What Hilt of LEGO Lightsaber you prefer?

Definitely chrome.

Why did TLG switch to the metallic gray color? I find that it wears off even faster than the chrome.

They use metallic plastic so how can it rub off?

I remember the old chrome stuff from back in the day would wear pretty fast.

Don't now if that has gotten better over the years but I have taken a liking to the gun metal black (as in Kylo Ren's hilt) and I like the new silver plastic too I think they look pretty good and will last longer.

But given the various other colors that piece comes in I just think any will do. It makes each Jedi/Sith you give one too that much more individual than all chrome on all of them.

90% of the blades i get have no air bubbles

In my collection I have white, black, gold, light grey and dark blue. I see from the thread that chrome is available, but are there any other colours like green or dark red?

Interesting thread. I'm becoming more partial to metallic silver as my go to. Chrome is very nice, but like every notes, its ruined rather quickly with play--I don't really have any in pristine condition.

There are a few colors missing, namely the new gunmetal hilts. It works very well for Sith, and looks amazing with Kylo. Gold is also noticeably absent. Style wise there's some missing too: Ventress's curved style (granted it's in light bley, which is a no go), and the Inquisitor's round gunmetal hilt. I actually really love that design (biased from my love of the show no doubt), but it does unfortunately limit pose-ability.

I used to have a ton of those chrome hilts, and they are my favorite, but as mentioned they get worn out very very quickly. I don't have a single one that's in reasonable condition.

The old shiny chrome silver is the best, it just looks beautiful. I have a few of them about the place - it makes my old Darth Vader minifig look great. The only problem with the old chrome is that the colour could sometimes chip off, leaving just a flat grey underneath it. Sometimes if you constantly took a lightsaber off a minifig and put it back in their hand again, their hands could scratch the chrome off. Personally I didn't mind this though, because whenever the figure held the lightsaber, their hand would cover any scratched parts.

The flat grey is pretty boring and doesn't do much to show that the weapon is a lightsaber, IMO. The new chrome hilts are okay, but I much prefer the shiny old ones.

I've only had one of my many chrome silver lightsaber hilts have the printing wear off. Star Wars-wise, the chrome silver is my fave, but I also luuuuv the new dark blue ones in Nexo Knights sets.

The poll at the top needs to include the new dark blues that the nexo night series introduced plus the dark brown :)

I like the metallic silver. The pearl gold is nice for a Sidious hilt, to give him something different. The gunmetal is awesome for Kylo & other darksiders (Malgus, Revan... I have a couple BrickForge hilts from before Lego produced their own in gunmetal, and while not as versatile as the Lego hilts, they still look great with a blade in the hands of a Jedi or Sith).

I have some old chrome ones, but never much cared for them. I wish they had Dooku's & Asajj's hilts in metallic silver, too.

Seeing the newer colors is interesting... The dark brown could work for wooden hilts, like for Gungi from TCW (tho reddish brown would be better).

I love the old chrome! I cherish the ones I have. But I can see why the stopped producing them.
