SavaTheAggie Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Gallery This was built for the upcoming March 2008 "Around the World in 80 Days" themed TexLUG display (I originally, but wrongly, called it the "Wonders of the World" themed display). I was originally going to build it "as it was," complete and whole, but my wife convinced me to build it "as it is," and I think I did a pretty decent job, considering I'm working with inventory scraps and leftovers. --Tony Quote
Captain Ka-Boom Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Great job considering spare bits and everything. I think you should make a full one as it was when first made. Put some celts there to! Quote
Asuka Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 It looks nice and pretty accurate to me, beside the sharp inherent squareness of the 'bricks' that is.... *y* X-D Quote
Sir Dillon Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 This looks very good, especially using just 'leftovers'. You've done a good job making the structure looking ruined, but I think your stones are a little too smooth looking. Maybe just exposing the studs here and there might make them look a little more weathered? Quote
RememberTheLittleGuy Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Awesome! You just gave me an inspiration! Keep up the good work. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 It looks great, that you made it with spare parts is even more impressive. Quote
Legocastlegirl Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Cool idea and i like it really much. *y* The only thing i would change is the green flat ground. Maybe you should try to make a field with a lot of different green bricks in different levels. It would make it more realistic. As you can see in a lot of pics of stonehenge the big stones are not at the top of the gras, they are more "integrated", if you know what i mean. But the stones and how you built them are really nice!! Greetings Sandra Quote
