As these are out there now I guess I can finally share my opinions on these sets:

Bathroom - decent figures, horrible build.
Fluffy - awfull figures (might change though), Fluffy is great but the heads are a bit too small, Hogwarts build is a neat partspack.
Hogsmeade - fantastic set all around.
Hogwarts - great figures, fantastic Basilisk, Hogwarts build is a very nice partspack.

Do you think they'll be much improvement? They just don't look that great :pir-grin:

Figures? Yes. Build? Doubt it.

Please tell that Basilisk stays the same

Besides printing it'll most likely stay the same.

But builds are final right?

I don't think they'll change much.

That was a prototype that was put on display on accident

So are these sets prototypes or something else? Was the Great Hall a more advance prototype than these?

For me Hogsmeade is about the only passable one. I know these are just prelims, but for me these just do not look good. I'm no longer surprised that @Guyon2002 said 'You'd be surprised [at how bad it can get]'. The horrible thing is, I don't think he was even meaning this wave but the next one. I dread to think now what is coming in August because I'm afraid these do not feel like the same quality of builds that we have been getting.

I was referring to the August wave. I think this wave is pretty decent as far as anniversary stuff goes. Builds aren't anything to write home about (besides that amazing Hogsmeade set) but overall the figures are really good!

Preliminary = "preceding or done in preparation for something fuller or more important"

So yes, these are prototypes.

Builds stay mostly the same. Only some colours might change, because the prelims usually don't include new recolours, prints or exclusive new moulds (the white/grey ones are prototype parts). The white part on fluffys back is either a new piece which allows the attachement of all three heads via mixel joint or is a recolour of an old part

In the words of J Jonah Jameson: "brace yourselves, you might want to sit down."

If you hate the June wave you're most likely going to despise the August wave.

Also even 2018 Great Staircase Tower looked more accurate than this anniversary one which look completely random

I don't think this is supposed to be the great stair case tower. Sinistra (that already) leaked is on top. I think it is more like a generic tower with a class room or another dormitory in it like the 2001 tower. The bathroom set can be placed under the tower section and over the the right chamber section.

We don't usually get to see early prototypes, mostly next-to-finished ones (which are the ones in the catalogues). The GH on display at NYTF 2018 was an earlier prototype that somehow made it to the show floor. If I recall correctly, they said the Dueling Club section was an idea that got scratched fairly early-on, which is why the designers were surprised to see that version on display

Oh I do apologise for my low IQ.

I am thinking of either skipping these Hogwarts sets and buying just new minifigs and Basilisk from BL or buying them and using most of it as parts for my Hogwarts layout. Hogsmeade is different story, it looks like its made by different Lego designer and it will be first set I am gonna buy from these.

Well if you look at it from your wallets point of view then that's a good thing

So we're getting 4+ looking style sets, just like these. Great. Let's hope there's one or two Hogsmeade-quality sets in there then.

More of the same then :shrug_oh_well: What's the point of splitting them into two waves I wonder? Waves consisting of 8 sets are not unheard of

Will the figs not be worthwhile in august?!

Cat Hermione is adorable and the Basilisk's head is instantly recognisable. And Hogsemeade looks incredible for the price and just what I was expecting quality-wise for 2021 Lego HP.

Promobricks were wrong by the way with one of their points. The pin holes on the june wave are in fact compatible with the 2018 to 2020 Hogwarts "modular" system. Look at the right side of the bathroom set. The technic pins are on the same height as previous models.

I think the sets are good over all. Sure they could be better, but since I parted out the previous ones as well, because they were already too small scale-wise for me, I think the new ones work great as part packs

Yeah we still dont know how the new minifigs will look like. So those might save this wave.

Hogsmeade is a better Winter Village set than most of the actual Winter Village sets we've been getting lately.

The shapes and proportions of the Great Hall looks much better than the 2018 version to me. Unfortunately the tower doesn't look like the Grand Staircase Tower at all.
