Ayrlego Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Jameston is made up of many different cultures, but one thing that binds those from the old world together in this new world is some kind of celebration of the winter solstice - even if there is no winter in the tropics! Traditionally in rural Corrington, the local Lord or Lady would host a celebration in the village providing the inhabitants with free bread and ale. A night of singing, dancing and general socialising would follow. Governor Sir Dirk Allcock continues this tradition in Jameston, hosting a public street party outside one of the settlements many taverns. Well-watered down ale is provided (although many revellers have brought their own rum!) and a jungle bush the approximate shape of a fur tree has been uprooted and decorated as per Merrynight traditions. The astute observer will also notice the attendance of Sir Lachlan Campbell, Under-secretary of Discovery in the Parliament of Science, and Don Isaac Montoya - making his first public appearance since disappearing from the Malto peace talks! Happy Merrynight all! _______ A Merrynight entry and my last of this style for a while. Seemed a good opportunity for a party! Will be licensed as an artisan in Jameston. Quote
Mesabi Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Great Build Ayrlego! very nice celebration scene, and I like the realism of the building. Good to see Montoya for once, as well. Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 This is a great build, the flags and minifigures really give it a festive air! Good choice of color for the shutters and the macaroni tiles give the tudor part of the building a distinctive look! Quote
Professor Thaum Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 (edited) Great scene ! this house is a pretty colonial one, and I'm especially jealous of the vegetation, really well done ! The christmas tree is killer ! Edited December 18, 2018 by Professor Thaum Quote
Fraunces Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Very well done, you keep pumping out HQ MOC's as if it is childsplay Quote
Capt Wolf Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Another excellent build from you, both with the structure/landscape and the posing of figs! Two details I like: the studs on the side of the stone foundation, and the round quarter-circle tiles used in the framing of the walls. The pineapple plants are also well done. Quote
Bart Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Excellent party dynamics you've created. It's a shame the building is a mere background piece because it is very well build. And are those pineapple bushes? Quote
