So J2G is saying its reals:

http://www.eurobrick...c=104386&st=700

So...

You know, he said that it was legit from the beginning, it's just that most people didn't believe him because of what day it was, so this doesn't change anything. There is still the chance that his source might have been pranking him, but J2G seems to trust his source, so I trust him. Maybe just because I really, really want this to be true. We'll just have to wait until some kind of confirmation surfaces. I wonder what the chances are that they might announce this at D23?

I'm only interested in a Disney series if it focuses on the Animated Canon. That way we can get villain characters, and maybe minifig representations of the Princesses? If it's Mickey and co,, I'll pass unless there are some nice parts.

Doesn't Mickey count as "animated canon"? I don't see why they can't do both. However, I doubt that any live-action properties will be included, mainly because we already had a whole line based on the only one that was ever truly popular (PotC) as well as two not so popular ones (PoP & LR).

-no simpsons stuff are rumored for 1st half of 2016

In the first half??

So, does this mean The Simpsons CMF could return in late 2016???

That would be the DISNEY CMF in may, followed by a Simpsons CMF in september

I am guessing just2good knows what we are getting in the first half of 2016 but not after that. Because we are missing some main characters from The Simpsons I think there will be another wave but that was my logic after the second wave of LOTR so who knows.

It does seem like Lego are moving onto new licences all the time.

I really don't like when they replace their own themes with licensed themes.

They did it with Castle and LOTR, and it seems the CMF theme is being replaced with licensed themes.

I must be the only one that was happy to see cmf slow down a bit, thought when it got to 10 that they should go on with so many every year.

Wow. Disney mini figures!

That would be awesome. And some broader Disney sets, like a Disneyland Castle or some of the Main Street buildings would be even more awesome!

I'd love this to be true, but as ever I believe nothing until there's official confirmation. There are so many that I'd love, even just going from the "Animated Classics" labelled films there's enough characters for a few waves of these. I Imagine it would be a mix of the animated films and standard mascot characters.

Even without interest in the characters it couod be worth checking some of these out for new accessories that could be introduced as a result.

If we get any of the emotions, Disgust is likely, since she can reuse Black Widow's hair. Judging by that image, though, so could Sadness!

I have to say a Disney CMF would be pretty awesome, granted for Pixar I'd really only want the Incredibles, maybe Inside Out. Animal characters would look weird in minifigure form, so that kind of takes several Pixar characters off my list. And I don't need Toy Story again. Monster's incorporated probably wouldn't work in minifigure form either.

It would be nice to get some classic characters too, Alice (1951 version) and Cinderella (2015 version) would be pretty awesome. Overall I'd like to see a mix of franchises for this CMF, a little bit of everything.

Not sure how a series go. Although there are tons of classic Disney/Pixar characters, they have potential of getting mutiple series, but we can't really expect non-classic characters to be in the very first series. Besides, small beings like these and Tinklebell have some real size issue.

I'd say that newer films should get some regular sets, while older classic characters could have better chances to be in CMF series.

Now considering LEGO's new cooperation with WB who is completely against Disney, I kinda worry that even if this comes true, it wouldn't get good treatment from LEGO.

Joy could use the skater piece in Blue, i think Anger would require a new mold

I think Joy, Disgust, and Sadness could be standard minifigures, but Fear and Anger would require new molds. Joy would need new hair, but Disgust could reuse Black Widow's, and Sadness could use the Friends hair used for Olivia's mom.

If they did Inside Out, I doubt any would be non-minifigs. New head molds for Anger and Fear, maybe, but Anger could just use short legs and Fear would be fine. They've used the same minifigs for fat and skinny characters for how long now?

Regardless, I would think such a CMF theme would be focused on Pixar. I could see them doing a Disney Princess set as well, but I don't think they'd probably mix the two into one series. Plus, if they did a Princess series, I have a feeling they'd go with Minidolls, so they'd fit in with the sets. But hey, I'm not gunna complain either way. More Disney characters! :D

I knew it! Well, it wasn't even posted on the April Fools day. I'm just sad because we won't get any more regular CMFs, while there were so many unused ideas. :sadnew:

Yes it was. Time zones. Anyway the real question is, did it start as a joke that coincidentally turned out to be true, or was just2good just trolling us all along and the "joke" was that it was true but no one would believe it?

Princesses seems kind of unlikely to me. Why would Lego make the exact same characters they already released in the Friends Princess line? Sure they would be minifigures instead of dolls.. but I don't see that being enough reason to include them in a CMF line or in normal Lego sets. I would think Pixar and classic Disney characters more likely. I could maybe see a few princesses getting included if they do the male characters from a movie though, but not a whole line of just them.

Agree. After Series 13, the CMF theme went downhill :sadnew:

It would literally bring me a lot of Joy if they made Inside Out minifigs! Even though they would take up a third of a series if they include all five emotions in one series.

Agreed. I've been trying to recreate these characters in LDD actually and that's exactly how I made them (except for the Black Widow hair which is not available in LDD). I used the Spongebob head for Anger which works fairly well, but I would prefer a new head mold for him and Fear of course.

I think they could do Tinkerbell. After all, we have gotten out-of-scale minifigs in CMFs before, like the fairy or the garden gnome. Sure, she'd be out of scale with the rest of the figs, but so were the Toy Story Army Men. Disney wouldn't let scale inaccuracies get in the way of selling minifigs of one of their most iconic characters.

Princesses seems kind of unlikely to me. Why would Lego make the exact same characters they already released in the Friends Princess line?

Two words: part re-usage. They already have the hair molds for them, so it would be easy and cheap for them to make minifig versions of them and I'm sure there is a fair number of people who would want minifig versions of them, even if they already have the dolls. While I wouldn't want the entire line to be about princesses either, I certainly wouldn't mind if they were included along with other characters.

Maybe each series could have a theme? One could be Pixar, the next could be Princesses/Disney Classics, and then Mickey & friends?

Unless all future LEGO characters can mutually have both figure versions, so far it doesn't seem like that LEGO allow FOLs to freely switch figures based on the same character. Rumored Superheroines minidolls series could be a role model if it comes true.

I probably halfly agree with this. I agree with the part that the same charactes shouldn't possess two chances since many fan-favorite characters are expected to enter the CMF roster. The worst case would be that Jack Sparrow, Woody or Lone Ranger are chosen to be part of this.

However, like said, the figure type issue has existed for some time and LEGO should face it by all means. CMF series may not be the best chance, that means LEGO should do it in some other regular sets (maybe Junior sets) or figure collection sets before any possible Disney CMF series.

I knew it! Well, it wasn't even posted on the April Fools day. I'm just sad because we won't get any more regular CMFs, while there were so many unused ideas. :sadnew:

Licensed CMF series have its merits. The real issue is that how it compromises with regular series. I believe that there should be more CMF series in total of a year if things go like that.

You indeed point out some clear examples. So that means we'll see Chip&Dale stand along with Donald. Edited by Dorayaki

I dunno, I was just thinking about Disney movies with Princesses (or females) as the main characters. For instance Frozen. What is Lego going to do, release Elsa and Anna in a CMF line? Or make a normal Lego set with them in minifigure form? We already have the Sparkling Ice Castle so there is no point in making that set again. Why would Lego re-create it solely to include minifigures instead of mini dolls? It would be the exact same since it uses the same Lego bricks. Of course they could do other scenes, but idk.

You also have to remember Lego's main target is kids, NOT AFOLs. I don't see a lot of little boys clamoring to get princess minifigures. As for girls.. well they have the mini dolls which they seem to favor anyways. About the only ones minifigure princesses would appeal to is us AFOLs, and as we know Lego doesn't generally cater to us. Of course if it's a CMF line I could see them throwing in SOME princess figures, but like I said they would probably have to relate to the other figs in the same wave. For instance I could see them doing an Aladdin fig, Jafar, Genie, and then maybe adding Jasmine so they have the entire main cast. But ya, the CMF are usually heavily male centric anyways (about 2/3 males or more in any given wave) so I just find it hard to believe Lego would focus on princesses all things considered.

Just IMO, I would recommend putting both figure types in one set in the planning phase, which unlikely happens in Superheroes/SuperGirls sets. As for now, LEGO may only do minifigure collection sets or CMF series to make up for what they've done. Junior sets also seem like a good experimental theme for licenses.

I can just say that it's a series of decisions influenced by commercial factors. After all, it's not like that LEGO do try to involve minidolls with their minifigure marketing so that kids/consumers would say "some characters better stick to a specific figure type". If both certain Disney and SH characters get to have both minifigure/minidoll forms, it would be a sign that common consumers actually want to own their choices of figure types.

I can understand a choice of making a disney cmf series. It'll probably sell well too.

I hope not that lego's focus will be solely on licensed themes in the future though. But cmf series are pretty perfect for licensed themes because they are more about characters than great builds.

A disney cmf series in my eyes should be a mishmash of all kinda disney stuff to attract the most customers: mike and sully, pinocchio, mickey and donald, a few muppets, maleficent, marry poppins, winnie the pooh, nightmare before christmas stuff like that. That way it also feels like a regular cmf series. For everyone something interesting.
