Admiral M Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Awesome! Welcome aboard, Admiral! Thanks. I actually "discovered" your comic about 3 months ago, but hadn't commented until just now. Really, your comic has just the right combination of humor and suspense. hehe, screwed with a capital F, I can use that... Quote

Batbrick Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Back after two weeks of holiday! Great updates KDog, awesome to see the Viking Serpent, I loved that set. Also, congratulations on winning that prize, really well done, you certainly deserved it! As for the latest part, this is one of your best comics I've read. So many great jokes here, among my favourites is the name of the satellite; Paparazzi-1, McNewsbreaker assuring the audience that a show they actually care about will follow and of course the obligatory Mega Shark vs Giant Squid homage Looking forward to more parts, though I have a feeling the UFO's fascination with Shwartz goes beyond the jokes and factors into the plot. to the Brickmobile! zero1312 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I'm looking forward for that battle...... Quote

Batbrick Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Oh this is brilliant KDog! Even better than the last one! The DACTA news team are some of the best characters, I love their lampshading of the impossibility in the first panel. And of course us morons - the experts Great to see a heap of characters not seen in ages, I loved Verwaand's answer, is that possibly a reference to those creepy Wizard of Oz monkeys? I got a hoot out of hearing Coldwell's Xenu worship come up again, that never gets old I didn't recognise Cheryl and Bruce for a moment, but then craked up laughing, especially at the news reporter saying "Castles on the moon? WTF?", must have slipped past the censors! I don't remember Sandy Moondust, have we seen her before? Good to see Ice Babe again as well, she hasn't appeared in much at all. And naturally a cruel break from the awesomest thing ever; that's news alright! Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Verwaand's "Hooting Space Monkeys" are the creatures that infiltrated the Blacktron base (off-camera) when he left the doors unlocked, resulting in him being zapped by the lobotomy ray for awhile. I've shied away from referring to the Great Octopus as Xenu since the first time, but you have a long memory. :-) As for WTF, well, at least I didn't spell it out! Sandy Moondust was the girl Galanos meant during the Advent Calendar storyline. While that was out-of-continuity, she will show up again relatively soon. Also, Sandy Moondust was a real Lego character, although she's a very rare and expensive minifig, so I use my own version of her. Ice Babe will get more appearances; the time just hasn't been right. I am gonna break for a different short storyline before coming back to Date Night, much like I did in the middle of Meteor Madness II. I just like to change things up a bit, which I tend to do during a long story, on a cliffhanger. :-D BTW, Batbrick, welcome back. Darn you modern journalism with your dragged out teasing that carries on through the next commercial break! >,</ :shakes fist:RV camping, Scottish castles, seafood, and the bout of the century...Valkyrie and Schwartz are waist deep in the best date ever... Huh, huh... waist deep. Quote

Batbrick Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Haha! This part reminds me of this: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DarkerAndEdgier Good to see Scouse again, though I hope this one ties into the ongoing plot, as it would be good to see another story like that. KDog Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 (edited) I have lots of random notes and ideas floating around about where this comic's storyline is going, so I finally sat down and wrote a basic order for the various stories I want to do. And wow, just based on what I have now, it's gonna be awhile before we get to what I consider the end of the first "book." Believe it or not, there is a plan and it all ties together, which will become clearer as things go on. Here's a small tease for you. Although the titles are preliminary and the story order could change, here are the remaining storyline titles of what I consider the first arc of the overall story. (More is planned for afterwards, but it's not very concise at this point aside from the first few storylines.) Keep in mind that some of these are very short and some of these are more epic tales. Anyway, not sure if you can guess much of the future story based on this, but here's the basic plan for the rest of the current arc: Book 1 (remaining) -The Bad Side of Town -Date Night (second half) -Mr. & Mrs. Schwartz -Covertobots -Jenny -Revenge of the Hooting Space Monkeys -Hoth Camp -Girlfriends Old & New -Bootlegs -Party Hardy -300 (Not THAT "300") -Date Night II -The Search -InnerScouse -Date Night III -Blacktron Forever -What's Been Going On With the Space Police -Abducted! -Revenge of the 918 -The Stalker -M:Tron Marx the Spot -Red Return -Homecoming Book 2 -Down & Out -Stuck in a Bubble -Stuck On Mars Again -The Knights of Awesome ... Have fun theorizing! Edited September 24, 2009 by KDog Quote

Anyway, not sure if you can guess much of the future story based on this, but here's the basic plan for the rest of the current arc: Sounds awesome, I'm glad you've been getting it all planned out. Just to be clear, I'm not trying to go all elitist on you or anything, far from it; I could never do something like this. Its just that my favourite stories tend to be the ones that tie in to the overall arc. I'm really excited that - as extended as it might be - you've got the whole "seasons" thing going. If you ever released a book (even an unofficial one) I'd buy it in a second, no questions. As for the titles, sounds great, seems you're doing the fantastic trend of the final stories all being part of the arc. Most looking forward to Revenge of the Hooting Space Monkey (sounds to be hilarious), Date Night II and III (for my favourite couple), Abducted, Revenge of the 918 and Stalker (all sounds sweet) and The Knights of Awesome! Looking forward to it all! Batbrick Away! Quote

Peppermint_M Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Hey ho. Loving the comic, I just lost my DD account when my Laptop died on me... Are you planning on incorperating the awesome new Blacktron III outfits into the story? I know they aren't even out yet, but still... My grandma has the hugest collection of Smurfs, we used to play all sorts of odd combo games with my uncle. And thus the randomness ends. Quote
zero1312 Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Is that a good thing or a bad thing in the last panel? Quote
Batbrick Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Childhood memories being destroyed! Let's hope you never get around to any DC heroes! The final gag made me chuckle, especially since I didn't get it straight away, and then went "Oh. OH!" Batbrick Away! Quote
