When they have every WW movie on HBO Max, they will actively start developing the series.

Same goes for the Amazon LOTR series, I'm sure it would be in development for HBOmax instead if WB had some foresight

I mean DC, Harry Potter and so on... they could easily be on top right now, and nearly as big as Disney. For a long time they won't even come close tho, if ever.

Agreed, especially since she's the only character from the pack that hasn't reappeared anywhere else thus far (if you count the Boggart as a Snape variant of course)

If they are based on the previous movies, I hope one of the sets is a Forbidden Forest with Fang and a Unicorn. It does feel as if we are getting lots of new moulds this year (Hermione's cat head, the Basilisk's head and tail, Fluffy's head) compared to previous years when they were quite stringent. We have gotten a decent number of new mould every year, last year we got on top of my head: flying owl wand box centaur fawkes butterbeer 33 minutes ago, BenderBrau said: perhaps thestral carriages (it can't be possible that thestrals stay exclusive to that one CoG set, can it?). Hard to predict with animal moulds Lego will of course give us a lot of DH sets, it is only a matter of time The "2 films a year" thing started to shake last year and this year went out of the rails completely. Why is that? Because HP are doing so well that they need to keep the theme going and come up with new stuff. A lot of fans want DH sets, so maybe Lego decided to give us something else that we did not know that we wanted and save the DH for later. However I still believe we will get DH sets this year, even if most of the sets are, books, art and anniversary sets The HP team are doing an amazing job, so I am sure we and the theme are in the best of hands
1234567892022 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I desperately wish they'd make a Harry Potter series based on the books, preferably animated but live action could work. Imagine seeing S.P.E.W. and St. Mungo's. The masterpiece that is GoF could finally have a worthy adaption. Part of me is worried they'd ruin it somehow, though. 1 minute ago, Roebuck said: We have gotten a decent number of new mould every year, last year we got on top of my head: flying owl wand box centaur fawkes butterbeer I mean non-CMF moulds, though. The only things I can think of from last year are the wand case, the centaur legs and flying Hedwig. This year we already know of 5 - McGonagall's hat, Fluffy's head, the Basilisk's head and tail; and Hermione's cat head.

Roonil Wazlib Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Glad everyone seems to be happy with the new lineup. Personally, I'm a bit disappointed. If the anniversary modular line is temporary, having the Bathroom, Fluffy, and the Chamber of Secrets for the anniversary line makes it pretty unlikely that they'll do these when they return to the 2018 modular line. If it's not temporary, well then... the 2018 line is dead. Either way, I'm sad. As for Hogsmeade, I'm not sure if they'll ever make the Hog's Head or other Hogsmeade buildings now that they won't have Honeydukes or the Three Broomsticks to package it with. I'm a bit concerned about the price point of the upcoming set since I was hoping for something more like DA scale, but maybe it'll look good. Lastly, the Advent calendar doesn't seem to be very "Christmassy" from what we have to go on. Hopefully I'll change my mind after seeing what they look like, but I'm pretty bummed.

Connecting the new castle sections to the old ones is possible but it will require a fair bit/lot of modding.

Falconfan1414 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Wow this blew up. Everyone automatically assumed the august wave was going to be a full deathly hallows wave including a gringots d2c. No one ever confirmed it was going to be that. I really think people should hamper the expectations

Why do people jump to conclusions like thsi with literally ZERO evidence. Getting next to nothing for DH1 makes total sense to me. I at least assumed this would be the case after we learned that the Room of Requirement and the FF Encounter were the only OOTP sets in a year that was meant to be focused on OOTP/HBP. I got my hopes up for more once we speculated that the full wave would be DH themed but now that that is less likely it's safe to go back to assuming we won't get much. I have no insider knowledge but I really wouldn't recommend expecting more than one or two small sets. We'll likely either get the main tent or the burrow tent (wouldn't be surprised if LEGO wanted to create another party set to aim at girls). I'll also say I think the D2C being a motorized Hogwarts express would be a terrible idea. We will be seeing a playscale remake of the train in a few years regardless of a D2C train since LEGO will want to have something more accessible to kids. I wouldn't mind if it was a motorized Hogwarts express though since this year is already shaping up to very expensive and a $250 train remake would be very easy to skip.

I've been on the DH train from the very beginning, but of course there's no guarantee, neither for multiple DH sets nor a Gringotts D2C. My earlier reactions show what happens when you set yourself up for disappointment, my apologies. I will look at what the rest of the year brings with more of an open mind

I really think people should hamper the expectations I don't think people assumed it was necessarily going to be fully Deathly Hallows - many people were already talking about a Durmstrang Ship etc, so people definitely get that there will be a mix. But when you cryptically say that people shouldn't expect much of DH ("don't hold your breath for Deathly Hallows), it makes us go the other direction and think there will be barely any DH or even none at all, which (in my opinion and many others' opinions) would be disappointing.

I really think people should hamper the expectations Does this mean you can confirm that Grinngotts isn't the $250 set? If it isn't is it the $120? I really hope it is the $120 with the battle of Hogwarts being $250 but realistically I don't see that happening. For me I don't really care to much about the August wave being all DH themed I just really want a good battle of Hogwarts for either $250 or $120 and maybe a set or 2 to add on to it like a forbidden forest one or something for me the only DH1 set I really want is a grave for dobby (which will never happen as anything but a GWP even then I doubt it will) and anything else is a nice bonus if the $250 set ends up being a battle of Hogwarts and then either the $30 or $40 being the forbidden forest scene from DH2 and maybe the boathouse being whichever one the forest isn't. So I would be fine with this: $250 battle of Hogwarts $120 Durmstrang ship or really anything (maybe Grimauld place) $40 boat house $30 Forbidden forest from DH2 and then whatever is left can be anything I just want those 3 from DH2 really. I really don't want the $250 set to be any kind of set like a train UCS, or a Broom UCS, or Knight bus UCS or anything like that. But if it is at least my wallet is happy.
