Only when he is satisfied that everyone among the frailty is back on their feet does he uncork a tonic for himself, then turn to the groaning harvest of their labor. "Watchman Andrew, Private Bert, thank you for your assistance. I believe you will want to haul whichever of these still live away, but first I want to know," he looks hard at their vanquished foes, "where is the Orc girl? Where is she 'long gone' to? You are beaten, doombringer. What do you know of the girl?" He glances back towards the others, especially Parvati and Soliman, to see if they have more specific questions. Quote

"Oh give it up," growls Shortround as he tries to patch his broken stilts back together. "They'll never find her at this point." He turns to the heroes. "The orc Medusa, right? Always hanging around the Rat's Behind? She was told to get the Hel out, but she never did. Anyone who tried to force her to get their skulls cracked. Used to love that bar, but she was taking it down hill. So we decided to wait for her outside one night, make sure she wasn't going to be showing her face again." Parvati's hands burst into flames. "So you killed her?" she hisses. "Worse than that. Sold her to some slavers. She's probably tied up on a ship right now, 'bout to leave for the High Kingdoms if it hasn't already." "We'll deal with these bigots, and make sure they answer for their crimes" says Bert as he finishes tying up Tubbs. "You should go down to the docks and see if you can find Medusa. "You tell us - are you drunk at your station? We're looking for an Orc girl, or the slavers that have taken her, or a ship rushing for the High Kingdoms... seen any of those?" "No!" The merman hiccups again. "I went out last night, that's all. And I've got a bit of a headache now." He turns pale at Matthias' mention of slavers. "We don't allow slavers out of this bay. There are a number of ships headed to the High Kingdoms, but that's not really anyone's business but their own..." he covers a heavy book with one of his hands. 7 hours ago, Lord Duvors said: Throlar examined the office and it's occupant intently, looking for anything of interest. OOC: Zepher, what is the Rusty Dagger's weapon type? OoC: It is a dagger... Throlar glances around the office and finds that it is relatively sparse, save for a few empty bottles that have apparently been there for a while, as the remaining liquor in them has turned to a syrup. 7 hours ago, Comrade Commander said: Darksten cannot help but stare for a few moments at the merman before him. Recognizing the awkwardness it could pose, the assassin looks for a window from which he can try to spot the slavers/orc from while they await a response from the Dock Master. Darkstan sees a great number of ships, but it is impossible to tell from where they are who the ships belong to or where they might be headed. Quote

"You might be right," Matthias nods quietly to Cedric, "but if so, we'll have to check every ship in the harbor. That could take weeks, and it'll certainly be too late." 13 hours ago, Zepher said: He turns pale at Matthias' mention of slavers. "We don't allow slavers out of this bay. There are a number of ships headed to the High Kingdoms, but that's not really anyone's business but their own..." he covers a heavy book with one of his hands. "So give us a list of ships headed to the High Kingdoms, or we'll have the City Watch in here to rifle through all your paperwork for evidence you're a part of the slavers' conspiracy. Who knows what they might find? And then the destruction they'll levae in their wake - some friends of mine in the City Watch, but you can't say they're very ...circumspect or careful in their duties. Come to think of it, neither are we, and we're here already." Doing his best to keep up an intimidating front, the tiny hero decides to press his demands with the inebriated harbormaster. "How about you just hurry up with a list, and we'll amuse ourselves in the meantime by perusing that book you're covering." Oh snap! Did this just turn into a quest about the re-introduction of Orc slavery in the High Kingdoms? Matthias will be pissed! Quote
Duvors Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 "Please." added Throlar, his hand on the hilt of his elven longsword in a subtly threatening way. Quote
