bruh Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 How much torque does it have? I recently bought some, and I'm curious how they compare to some of the previous LEGO motors in performance. Quote
MarselusW Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 So, i am reading this threath back quite the few pages as i have a dead BW3.0 pro. If i have it connected to a charger it goes on and if not connected it does nothing. Does this mean i need to replace the battery to get it working again? Also updating is pain... the Nordic updates but the other one does not. Maybe that is because of the dead battery. Not sure. Any help is appreciated. Many thanks. Quote

It's been around two weeks since I sent the support ticket and I still don't have any response. Also could it be that your system didn't even store the support request? Quote

pankov Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) Good question ... but how would I know that? I never did receive any response or email from support (it was just a "Thanks for contacting us" on the web page itself) and since I wasn't sure I should have received something I never thought to ask again. Should I have received anything on my mail when I posted the issue on the BuWizz dedicated support page? btw how ishttps://buwizz.com/contact-2/ different fromhttps://buwizz.com/contact-support/ and should I have used the first one instead of the second one that you posted about here? pankov Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Great, now it worked and here is the ticket number: 13844 May be you should tell the person responsible for the website to remove the non-working web page because it definitely causes confusion and misleads the customers that they'll get support. NV Lego technic Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) My 2 Buwizz 3s have issues. When I enter a profile and try to drive it, they first don't respond and then start spinning motors at full speed, even when U exit the profile. Then when I try to turn them of, one goes into the Nordic boot loader mode and changes the ID and it shows the charge as empty, even though I just charged it. There is also severe delay in the app. I tried reinstalling it, but it still won't work. @Zerobricks do you know what is happening? Edited December 8, 2024 by NV Lego technic Quote

bruh Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I ordered a Buwizz 3.0 and two motor combo and added on two of the new micro motors on November 29. I know that it is very busy around that time, but they didn't even ship until December 10. Is that a normal wait time? Quote

bruh Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Ok, thanks for the reassurance. It’ll probably be here soon, I was just curious why it was so late Quote
bruh Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Hey guys another question: is the buwizz 3.0 able to hold programs like the spike prime hub? I am thinking of using it for something that can’t be remote controlled, it need to do it itself. Quote

I've never heard of that sort of thing being done with buwizz, and I'm not aware of any interface that would allow you to transfer code to it. Quote

NV Lego technic Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Where can I find the rules for Buwizz camp 2025? I think they said it will be before Christmas Quote
aFrInaTi0n Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I am very happy finally we are getting an update for the Buwizz app with some fixes, from their email-Newsletter: Quote BuWizz App update (3.4.5) We're happy to announce a new App release, 3.4.5, which offers multiple fixes and some new features, including: the power control can now also target BuWizz 3.0 Pro devices fix for using correct PID parameters for the gearbox control fix for storing center steer PID parameters fix for the issue of importing some profiles added the ability to import all profiles at once (zip of zips) improved disconnection handling while driving This release also includes a BuWizz 2.0 firmware update that improves the connection to multiple BuWizz 2.0 devices. The new BuWizz App for Android is already available on the Google Play Store. iOS release will follow shortly. So another project I need to schedule for the upcoming weekend. As I am an not always easy customer: I am very happy that we can finally see some works being put again in improving the app experience - Kudos and love! Quote
shroomzofdoom Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Anybody have the new buwizz micromotors yet? I REALLY like the form factor and general design except for one little thing... The axles don't stay in the motor and the resulting connection is very sloppy/imprecise. Am I the only one wishing there was a '+'? Maybe this was a mistake during manufacture? Quote

Am I the only one wishing there was a '+'? Maybe this was a mistake during manufacture? As far as I'm aware, these motors are currently using a 3d printed housing. Perhaps this axle hole design was chosen to minimise the variance between prints due to humidity, ambient temp, etc. Though the axle hole (in your photo) looks injection moulded, I cant see any layer lines... As a temporary fix, place some sticky tape, preferably the transparent white kind thats useless for anything else, over the axle hole. Then put whatever axle you want in like normal and it should hold much better. Maybe you'll need two bits of tape if its especially loose. I use the same trick to get axles to stay in metal U joints, since those have no clutch power either. Quote

It just seemed like a rather interesting design decision when all the competitors have a '+'. I was curious if there was a benefit I was missing. Seems to work on RC train motors, not so well here. Am I the only one wishing there was a '+'? Maybe this was a mistake during manufacture? Thank you for the form factor praise, I tried to implement as many connection features a spossible. Regarding axle hole, It's a feature, not a bug! I've designed the axle in same way as a train motor, so it acts like a safety clutch. So if you try to force spin the motor, it protects the internals from overloading and breaking. The small sacrifice of loosing clutch power and accuracy is worth protecting the internal gearing mechanism in my opinion. Edited January 30 by Zerobricks Quote
amorti Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Just to chip in on the "bw3 dead battery" issue. The box has an accelerometer which is used for "shake to wake". I guess that keeping that alive uses >0 amps, such that over a long time it would pull the battery below where a cell can be revived. @Zerobricks could you tell us more about the new disconnect feature mentioned in the app update? The lack of a failsafe in case of disconnects is what caused me and @aFrInaTi0n to set our RC motorcycle projects aside for ages. You can probably imagine what happens if a 25km/h motorcycle gets out of range and, as the previous software, just continues on full throttle. So it would be good for testing purposes, to know what we can expect it to do now. I assume if ping without pong, then stop all motors? Quote
