With both those sets we either had minifigures or a set description That’s true, and the lack of minifigure leaks makes me afraid that the set won’t have any figures at all. Or they could be repeat figures from the main line but that would be lame in my opinion. I haven’t thought about it much but I’m thinking that the set could be an ‘89 Batmobile with figures of Keaton Batman and Nicholson Joker, but I feel like they would’ve leaked by now.

Patience my friend! I'm sure our friend's at Lego wont disappoint with the D2C vehicle and mini-figure selection. I guess all the signs do point to a 89 Batman set, but you never know!
Whovastron Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Really hope it isn’t an 89 set. I know a ton of people love that batmobile, but I personally don’t like it. But if the set looks good I’m sure it will tempt me, might look good next to the Tumbler now if it was an animated series batmobile on the other hand... i would love something that was minifigure scale though, like the old rumoured GCPD, or heck even another Arkham would be fine by me. The dream is a huge batcave though, hopefully one day

Graupensuppe Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Maybe it's The Bat from TDKR? We've gotten both the Tumbler from Batman Begins and the Batpod from TDK.

That would be a “take my money!” moment for me. The likelihood is its going to be the 89 Batmobile, but a man can dream.

I would much prefer the Bat-Tank from The Dark Knight Reurns. Arguably one of the most iconic Bat-vehicles.

I could run a list of Batmobiles I would rather have, to be honest. I know it’s an iconic and defining shape, but the chances of it being accompanied by Nicholson Joker makes it less desirable for me.

DeCommander96 Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Maybe it will be the bat mobile from justice league with a updated tactical bat fleck. I hope it isn't and it is the '89 one
Duncan Young Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 I'd prefer either an Arkham Knight or B:TAS Batmobile, for the potential minifigures they could include. We've had so many black suit Batmen and Jokers, that I would much rather have something different

I would love that but I’m not sure if it would be big enough to justify a $250 set, and it isn’t as iconic as the other two vehicles. It just doesn’t seem like an 80th anniversary set to me but I certainly won’t complain if that’s what it is. 1 hour ago, scottypavarotti said: I can’t remember, what sort of confirmation was there about it being a vehicle? BaneShake Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 A molded cowl like that render has would be about the only reason I would be okay with an '89 Batman, seeing as the black suit we've seen adapted 1000000x originated from the 1989 movie in the first place. We don't need any more suits that look the same without something significant to make it stand out.

Unfortunately, I just don't see Lego developing a specific cowl piece for Keaton when they have the 2012 cowl on hand

Lionbear8 Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 BAS could be an option. There was that promo poster for 80 years of Batman with him in the BAS suit earlier this year. If history shows us anything its Lego like to give out sneak peaks through posters.

Whovastron Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Imagine if it was like a “bat mobile collection” just includes every iconic version of the batmobile at system scale. so the very first batmobile, probably one from the 80s, dark knight returns, 1989, animated series, 2005, Arkham knight. would never happen, but man imagine it!

When D2C news starts slowly trickling out I keep a note on my phone of the sets I’m interested in, and I thought it was recorded as $250 but I just checked and I have it written as $200.
