Nothing new in the shire set.

Nothing exciting then. I am very eager to see fantasy and prehistoric creatures from Jurassic World, Harry Potter, DreamZzz and Ninjago.

I don’t think there is any new animals for City’s summer wave?

The only animals I've seen in the shire set is a bird and a horse of which we already have molds for so nothing new unless there is something we can't see.

LOTR comes with a horse at last, after all it was the theme that made it 12 year ago:wink:
Looks like it is the orange one (+ a small blue bird) in the set.

Not unexpected, but would have been a nice place to see the current foal reused, maybe the pig recoloured, and potentially the introduction of a smaller chunkier ‘pony’ … ah well.

It’s very tumbleweed-y and quiet on the animals front

Where do you use animal moulds in your layouts?

Largely in battle scenes where my army of squirrels can face off with my army of penguins

What do the squirrels and penguins have beef about?

They can’t even remember. They’ve been battling since the Ice Age when some prehistoric squirrel caused mayhem chasing a nut.

I see. Do the penguins still refer to it as the 'Ice Age'?

This comment chain makes me want to make a third party Scrat now, thanks

They did us dirty by introducing a mammoth, a sabretooth cat and no Sid or Scrat!

Sadly I don’t speak penguin. Though their main language seems to be ‘rage’

I was bitten by a penguin once, I have nothing to say to them until they apologise.

Perhaps they have already and you just didn’t understand them. What were you doing to encourage this penguin to bite you?

I’ve just remembered I was also bitten by a squirrel once. This may explain their hate-filled vengeance conflict

Well Harrpotter waas never bitten by snakes but he can understand snakean language. He is no use to understand penguin and squirrel languages. Yes we need a 2025 Dr. Dolittle then.

Definitely - if only for all the potential new animal moulds!!

Luckily my 3 favourite animals already exist in Lego form (Red Pandas, Goats and Frogs) My 12 would be

1) - A badger (Typical Eurasian badger but could be recoloured to represent other varieties)

2) a Toad ( technically just a type of Frog but we'd have a fatter and flatter brown one to represent Bufo Bufo the common Toad)

3) a Red Fox ( again recolourable for artic fox and such like)

4) Cerberus ( scaled down to work in CMF bag)

5) a Siren ( like a bird version of the Dreams Sneak figure where you can put a human head on an animal ( in this case bird) body.

6) A deer calf

7) Pygmy Hippo

8) a Sloth ( three toed)

9) a ring tailed Lemur

10) a Komodo dragon

11) a proper pigeon (rockdove)

12) a Dodo bird

Not sure if this is mentioned before, but the coming Easter GWP has a white rabbit and brown squirrel, not bad for a GWP even if they are rather common animals in Lego form.:classic:

So very bored of the white bunny by now … and the squirrel is overdue a new colour too ;)

They did a sand blue bunny in BAM. Do you really want a blue squirrel?!
