Going to need 2 of these and then as and when search Bricklink for 2 more of the gray rollercoaster curves to make a complete loop. Then set about working how to do a compatable PF powered train to run on them! Probably end up with something a bit like Jangbricks' 4 wide rail set up! Overall very good set from Lego and should hold a high part-out value! Edited November 21, 2017 by JEB314 (James) (Added last bit) Quote

Considering the specialised wheel bases designed to run on this track, I think PF-ing a model would be somewhere between extremely difficult and impossible. The main issue is I don't think they're compatible with standard train wheels. Have a look here for a close-up of the parts: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2017/11/15/powering-rollercoaster-lego-70922-joker-manor-review/ Quote
Carefree_Dude Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I really love that Amtrak train posted above; it's very colorful and looks nice. Quote

I can't see how a modular train station would "work" as a set (however much I'd like one). If we do get a new station next year, I hope it will be something like this: Something we can easily mod into a bigger/more complete station building by combining a couple of them Edited November 21, 2017 by ElectroDiva Quote

Rather than buying 4x copies you should be able to buy the individual track parts from lego after the set has been out for a couple of months 11 hours ago, ColletArrow said: Considering the specialised wheel bases designed to run on this track, I think PF-ing a model would be somewhere between extremely difficult and impossible. For example, a separate tire in front of the train or between two cars could be used for propulsion Quote
Carefree_Dude Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 I'd be really happy if it were the Amtrak train. Yesterday I rode a train for the first time ever, and it just happened to be the Amtrak train shown earlier. It was an overall amazing and comfortable experience. I may throw a MOC together.... Quote

Steamdemon Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I love a good Amtrak. F59PHI's and F40PH are my favourite american passenger designation locomotives. I think the Amtrak would be a good idea. Quote

Although a terminus could work as a modular... 2 Track wide and people would buy 2 to make it 4 wide. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Quote

The building could be something feasible in a very crowded city where things are built up against and around the train tracks. It might have play value. Kids could have a fun time crashing the train into anything in the way at the exit. Quote
brickbuilder711 Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 I don't see why not... lol. Vernazza, Italy is a relatable example but then again the terrain shapes the placement. Quote
McLaren97 Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 There are a few tunnels like this in Sydney which are built under apartment towers. However i think as far as a Lego Creator Expert train set goes the structure will be a train station ( thats if its not like the maersk train and has no buildings at all) Quote
McWaffel Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Tunnels only come out underneath buildings, if the rest of the city is above the level of the trains running... That's not the case with Lego cities. Quote
dr_spock Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 How about a Creator apartment building with monorail coming out of it? Modular train street crossing? Quote
CDM Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Aren't the big toy trade shows coming up in a week or two? We've gotten the first looks at previous year's trains at those shows, right? Quote
00bricker Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Yes, in International Toy Fair. But it will be in January, I think. Quote

I'd buy that in a heartbeat if it meant the return of monorail... Heck, they could make it a central theme underpinning the modular series for the next 10 years and I'd buy every one of them Quote

AlmightyArjen Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 60098 is now almost end of life according to the Lego shop@home. Quote
ElectroDiva Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 @AlmightyArjen - You're right - 60098 is showing as "retiring soon" in the UK Store too. It probably didn't sell very well Surprised that 60051 & 60052 don't have the same status despite coming out a year earlier. I *really* hope TLG don't make us go another year without any new trains... Quote
