jamesster Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) While posting this I remembered there's some other concept art floating around that maybe some folks here would like: https://www.artstation.com/ducede Loads of Elves art (apparently another potential name for the theme was Elvendale as you can see on the WIP box art). Misc other things too - some stuff for the LEGO Portal Racers game, and his portfolio has concept art for what look like girl-oriented LEGO Fusion games/sets that never saw the light of day (an underwater mermaid city, and a very purple/gold ninja village... I wonder if that was going to be its own thing, or if it would have been tied into Ninjago in any way?). Edited August 25, 2019 by jamesster Quote
DuckBricks Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Please keep posting more concept art stuff like this - prototypes and in-development LEGO media absolutely fascinates me. Thanks for sharing! Quote
Lyichir Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I'd seen these before but they're still great. I do wish that Lego were more forthcoming with concept materials for their themes, since I'd love to see things like concept art for the characters as well. That said, I do understand some of the reasons they may opt not to, since especially in the case of unused concepts or ones that differ greatly from the final product, publishing those concepts might easily be seen as offering free ideas to competitors (or at the very least, spoiling ideas that Lego might well consider reusing in future themes). MAB Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 It is a shame that the mermaids never saw light of day, they could have had that as an extension of Elves. Although one thing he says in the CV: Some boardgames I helped launch included: LEGO Phineas and Ferb Quote

Stuff like the Making of Lego Movie books were some of my absolute favorite books to ever come from Lego. Even the Chima concept art retrospective on the old website was amazing. I see your point that it doesn't make sense to release everything, but even stuff like this is nice. 18 hours ago, MAB said: It is a shame that the mermaids never saw light of day, they could have had that as an extension of Elves. Although one thing he says in the CV: Some boardgames I helped launch included: LEGO Phineas and Ferb I remember that appearing on Brickset's servers back in 2013 or so, and wondering why it was cancelled - I guess due to declining Lego Games sales.
