Minique85 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Thank you for another great review Sariel. I also see this model as a great part pack, and can't wait to assemble it. Are you also going to review the B model? Quote
Sariel Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 Are you also going to review the B model? Only after they make the instructions available. Quote
kolbjha Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Thanks for an excellent review! I was just wondering about the issues of the bucket wheel. Is the problem with it to little torque from the motor, or is it because of the design of the bucket wheel? Is it possible to improve the performance by modifying the angle of the buckets, for example? Quote
TechnicTobi Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 First of all I have to thank you for this great review, Sariel. Despite its flaws, I think that this is a really great set. The look of the bucket wheel excevator is very good for me, as it catches the spirit of heavy mining equipment or industrial plants very well. I think there are no bucket wheel excavators in service, which can be rated as good looking. Form follows function. The speed of the BWE is realistic for me (travelling, slewing), so it is good as it is. In terms of realism, TLG did a good job, in terms of playability, Sariel is right, of course. It is a pity, that the main functions of the set (digging and conveyers) are more or less sluggish. I expected that from the first time I saw the the video of the Nuremberg toy fair, but I hoped that TLG would fix that until the release of the set. And it was quite clear that one XL-motor will struggle keeping al the functions going (remember 42009, which is powered by only one L-motor). But, and this is a really big advantage of this set for me, it will be great for modding. Looking at the base, there is a lot of space for additonal motors for driving and steering and the same is true for the upper structure. I think this set can be made fully RC very easy. And hopefully, playability will increase and serious digging will be possible then (By the way: any ideas what to use for digging? Maybe corn or beans will work. 10 kg + will just be adequate... ). Another advantage for me is the sheer number of (very usefull) parts you get, what will help me to create a lot of MOCs I just can´t realise at the moment, because of missing liftarms and so on (e.g. crawler cranes). All in all, this set is a must buy for me. Quote
Alonzo Brickovsky Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I think set 42035 Yes, well... Thank you. Quote

Sariel Posted July 16, 2016 Author Posted July 16, 2016 @Sariel: Does the Arocs 42043 fit under the lower belt? I don't know, as I already told you at YT. Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 I didn't see any reply, so I post it here. Must be some kind of technical problem. Sorry if that bothers you. Quote
rollermonkey Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 (edited) Thoroughly disappointed in this review for one reason: You didn't dump all the bags out on the table at once? That should have been a 12-hour build, at least! Using numbered bags is cheating! Just kidding, awesome as always. Edited July 16, 2016 by rollermonkey Quote
