Commander Turtle Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I missed out on the Emerald Night and Maersk, and didn't buy the Horizon Express because it's in a really ugly colour. As such I've never seen a Creator train at retail I wanted to buy. I ended up getting the EN at retired prices, with a vague intention to sell at some point. If there are many others like me who couldn't stomach the Horizon, I can imagine it showing disappointing sales. They shoulda released the train from the movie, or have the bravery to put out another train now to test whatever hypothesis they have about them. Quote
Rail Co Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I disagree with this statement the color is realistic to the TGV so If you don't like the color you don't like the train in general is what was implied. You made it sound like it was the most disgusting thing you had ever seen by lego which it is not at all. Remember that these models have to be limited on what they can have as the need to be limited to parts and pieces. I believe that these models are absolutely excellent! Regard -RailCo Quote
THERIZE Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 its understandable tho. I also dislike the HE because of its colour. it fits the prototype but is imo to light. I think yellow like the TGV 'La Poste' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNCF_TGV_La_Poste) looks better, but maybe that is because I prefer yellow trains and the length also doesn't fit. making it longer would not be needed but just a little bit lower. I generally build my high speed trains in 4 high without the roof. but that is just my opinion. the short coaches do give it a 'more' LEGO feeling. Quote
leg01982 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I pondered buying the EN for about 6 months as I wasn't keen on the colour/look. But I decided to get 2, built it bad loved it :) Quote
Commander Turtle Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Err... which train from which movie? This train from that movie! Quote
jonwil Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Just supported that LEGO Movie train, already supporting the steam train box. Quote
JopieK Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Cute nice friends train ;) According to CM4Sci there will be a 40138 Christmas Train (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=113265). Probably also some kind of mini set when one has a look at the number. Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I'm thinkin we shouldn't hold our breath for the Friends Party Train... Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Unless you guys have some sort of set number you suggest I start searching at, there is nothing for you guys for 2016 (so far) Quote
THERIZE Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Unless you guys have some sort of set number you suggest I start searching at, there is nothing for you guys for 2016 (so far) it could be that there is an upcoming expert train that we just don't know now. 60098 was also a 'surprise' set that we didn't really know. plus with the fact that we are talking about the next year and we can only 'hope' for a new expert train now. Lego Dino 500 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 The Horizon Express is decent, it's just not what we've been looking for in a Creator Train. My ideal Creator Train would probably be a GE EMD ESC44 with a load of maybe 5-10 intermodal cars with containers, or a SP Morning Daylight. What do you guys want? Quote
marook Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Looks like we get a new Christmas Train! Now, re-run on old set or a new one.. pictures.... where are they... ;-) Quote

Probably also some kind of mini set when one has a look at the number. Would this 40138 christmas train be as similar to 40034 train or could be full scale train like 10173 holiday train?..Judging by the set number, it seems to be small scale train...like 40034... Quote

I think the train interests is too spreadout that it will be very difficult for LEGO to please everyone. The 7897 nose piece could be a good candiate for the TGV Duplex set or MOC. Quote
fred67 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I'm also pretty sure this year's "Christmas Train" will be a mini. Quote
