City pricing went way overboard on USD this year, meanwhile 1 Euro is getting very close to 1 US Dollar now, currently $1.04, no way to explain €20 sets stuntz selling for $35.

If anything the Stuntz sets should be $15 in the USA. The 20%+ VAT tax should be taken out of the USA price.

But that's why there is eBay. I just bought 60351 for $90USD instead of $150.

Pricing is why I'm reasoning as to whether or not I should get the farm or not. I'll admit, it's a great set for a 4+ set. A decent sized tractor, barn and sty. Just the right size for my town layout, which doesn't have any really tall buildings - the tallest ones being the hospital and the town hall (since that's where the prime minister of my town lives).

You be better off Bricklink or eBay it because the insanity of the price differences between countries. I agree, i looks great for a 4+ set. I just don't like the tractor. Not like the last one was the best thing ever.

I personally would probably switch the tractor with the one from 2021. That one was better.

EDIT: Better yet, I'd get this baby right here. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

As with most older vehicles for City, older tractors were better too. Speaking of which, how come almost every truck has to have monster truck tires now? I miss the old trucks that had regular tires.

I always wonder how that's possible, buying new sets or new pieces through Bricklink, eBay or even B&P at a good price I mean, because it never worked for me.

Example: one lion costs minimum 15€, a lion cub from the European magazine foil pack 5€ (all without the shipping) .60307 Wildlife camp (100€) has 2 lions, 2 cubs + elephant, monkeys, eagle (don't know the prices) so they make already at least 50% of the official price. I think it's better to wait for some time for a discount at the local retailer and you get the rest from the set for just ca. 20€. And that's not too bad, I think.

You can wait for next year's City rumors to decide, but with the current inflation I can't imagine that we'll be getting another single farm set at a fairer price. Still the barn is a better choice than the grocery store (which I like very much) or the farmer's van (absolute disappointment) in my opinion.

I am the exact opposite of you on the last part. This is the first time that City has done a grocery store and darn flipping, they did it right. Sure there is no roof, but who gives. I can add a roof. That farmers van too is a great addition. Heck, that one will act as a salad van in my town. Placing it on Food Truck Avenue in my town.

I actually love that Supermarket and Food Truck as well, the "Fresh" might be similar to Hello Fresh, but I think it's right with the times, local fresh foods.

Also with the Clarkson's Farm series on Amazon, which had a lot of positive reception, it's quite easy to imagine a non-commericial farm setting.

(commercial farms can have thousands of cows, or even tens of thousands)

I have no problem with open backs or roofs that much as most my collection buildings are 3-in-1 or City, not Modular Expert sized stuff.

LEGO has been adding more 8x16 and 16x16 plates in sets, not just road plates, so adding a roof isn't that hard.

It's funny you mention this, as I was thinking to myself just the other day, looking at LEGO sets on the shelves. Sets I avoided just a year or two ago because they seemed too expensive, now appear to be a good value, when compared to upcoming sets, especially.

The grocery store is indeed great and the lack of the roof is no problem at all. The width of a building is far more important in my eyes. It's a shame Lego has stopped making houses or shops since the mid 90's or even earlier. However if I had to decide between the two similar priced sets I would take the barn just because of the animals.

How true.

Yeah! My only disappointment is that they didn't use City Food Market logo. But that's not even saddening. I guess it'll be called FRESH in my town instead.

I only buy the full set. I just bought the $150 Spaceport set for $90 on eBay. The Moon Space Station for $40, The Friends School for $35. Mostly just because of sales in other regions and / or beat up boxes. If I want animals I buy the knock offs. Two cows for $3.50? Several big cats for $5? Yes please. I'm not a cult loyalist.

Sadly the Safari sets have not been cheap on eBay but I'll keep looking.

I’m not sure if someone already said that but I think new sets will be released in June in North Ameirca?

The lame ones will be. The interesting ones such as the train station and grocery store will be released in August, which I'm upset about and refuse to be comforted over.

EDIT: I think farm sets will be released in June in North America but not Grocery Store.

That’s a real shame! It’s a good news for me - I love collecting animal figures - and I think you do too.

But yeah, grocery store is the AWESOME one! I don’t mean to confront you but I think it’s best to save money for worthy sets.

You better believe it. That's what I'm doing.

And I believe it!

Also farm barn set is not worthy for me to purchase. I’m only interested in farm animals. I guess B&P will take a loooooooong time to be stocked…

I'm still trying to find a deal on the Bank and overpriced school. I got all the overpriced space based sets besides the rover. So later releases are fine by me.

Some sets seem to stay on shelves far longer than they should while other sets (like these new Farm sets and that supermarket) vanish off shelves far too fast.

LEGO should keep the new stuff on shelves longer while not keeping old stuff on shelves so long (sets like the Assembly Square, the Moon Lander and the Ford Mustang are too old and should have retired already IMO. Same with things like the Disney Castle that's finally retiring this year)

The retire sets aren't 100%. LEGO changes their minds. Ideas Treehouse and Assembly Square were supposed to retire years ago, never did. If sets sell well why would LEGO retire them?

Not sure if I follow you?

EDIT: after rereading many times, I got it now.

On eBay, they are going for as little at $87.

Anything less than 30% off isn't a deal.
