to kill, to hold back. My powers are... Lethal, even to the touch. I have never told you just what archangel I was before I suffered my fall, did I? Well..." Charon lifts his cane, which was always a suspicious tool - he didn't need it for walking. And yet, as he lifts himself to full height, the party realizes for the first time how imposing his stature was. Without hunching over his cane, he was easily seven feet tall. He draws a finger across the walking stick, and the oak rod hardens into a steel black... before an ethereal blade erupts from it, brimming with power. With a flick of his other wrist, a scimitar appears in his left hand. His whole body, even his helmet, seems to shimmer and change, revealing his true form... "I wonder how well you will do against a former Archangel of Death?" Quote
Flipz Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) "I'm holding you to that comment." Karie replies, trying to keep morale up. "If the floor doesn't try and and attack us, I'll be thoroughly dissapointed." "...what is it with this organization and fighting floors? Does one of the Veterans have a floor fetish or something?" Charon lifts his cane, which was always a suspicious tool - he didn't need it for walking. Arthur equips his Macabre Collar in place of his Clothes Hangar, the Mail of the Renegade Commander in place of his Tin Armor, and his Fur Leggings in place of his Tin Gloves. He also uses a Nostrum on himself. "Wonder away. But for your sake, Miirym and Arx had better be unharmed." Arthur glances back at Thormanil. "Hey, Thormy, care to borrow this Tin stuff? Even just a couple pieces would let you handle a few more hits." On impulse, Arthur carefully pulls out the Eschaton Flowers and waves them lightly, as he had when he'd first received them. Asphalt Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 The Floor? Jest or past experience? Vindsval grins as the angel changes shape. Ahh, it is good to see who we truly face. Well met True Face of Charon. He draws his new Crystal Blade and Casts Venom on it. When the spell is complete he Drinks a Mead. If it is within my power, I will release you from your suffering Fallen One. Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Siercon fastens on the crystow feather. And grips svens dagger and the ethereal opal. (Activly using only his defensive items) [feather, cloak, robe] "We would've expected nothing less... As the fallen former archangel of death... Perhaps you and your former master will be reunited. im sure he anxiously awaits to collect your soul. Actually, I think he's just outside these doors..." Siercon said waving behind the party Quote
Kintobor Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 OOC: Can we please get a stat check before the presumably upcoming fight? A sliver of fear slithered up Katie's spine as she withdrew her guitar. She spoke to the angel, not directly looking at him, instead focusing at rolling up her sleeves and tuning her guitar. "I personally have nothing more to say to you, Charon, other than let's get this over with." As she finished, she glared at Charon, still intimidated by what was before her, but confident in her abilities. Quote

Flipz Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) OOC: I am not, in fact, supposed to have two Mail of the Renegade Commander, nor should I have two Shadeaux Cape. I should also have the Dauntlet Index and Blue Hand Shield "equipped", but other than that I think everything is set. Sorry to hear about your canine friend. "Your dragons are safe and sound. If only I could say the same about you..." "Yes, yes, I'm sure that if we keep walking down this path, we're gonna have a bad time. Look, I'm cold, I'm hungry, I've been up all night, at this point I just wanna go home with my daughter and hug my mother and brother, so if I have to beat some sense into Immortalis to make him stop this stupid storm, I'm going to do it, and if I have to get through you first, then so be it. I think I can speak for everyone when I say I'm sick and tired of your oh-so-ominous attitude, so let's just get this over with, 'k? K." Edited June 25, 2016 by Flipz Quote
Asphalt Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) OOC: Vindsval should be wielding the crystal sword and cast poison on it. He also cast poison on Thoranil's weapon. Due to the medal of glory he should be at 32 2/4 levels. And shouldn't he have some tonics? Vindsval chuckles in spite of everything at Arthur's outburst. Well put Arthur, let us end this posturing. How is it you human's say? It is time to put your metal where your Mouth is Charon. Edited June 25, 2016 by Asphalt Quote
Kintobor Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Karie downs to Grand Tonics and a Grand Potion, shaking her head afterwards at the taste. She doubted she'd ever get used to it. She topped that off with a Mulled Wine and a whiff of a Smelling Salts. "...so let's just get this over with, 'k? K." Karie grinned. "Seems I've rubbed off on someone." Quote
