Donald was banned in Poland for wearing no pants! Maybe this packaging was made especially for Poland!

Yeah, sure. Very funny.

What the hell are you talking about? Donald always has been one of the most popular Disney characters in Poland. The comic books based on Mickey and friends are called Donald Duck here. He has never been banned for any reason.

Do not spread lies and misconceptions that make Poland look like some kind of backwards country.

It's not meant to offend Poland, it's just something that happened. Besides, it was Finland, not Poland.

The packaging difference is odd, though. Why does it matter?

It just for the trivia

As far as I can remember, this has only happened before with The LEGO Movie series bag

It did? I don't remember that.

I might have overreacted. But mixing up two diffrent countries is bound to lead to some confusion.

Returning to diffrent packaging, my best guess is that one version is for Europe and the other is for States.

Sorry, I think I'm confused. I thought I saw a cgi of the bag labeled as "Series 12" but now I can't find it  Maybe I'm crazy

I don't understand the lack of love for Capn' Hook. The only *problem* I see with him is the teeth. But his hairpiece and body are just very well done. He's among my faves.

I never really noticed Ursula's black toros until now, and like some of you have pointed out it doesn't look good. I wonder why they didn't just use a lavender torso and had black printing on it.

If that happened, then people would complain about her not having torso printing. There's always something wrong.

Maybe Ursula's torso would look too skimpy if it were lavender with black printing?

The situation reminds me of the S15 Ballerina. Mind you the yellow on her torso isn't exact, but it's better than white printed on yellow. Same principle applied to Ursula, same result - though it seems dependent on what colors are used that make the mismatch noticeable.

They could have given him a moulded head.

Terrible idea. His head doesn't look the best, but molded heads for humans always look awful. Well, that's my opinion anyways.

I'd guess because they don't print on the sides of torsos, and they figured it was better to omit the smaller section of lavender at the top than the larger black section that would run from the middle to the bottom. Had the gone the other way, in a side view the big rectangle of lavender cutting down into the lower body piece would probably be more conspicuously "wrong" than a relatively smaller black part at the top is now, particularly with the arm covering part of it anyway.

The only ones in the series with molded heads are animals or aliens. Even Buzz got a standard head. Lego has no prior example of given humans molded heads, as far as I'm aware. Too much action-figure-like detail makes characters look non-Lego. IMO.

This. This is 95% of the licensed forums.

It is an urban legend.

From wikipedia:

"There is a popular urban legend that Donald Duck was once banned in Finland for not having any pants. This myth was sparked by an incident in 1977, when Helsinki councilman Markku Holopainen proposed discontinuing the use of city funds to subscribe Aku Ankka comics for youth centers, due to city's financial difficulties. The following year, Holopainen was running for a Parliament seat, when his opponent called him as "the man who banned Donald Duck from Helsinki". Holopainen lost the election."

Sorry,I just read this trivial fact on a random site with little sources ( which was also wrong when I returned as it said Poland for some reason) ,it was just a joke and not meant to be offensive.

Actually, they gave Buzz and all of the Toy Story crew molded heads when they did sets a while ago. I personally didn't like that look, and I'm glad they did them this way for the minifigure series. I hope that this trend continues.

Why did they keep the same hole in Mickey's head that they have for Minnie's head that is used for her bow tie? It just makes him look even worse then he already does...

It's the same mold

They wanted to use it for both characters to save some money

That makes sense. I just hate the way it looks. I mean, include a hat accessory or something to cover it. Bleh. They really dropped the ball with Mickey.

Not liking some of the issues those pictures reveal--not that I'm ungrateful to have pictures, thanks FluffyBunny77

Ursula looks worse and worse every time I see her. :cry_sad: I hope that by the time I have her in hand, she's not the worst minifigure ever, as opposed to my initial best impression. But I think the most important issue is just the quality of the wave as a whole--the print quality is not there. Putting aside the messed up Pan face print example, that Peter Pan minifigure has some of the worst quality printing I've seen on an official Lego piece. Out of alignment, colors showing through, colors don't match--knives can't choose between first and second place. Everything is wrong.

For being a combination of two the the worlds greatest companies, I'm shocked at how poor the quality control is. :look:
