Stari89 Posted July 16, 2020 Author Posted July 16, 2020 Thank you all, this really means a lot and boosts my motivation! Correct, right now I am focusing on designing the custom parts. When I build the case I expect to use at least 95% original LEGO bricks in combination with custom ones. Quote
SamuelYsc Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Keep going! I have also followed you on Instagram, this is really interesting! Quote
Stari89 Posted July 20, 2020 Author Posted July 20, 2020 Rear I/O is complete, I will produce a video in the next few days! Quote
Stari89 Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Done with the rear I/O video. It's slowly coming together! :) Quote
Stari89 Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 I found some time for my hobbies, so I have begun building the case in the virtual environment where I have an unlimited supply of bricks. I started with the bottom which needs to be perforated for better airflow to the power supply. Enjoy. Quote
Kronos987 Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Wow! Super cool and very ambitious! I can’t wait to see the finished product Quote
Stari89 Posted March 8, 2021 Author Posted March 8, 2021 I had to order the bricks for the case in 8 different BrickLink stores. Grand grand total: 536€. I keep telling myself that LEGO is an investment. :) Quote
Mechbuilds Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Definitely a major OOF on that total. Damn! Quote
Gray Gear Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) I think the final desingn looks pretty nice actually, simplistic and clean. But if you do think it is too boring later you could make some exchangable lower side panels with some pixel art on it...Just an idea Edited March 15, 2021 by Gray Gear Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 I know what my next PC "build" will be. Thank you for the inspiration. Quote
Stari89 Posted April 6, 2021 Author Posted April 6, 2021 After almost a year of planning, today I finally started the build! I found out that building in LDD and in real life is not the same. There are few things I already want to change (for structurual rigidity). I will continue with what I have for now and modify later. This is the front mesh. Cheers! Quote
DrJB Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 (edited) Neat project ... but to me, it seems you're investing a LOT of money into an old computer. Some of the pictures suggest a very old motherboard, with Serial, LPT, and PS2 (mouse/keyboard) ports, and PCI bus, and I have not seen those in a very long time. One pic however shows USB 3.0 ports ... and that somehow doesn't seem to match the rest of the hardware. Edited April 11, 2021 by DrJB Quote
Stari89 Posted April 11, 2021 Author Posted April 11, 2021 That's just my friend's broken old computer he doesn't use anymore. I used that as a reference when designing 3D printed components. I can't break something which is already broken! :) Quote
Gray Gear Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Looking good! How many of those ladder pieces did you order? Quote
Stari89 Posted April 12, 2021 Author Posted April 12, 2021 (edited) 1360. I expect this purchase raised the price of that brick! :p Edited April 12, 2021 by Stari89 Quote
