Tazakk Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Wowee. the creatures really sound like they're gonna outshine the new Toa, at least at this point. A spider with a thread winch abdomen? A snake with a constricting function? That's legit new and interesting stuff that they've never really attempted before. Basically this sounds like Master Builder Set 2.0. Quote
DraikNova Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) Yeah! Earth-themed spider and more glorious tr. purple. And a drill! Definitely picking both Onua and Terak up, and probably Ketar since I love scorpions. And Umarak has one of the few color schemes using black that I actually like. Plus, he sounds like a remade Maxilos and Spinax. Fear the doom puppy of sniffing and slobber. I do already know that I want to mod Terak into a jumping spider, though. I might have to use a few suspension/shock absorber pieces for that, which, combined with a proper lever system, should be able to release a large amount of force. Not too sure how to keep Terak upright for the landing though. Hopefully the launch mechanism adds enough weight, considering the fact that I have no idea how to add a gyroscope. Really curious how they'll do Ikir's wrapping function. Edited August 12, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
Nekchir Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 So the masks will be the same but mixed with a trans-color? Explains why we didn't get a 'corrupted' Gali and Tahu mask this year, kinda. Quote
Scarilian Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) A snake with a constricting function? Out of all of it, this interests me the most given its difficult to do functions as it is, let alone with a protector-scale set. So if the masks use the same mold in what color they are? So the masks will be the same but mixed with a trans-color? Explains why we didn't get a 'corrupted' Gali and Tahu mask this year, kinda. "melded mask w/ secondary transparent color" Not entirely sure the exact connotations of that... He worded things differently over on the boards - decided to put all his wordings in the spoilers below; Ketar: Skull-scorpion esque, new boxy armor piece, new mask w/ pincers Ikir: Flame serpent w/ wrapping function, purple eyestalk Terak: Spiderlike, purple and black, gatling gun w/ white studs under mouth, wench for abdomen to hang on things with a white string Pohatu: 2 new axey-blade-dagger weapons, melded mask w/ secondary transparent color Bit bigger, Gali: 2 javelins, double gear function, boxy armor piece, new torso piece Tahu: New fire blades that are gold, better leg armor Onua: Similar to older version, linking weapons like 2004 Whenua, transparent purple armor Umarak the Hunter: Dark green transparent and black color scheme, houndlike pet on chain, weapon that steals masks also, as predicted, the toa masks still have the same 2015 mold Umarak has a double function weapon, it can transform. and he is like a smaller, extremely armored skull grinder. The toa masks are still the same mold, only recolors. Onua has a weapon, that can combine to a drill kinda like whenua Tahu kept his lower leg armor this time with armor addons though and he has new swords in gold and a bow as secondary weapon Ketar is a scorpion, he has a new mask with pincers Ikir is like a flame serpent with a "wrapping function" and has a PURPLE EYESTALK! Terak is like a spider (purple and black) with a stud gun where the mouth should be and has a white string to hang down from stuff like real spiders Pohatu has "axy-blade-dagger" weapons melded mask Gali has 2 javelins, double gear function, new torso piece (!!!!) boxy armor piece (also on some of the creatures) Onua is similar to the old version, but with the drill i talked about and PURPLE ARMOR Umarak: trans-darkgreen and black color-scheme, "houndlike" pet on chain, weapon for mask stealing lewa, uxar, akida and kopaka+melum were listed but had no pictures. Kalhiki Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I will laugh at all you guys if this turns out to be false. That being said, assuming these are factual, it sounds very promising. Black and Dark Green for Umarak I can get behind. And all the Creatures sound incredible. Quote
TwistLaw Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 [>implying the infos aren't fake] So my finding has a further confirmation, Umarak is black at least he has some green too, a combination I think we saw only with Umbra during G1. Also I'm greatly disappointed by the reuse of the same exact molds for the Toa masks. I fear these 2016 Toa will be even more clones of their older counterparts than the Nuva were in 2002. Quote

DraikNova Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 There's also the fact that Ikir is apparently built out of technic beams to facilitate his wrapping function. Quote

The difference is that they had something to add, these are just same builds with differently placed covers. I'm glad the golden masks are trashed. they destroy the color scheme. But what is the secondary mask? What they add to make up for the lack of the skullspiders? Quote

Maybe they scrapped the idea of a secondary mask and a skull spider and instead made the mask from three colours - it does mention a melded mask with a secondary transparent colour. Maybe that implies two transparent colours plus the normal colour. E.g. we'd start getting masks with three colours combined? two of which being transparent === Will try and talk with him more soon (Tommorow probably) and see if he can get his friend to clarify any details on what he means. There's also a change that they are new masks, there just isn't that much of difference. Remeber what they did with Hero Factory 1.0/4.0 and Brain Attack helmets? Quote
Quisoves Pugnat Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 That's exactly what I said, the Nuva were almost exact clones of the Mata with completely different masks. Which is why, conversely, the new Toa reusing their 2015 molds does not mean that their builds are rehashes. If anything, I'd think this would motivate the designers to make them quite distinct from their previous iterations. Quote
Mesonak Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I think it would be wise for everyone to take this with a heaping amount of salt until we hear more concrete details about the source. I find it incredibly difficult to believe that the sets were posted online, remained up long enough for someone to stare at them and memorize new details ranging from builds to weapons to FUNCTIONS, yet not save any of the pictures or even link them to anyone while they were up. This. Discussion should cool down a bit until we know more. On topic, when did we get leaks last year? As far as I know by august 15th we have pictures for most of the big themes. Quote

Quite. One must also wonder why they would be taken down. The only fathomable reason is that the site had some connection to LEGO, ala Eurobricks or BZPower, which begs the question of why the leaks were posted there in the first place, and, for that matter, why they were not re-posted elsewhere. The only fathomable reason is that the site had some connection to LEGO, ala Eurobricks or BZPower, which begs the question of why the leaks were posted there in the first place, and, for that matter, why they were not re-posted elsewhere. The "source" was shared with me privately; it's ExoForce.ru, the same site that first reported on the BIONICLE 2015 names last year in an article format. So, to play devil's advocate, it is not outside the realm of possibility for the sets to have been posted early, or accidentally, and then removed once they realized their mistake. This is a shop site, after all, and a similar occurrence happened with the first wave of Lego Minecraft minifigure sets (although not on the same website). That being said, it still begs the question as to why this person did not post or save the photos, and the fact that it uses a website that conveniently was the source of a small portion of last year's leak (although not pictures, mind you) only serves to attempt to validate this by referencing a site that has "been right before." SO basically I don't believe this for a second. Edited August 12, 2015 by Mesonak Quote

The most recent leak, the sharer provided the source site which is connected with Lego and has been for a long time and has been the souce of several prior leaks in the past. The website itself having a history with leaks. Twistlaw also just stated that Umurak is black and green supporting this leak. Though yes, as stated prior, we should remain skeptical until the leaked images appear. Exactly, the toyshop owner told me just about "one big black guy beyond those in the traditional colours", a guy that most probably is Umarak.
