Garma's Key

After Edward was appointed as infantry captain of some new recruits he decided to take some of his man on a patrol. Because he thinks that you have to know the people that serve you he diceded that he would talk a bit with everyone. In the late afternoon they came back to Port Woodhouse...

Great looking beach scene! I like the irregular baseplate and the little cliff is nice as well. The only thing I would have done is make the troops in a walking position rather then standing, but that is minor criticism.

Wow - your MOCs are really quite amazing. I am very happy you decided to join this game. Please keep your MOCs coming. This beach scene is lovely.

If I may make two small suggestions:
1) This plant on top of the rocks looks very interesting. Some small backstory, maybe even only a name for it, could have added to the depth of the overall scene.
2) Your pictures: While your general photo-setup seems to be really, really good, I feel they do lack a bit of post production. What I would suggest, especially for the first picture: Tune up brightness and contrast, and also remove the large white borders of the image (especially top and bottom). And post at least your "hero image" in larger resolution. Below is an example of how it might end up.

But again: Your Lego scene is just wonderful! :-)

Great landscaping Legonaut, really very good with the different tones of sand and the vegetation. The minifig posing is also great. Elos has some great suggestions regarding brightness and contrast, but other than that it is difficult to find anything to fault here!

First picture isn't showing up from me, but based on Elos' example, this is a really nice beach MOC, I like the combination of curved and sloping light tan plates and the bit of rock with vegetation on top adds some great visual interest!  Great squad of recruits too!

Thank you for the compliments! I tried some walking poses but they didn't look well.

Clever base...  Looks like low tide I agree with the figure posing.  The rock work blends well with the vegetation.

Thank you :)

Well, I'm glad you like it. Now another one if the jury has to give a thumbs up I guess (?).

Thanks man, I ordered 18 Soldiers last September from Lego, but they're away now :( otherwise I would've bought another 75.

Thanks for your comments :)

@Legonaut sorry for missing this originally. I find the beach scene to be well done with the gentle slope of the sand well shown. The debris on the beach where the waves stopped is great too. Great eye for detail. The plant on the top of the rocks looks great as does the rock work and vegetation.

 from me.

PS. Great job incorporating the photo editing advice already!

First of all, welcome aboard!

Nice build. The first pic isn't showing, which is odd, because it did when this was first posted. I'm really liking those minifigs, and the beach, rockwork, and vegetation all look nice. As previously suggested, perhaps you could tinker with the brightness/contrast a bit to improve the presentation. Otherwise, you're off to a great start.
