Now that's a serious build - 4080 pieces! I had completely missed it, until I saw the posts today about it everywhere. It looks pretty amazing and cute! I also like that the interior is rather lush with its many quotes on disney-films and looks pretty solid too and not just like a facade, as you should expect in that price-range.

All in all, I find it of course lightyears away from a sensible pricing, but that aside, from a sheer aesthetic point of view, it is very lovable and i see some pretty neat building ideas on it. It could definitely have more minifigs though.

It is Rapunzel's hair.

A strange choice... her hair was cut by a shard of a mirror, not by scissors, and turned reddish-brown rather than black. Mulan would make more sense with black hair, but again her hair wasn't cut by scissors, but by her father's sword!

Yes, it's very expensive- still, at least there is a 'castle' this year. Perhaps the mini figs would be worth something to make it better as a parts pack. They look quite similar to the collectable ones though. In my mind, this is how Lego is making up for disappointing year for classic castle fans.

Is it just me or someone is just way too happy with this set?

The irony that the only castle-sets* this year are either a giveaway or a superexpensive megacastle

(*Nexo Knight has nice villains. But not much else for me.)

Everybody seems quite annoyed at the minifigures, but I've been wondering. Since they made all those rooms for all major Disney princesses/characters (aladdin, beauty and the beast, sleeping beauty etc), would it be safe to assume that this set might later on turn out to be a "shelf" set in which one can expose his Collectible minifigures? Seriously though, when looking at the beauty and the beast room, they clearly put in two studs for minifigures. Now, one may argue that those aresimply there to offer another spot to pose the included figures, but what if, we end up getting a second disney series and all rooms will overtime be filled with their appropriate characters? That would make up for an amazing play-set and would make a terrific marketing tactic!

It looks great to me. It doesn't have everything that I wanted, but it still meets my lofty expectations. I'm excited for what this means for a possible expansion of the "Disney" theme - will we see the Disneyland / Sleeping Beauty's Castle, maybe a Main Street façade, possibly some of the smaller, classic / iconic rides like Dumbo, Teacups, etc or a Disney railway?

Wonder if there is any chance of a polybag to fill in a missing character like they did with the Batcave?

Now I see the Cinderella shoes from very close, I'm pretty sure we are gonna have a ragged Cinderella to fit with the shoes (so Princess Cinderella in series 2?)

I see this is the answer to my question I posed back in the Disney Collectible Minifigures thread, regarding the pink dress version of Mini Mouse. If you want the more traditional red dress version, be prepared to shell out so serious cash.

I see an awful lot of either stickered or printed panels.

Missed a lot while I was at work today.

Hey, look at that! I guess all that whining about a set called Cinderella's Castle not having Cinderella turned out to be pointless since the set isn't called Cinderella's Castle. It's almost like AFOLs like to complain about things before they even have their facts straight or something.

I guess so. I was led to believe that the set was called Cinderella's Castle, and in that moment my complaints were justified.

... the back of the box refers to it as Cinderella castle vs the front as Disney castle.

There's also that.

What.... A .... Beautifull ... Shields.....

The best ever created by TLG

Those really are fantastic shields. Too bad they'll be far too expensive from BrickLink scalpers.

I hope they're printed. I don't like stickers.

I won't mind if they're stickers though, since that would mean I won't have to shell out big bucks for them.

Weird that is listed under the Disney Princess theme.

Indeed. Especially since there are no Princesses or minidolls.

Wonder if there is any chance of a polybag to fill in a missing character like they did with the Batcave?

Cinderella would be the obvious choice.

Yes, thank you J4ck, I thought so myself. But I hoped for some confirmed information. For now, having you posting every second entry in most themes is getting a bit tiring. Are you competing with someone?

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed.

In my mind, this is how Lego is making up for disappointing year for classic castle fans.

It's a nice castle, but pretty far from Castle.

There is old and new version of the book, the new one is stickered ("fairy-tale book element with printed cover").

I can't wait to see the magic carpet, I wanna see if the reuse the same printed piece from the Disney Princess set.

I just googled image Rapunzel with brown hair but "features a chest containing brush, scissor and lock of black hair elements" so is this really about Rapunzel ?

Ohh, this! That's clever, I actually think it might be Mulan now. Maybe it could be Rapunzel's from after her hair is cut off, we'll need an explanation..

. It looks like they are stickers to me- printing is generally closer to the edge of the piece, those look like stickers to me.

Well, with the nice shields, I think it could be pretty easily repurposed. I meant specifically as a parts pack after selling the Disney themed mini figures.

It's hanging on the left on the inside and no, it doesn't use the princess piece.

I'm surprised you guys would want Goofy, Cinderella or any exclusive minifig in this set. If the entire thing was devoted to Cindy, I would think she and the step sisters and godmother would be the only ones included, but it's more of a theme park set, so it seems like the costumed variants they included make the most sense. Goofy and Cindy as $5 CMF figures seem like a way better deal than $40 on Bricklink.

As for the set itself, it looks like a fun build the way a 5000 piece puzzle looks, but I don't leave my sets displayed for more than a month, so taking that big b**tard apart and putting the box somewhere it would fit like under my bed would pretty much be all I ever got out of it. Seems way too busy for my tastes. That said, the next time double points rolls around, I might buy a few of these and store them away for a couple years, cause I can see, Disney fans being the way they are, these things bringing Green Grocery prices on the secondary market.
