What if the $250 set really is a ginormous Hedwig like someone said a few months ago. I would scream. :pir-bawling:

Scream in a good way or bad way? I think regardless it would be an incredibly dumb idea, as it would be competing with the already well-done $40 Hedwig.

Give us more DISPLAY pieces, LEGO. I would throw big bucks at you if you made things like a $250 D2C Gringotts.

More Philosopher's Stone challenges, Troll in the Dungeon, more Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley and the Shrieking Shack could be on the cards if they're sticking to the first three films.

Agree, I would love these.  If not DH, then PS/CoS is my second choice to get as the first two films are the most charming/whimsical and I have fond memories of the original 2001/2 sets. And a sprinkling of POA for good measure, of course.

I don’t mind more PS/CoS stuff (even though they’re overrepresented as is), but couldn’t they wait until after a proper DH wave? Are the designers just playing favourites here?

No matter what comes, I'm incredibly happy with the four confirmed sets. I really wanted a remake of the Chamber of Secrets and the Forbidden Corridor, Hogsmeade was my most wanted non-DA set; and I was desperate for cat Hermione, Crabbe and Goyle (and was worried that ship had sailed after last year's CMF series omission). And given that we have 5 more sets with significant price tags, I'm sure there will at least be a few more sets I'll love (at the least). So abandoning panic mode. :monkey:

I'd just like to remind everyone to refrain from pestering the heck out of our verified members who kindly share the amount of information that they can at any given time.

Personally I'm now very curious to wait and see what the later wave entails, and whether or not I'll agree with the assessment of "lowering expectations". After all, it's worth noting that what Guyon and Falconfan think is disappointing is still their personal opinion, and personal opinions differ even if general opinion en masse might often align.

For example, Falcon though the Marvel wave with the Helicarrier was pretty neat and was saying so long before, whereas once I saw it I was pretty underwhelmed.

Let’s start setting the bar as low as possible so we can be at least a little excited when they announce it. I’ll start...

76391 $249.99 - Some sort of LEGO Art piece

76392 $59.99 - Displayable LEGO wand

76393 $119.99 - Some Hogwarts expansion that satisfies little (Don’t even know what this could be if not Battle of Hogwarts)

76394 $39.99 - Godric’s Hollow

76395 $29.99 - Tent in the Forest from DH

I'd love these 3 (the last two were on my wishlist for 2021 anyway). :iamded_lol:

Yea I know many here would love those actually. It doesn’t really matter what those are for me personally because I’m not into the <$40 sets. I have little room for LEGO anyway and as an AFOL I prefer the beautiful large D2C’s. :sweet:

Same. Thinking on this, just lowering expectations is pretty reasonable. Last year had maybe the best LEGO wave I have ever seen, and HP would have to take an absolute nosedive to get even close to Star Wars, which had some good sets recently, but was mediocre. It would have to get to only build able figures and statues for me to lose interest in this theme.

My point is pretty much that I am going to stay optimistic.

It's weirdly tough to imagine things that are both disappointing and haven't been done in the reboot yet, especially at 120$ price point. It's probably not the sets themselves then, but again selection and/or execution of minifigures, aka lots of reused faces and lack of leg/skirt prints.

Excuse me? That's one of the biggest priorities from DH1. Unless Bathilda reuses Helga Hufflepuff's face :laugh_hard:

depending which scene, but if we're going for disappointment - it's just the trio against Scabior and Fenrir.

I’m still pretty bummed Hogsmeade isn’t a $150+ set, personally.

I think it would look great. They should leave the big sets for more important builds

Had a quick talk with my sources and they asked me to give you a piece of advice regarding the August wave: significantly lower your expectations.

I'm thinking this is more to do with people thinking that the unknown sets would be based solely on the Deathly Hallows. We might get some references to it in a Hogwarts expansion or Gringotts (if we get that this year) but lego had a few sets featuring the first two movies again last year so maybe we are getting earlier movie sets again in the late summer wave and some small DH sets. I don't really mine what years the sets are from so I'lll only be disappointed if the quality of build is bad. The less detailed Hogwarts chamber set has me a little worried about that build but I'll be happy with a new snake. I'll patiently wait till i see a really blurry leak and squint at all the details I can't make out to form an opinion on this years waves.

Also if the large set turns out not to be Gringotts what could it be instead?

I agree. Diagon Alley was such a pleasure to build; I was looking forward to building Hogsmeade in that scale. There's still a chance that it will look good, though. @Scarlet_Patronus made some really nice looking Hogsmeade MOCs at a smaller scale.

After reading that the new sets will be less detailed and also Guyon's warning about lowering expectations, I can't help but think the theme is taking the same route as 2021 Star Wars (smaller scale, lower prices, with a dip in quality).

Am I here the only one who would want a big Hogwarts Express set?

The 2018 version is one of the few sets I have missed out on because I absolutely dislike how short it is. It would have been a much better set if they made the station smaller and used those parts for the train itself. Until they release a new one I think my 2010 version will do.

I wouldn't mind a big Hogwarts Express if it came with Hogsmeade Station or maybe even a viaduct to display with it. I feel like it would need something else to make it worthwhile, otherwise you could just bricklink the extra passenger cars.

@chris6507 .. not that my Diagon Alley is built yet, but I’ve been gathering a few Witches and Wizards too .. got an extra Jafar from Aladdin to add to mine, also thought of Maleficent  👍🏼

Honestly a viaduct would be absolutely perfect. Definitely agree there would have to be something else there as well.

The June wave sounds spectacular to me so in my eyes everything else in August will be a nice bonus, no matter how good or bad the sets end up being.

I'm wondering if we're just going to get a bunch of remakes with minimal DH content in August.  That could easily be viewed as underwheming  Being only half-serious with my speculating, maybe we'll end up with something like:

$29.99 The Forest Tent (with no doe)

$39.99 Quidditch Match...again (maybe based off POA so LEGO has an excuse to include Quidditch Cedric)

$59.99 Hagrid's Hut...again (First two movies design)

$119.99 Undersized Gringotts with underwheming dragon (reusing the same Thunderbird/Occamy/Horntail head)

$249.99 Motorized Hogwarts Express

I feel like that would be a lineup that would disappoint people on here.

My god, what if the other undisclosed sets are from The Crimes of Grindelwald?
wow, I would be very disappointed

Estou me perguntando se vamos ter um monte de remakes com conteúdo DH mínimo em agosto. Isso poderia ser facilmente visto como um obstáculo. Sendo apenas meio sério com minhas especulações, talvez possamos terminar com algo como:

$ 29,99 The Forest Tent (sem corça)

I would not be so disappointed with the first one, badly or well it is well expected to have the tent, and the corsa is not mandatory, not that I did not want to, haha.
But the rest ... God forbid haha

If they were going to be related to the FB-series, it'd make much more sense if they were related to the third film which was supposed to release November 2021 at one point, so LEGO would've already been working on them. Then again, they would've been moved to next year by now.

I actually would be somewhat keen for more FB-series sets because the character and world designs are cool even if the movies totally suck.

Na verdade, eu gostaria de mais conjuntos da série FB porque os personagens e os designs do mundo são legais, mesmo que os filmes sejam uma merda.

I don't even think FB is bad, but I don't want to have legos of it, I just bought the carriage because of Testralio (sorry I don't know their name in English, in Brazil it has another name haha) and Newt by Niffler. Buuuut, I really wanted Nicolas Flamel, because of the reference to the philosopher's stone, I never expected that I would really see him.

In English they're called Thestrals, and I think that's why most AFOLs would've bought that set!

I really didn't mean to unleash an FB opinions discussion. Being a MOD, I should know better - my apologies. In any case, the sets provide some cool stuff whether or not you like the films, but obviously HP stuff is more desirable to more people.
