He posted in his stories a screen from his 2023 April Fool's post with a tick near the first four statements.

Yep the first 4 have all been confirmed. All 6 had either direct confirmation or putting some stuff together to help me decide what to feature.

Indy coming back and endor as the mbs were based on some puzzle pieces i tried to put together but endor ended up being the death star. Indy is a more complicated explanation. Either way those 2 are, for now, incorrect.

5. Endor is the next Master Builder Series set - True!

It's a heck of a stretch to claim that that's the AT-ST or Death Star, but since 4 of the other 5 were correct I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and believe it was just a mixup with the AT-ST being a ROTJ D2C.

And therein lied the issue, since it didn't feel like a good story or particularly in-line with the first three. This sort of "modernized" legacy film would have benefitted more from gaining new, child fans than banking on old support, but they did almost nothing to get kids to go watch it.

Are you able to elaborate at all, or no?

Not at this time.

At least the At St and Death Star 2 have connections to endor so wasn't too far off. The price really helped connect the dots with that one.

OK - Thanks for clarifying! 👍

I am going to guess that changes to Lucasfilm’s plans or Disney leadership (ToD merch was made, and then pulled, as CEOs changed) are responsible for Indy not returning, but also because of TGC (and possible future projects) the theme is not 100% dead.

I understand.

Yeah, to clarify, I do believe you on that just being a mixup- I certainly wouldn't call either of those Endor MBS sets but I could see a lot of ways you could have gotten info that could imply an Endor MBS.

I could see them holding on to the license and/or preparing some Icons sets behind the scenes but I doubt lego was looking at the great circle as a potential restarting point for the license. If a movie, however bad, couldn't do it, I don't think they'd pin their hopes on a video game.

I’m imaging a scenario where in the same day you heard “a popular Gen-X franchise comes to LEGO Icons” (Star Trek), “a playset representing ancient ruins is being developed” (JW set with Spino), “a beloved fedora-wearing adventurer returns soon” (Johnny Thunder in LEGO City), and “a movie starring Harrison Ford will be one of the few films to get a LEGO set next year” (Red Hulk vs Cap), and came to the only logical conclusion. Probably not, but it’s funny to think about.

You know what, let's say that's what happened.

I got a good laugh out of that, thank you :snicker:

As much as I like Indy, I doubt the theme will ever come back again, even in the style of the current LotR Icons sets. While I‘m still mad about the ToD cancellation and the lack of follow-up sets, I‘m grateful Indy was brought back at all and with three amazing sets at that.

That‘s more than can be said about the only other theme I‘m still waiting for them to bring back! Hint: my avatar and username  Kinda amazing it’s the only major licensed theme from the late 2000s/early 2010s they haven‘t revisited yet. Indy, LotR, PotC, Toy Story, and HP all came back, after all!

I think Nick gave the construction license to an actual former bootleg company that had to rebrand to avoid legal issues when they got the rights. Same thing happened with Angry Birds

Funny SpongeBob hasn't been revisited, the amount of Youtube channels back in the day that entirely lived off that theme was mad

Fateful_04 just posted an Instagram Story saying “Indiana Jones Returns” I am ASSUMING that’s an April Fools Day joke but I REALLY REALLY hope it’s true! A Club Obi Wan playset/circus train is what I REALLY REALLY want!

My advice @Legofan2001: Believe nothing for the next 48 hours until it is no longer April 1 at any point on the globe.

He just posted an image with 77014 typed into a calculator. I really think it’s prank but it to be true so badly.

and Fateful_04 just posted super high-res images of the figures from 77014 and even an additional image of Mola Ram compared to 2009 Mola Ram…………

Indy,Willie,Mola Ram look incredible.

Welcome back!

I assume it is a joke, but I do have to respect it if he either faked the figure pics for it (they look pretty real) or was just sitting on them for an unknown amount of time to eventually do an april fool's joke.

I think it was confirmed that some leakers had high-res pictures of the minifigs and the boxart, but couldn‘t share them. Looks like the embargo was lifted? Kinda cruel to now use them as part of an April Fool‘s prank.

No, wait, this makes sense. It's two years to the day after the intended release date, I could easily see there being a provision that stuff like that can't be shown for two years.

On one hand, this seems way too good to be true.  On the other hand, that'd be such a mean April Fool's prank to be fake, given how requested Indy is to return.

Someone on Reddit pointed out that the Indiana Jones page is still up on shop.lego.com, which is interesting given that there's 0 sets on it, but Avatar also has not been removed and has zero sets, and to my knowledge, there's nothing rumored to be coming there?

I guess we'll know tomorrow.  I do think an 18+ set at some point is likely, since they're basically doing every possible license ever at the 18+ level now, and they've gone back and revisited licenses even if there isn't relevant media tying into it (LOTR and POTC both seemingly have movies coming, but it seems like the sets are coming out first?  We also had BTTF come with the 18+ DeLorean and there's been nothing from that franchise in like thirty five years).

GUYS! LEGO Indiana Jones is actually coming back in 2027! It'll be part of a long line of revived themes they're doing that year along with Bionicle, Vidyo, Galidor, Dimensions and Angry Birds

You´re two days to late with this.

No, that was fake but this time it's definitely real like Bionicle G3 and the Tower of Fate set

Why are you trying to summon Turtle? Is the Aslume spreading?
