hvader Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Wow Mantis looks almost identical to the previous version

The possibility of Chadwick's faceprint is revive and even more plausible. Please TLG, hear us we need it. Also a chance to honor our King. Still not a fan of her face. Ugh. True. You’d think they’d update that

But the face for her really doesn't give me Mantis vibe, should be cute. I think I'm using a child (hermonie) face on my Mantis, she should be cutie.
Portal Out Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I might even go as far to say that the new Mantis fig is straight up bad. It’s got that same inaccurate face print from four years ago and I was really hoping for duel molded arms. I feel like this was our one chance to get an accurate Mantis too. Oh well I guess. The figs in this line that we’ve seen have been mostly excellent, and there’s a chance she could end up in the Thor 4 sets that’ll probably come out with the new movie. Plus who knows, maybe she has a fabric skirt piece that wasn’t included in the leak like Marvin the Martian. And maybe I fell for a fake leak again and none of these criticisms matter.
SpiderJazz Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 This one is real, came from old time leaker FCL. Who gets a direct leaks from factory.
lego_guyon02 Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 So the cat's finally out of the bag now Mantis leak looks good.
Master of Fear Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I already have a few sets I want, as I'm very particular on what I spend money on. So to hear the CMF is Disney + related makes me really happy & I'm excited to see what it will bring!
thephantasm Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Its kinda sad that there's still no leg printing for mantis in a $150 set

Completely agree with you here. This Mantis is horrible to look at! Looks almost identical to 2017 one, no leg prints or updated accurate face. I mean she has no pupils in eyes, why does Lego give here face with pupils I don't get?! Maybe at least she will have cloth piece since her outfit has tailcoat like design? Ugh, typical Lego. We get new chitauri head when no one asked for it, yet reuse old inaccurate Mantis face.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Oh wow, who would have thought we'd get so much news while I'm asleep! Oh wow, so the CMF is for all those Disney+ series! I wonder if they'll go for even distribution for each, because I'd love Falcon, Bucky and Zemo, but Wlaker would also be awesome. I am so excited for how detailed each of them will be, especially Wanda. The Disney+ sounds interesting and disappointing at the same time. With all of those series getting representation in CMF, this one is definitely the most obvious candidate for a set, and the minifigures will definitely be great, but another Iorn Man mech? I hope it'll look unique enough. Mantis kinda sucks. I wasn't a fan of the previous one, I don't like this one. The only problem I really have with it (except for more printing but that doesn't seem THAT necessary) is the face, and it looks like everything except Mantis. Hate it.
Darth Shadowthrone Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Wow I think the cmf bring Disney+ means it should have the minifigure line-up I’m most interested in, far more than comic versions and even a little bit more exciting than random film characters (tho I would love some more figs from the Thor trilogy) Does anyone else feel like this choice excludes the chance for old-timey minifigures - if we get one Wanda figure it should be her in the suit so I can’t imagine a second black-and-white Wanda figure being included, so hopefully all the other figures are in colour too. So I’m imagining IF there’s 12 figures we get roughly 3 characters from each series but I swear a leaked on here suggested there could be more than 12 for this one?
benderisgreat Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 (edited) D+ Cmf is interesting choice. I don't understand why they would do D+ Cmf before correcting many mistakes with past Mcu minifigures! Still it's better than comic based Cmf to me. So if I were to guess which figureswe would get: Wanda vision: Scrlet Witch, Vision, Agatha Falcon and Winter soldier: Sam in Captain America suit( curious what they will do for his wings), Bucky, Baron Zemo What if?: Probably character from already revealed episodes, like T'challa Star-Lord and Zombie Cap Loki: Loki and someone else? Just figured out if we are getting Peggy and Steve in What if set, 3rd figure could be generic WW2 era Hydra soldier. This means that 4+ Captain America set could be First Avenger based and reuse that Hydra soldier figure. Edited April 4, 2021 by benderisgreat
SEmrys Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Jeez, I've missed a lot. Y'know, after the whole 'a series of missed opportunities' and 'one series will inform the other' hints, I did start to suspect that the CMF would be Disney+, and when FatWS was knocked out of contention, that the set would be based on Captain Britain and Iron Steve (because as someone's already set, that's like LEGOs ideal set material ). Glad that's now been confirmed. And I'm excited to pick up Falcon, Bucky, Wanda and Vision. I must admit though, I do think it's a shame that Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel aren't included. Personally, I'd prefer Kate Bishop, Ronin and an updated Kamala over alternate universe versions of characters we already have (or even as well as tbh - I'd be down for Uatu and Howard figs like someone else wishlisted). Though maybe that's just me. But oh well, I'm sure they'll show up eventually.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Oh, and also Fulcrum says that the CMF has an August release. Wonder which one is true after all, Aygust or September?
spiderfan2000 Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I wonder if Marvel Disney+ CMF series could become yearly with how many different series are going to be released. If a Marvel Disney+ Series 2 were released next year, it could encompass Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.

We get only 3 CMF series a year, 2 of them being licensed. If they were to release a Marvel CMF every year, it would enable them to only do 1 licensed CMF per year, like HP, DC, Disney or whatever. Unless they decide to increase the number, which doesn't seem likely. I think that after testing the grounds for Disney+ series with 1 set and CMF we'll eventually start getting more and more Disney+ sets.

Personally, I'd have no problem with getting 4 CMF series a year, especially if we're only getting 12 minifigures per series now. I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly how LEGO intends to go about taking advantage of their new ability to use the Marvel license for CMF waves. It will definitely be interesting to see how LEGO handles representing the Disney+ shows next year. I have no clue how many of the upcoming series will have scenes/vehicles that would translate into interesting sets, and also no clue what reference materials LEGO would be provided for the shows. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special could be represented in the next advent calendar, perhaps. Either way, we should already be getting a lot of MCU based sets next year. In terms of movies alone, we're scheduled to get Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther II, and Captain Marvel 2 (2022). If the Infinity Saga line continues into next year, which seems very plausible, that would mean even more sets. Next year should be a big year for the theme, but considering it will be the 10th anniversary of both the Avengers movie and the LEGO Marvel Superheroes line, it seems fitting.
upliftingbricks Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Could the Black Panther helmet mould confusion be because its a new mould for a Black Panther Star Lord CMF figure?

There's too many shows to cover in a potential series 2 in 2 years time. A She Hulk set would be ideal to get Abomination. Secret Invasion could give a Skrull army builder set. And maybe Armour Wars could give us some funky mechs

While I love this to happen I don't think we do have a list of confirmed characters included in the CMF. Starlord - T'Challa is just an assumption for now.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 You know what the funny thing about Bucky's torso is? It doesn't matter if it's real or not - because of it we got CMF and Disney+ set info.

Since Cmf figures are usually highly detailed compared to regular sets, I'd guess Bucky will look better that that leak or fake leak. Maybe even print on non robotic arm?
