Private Neville noticed Captain Hardy approaching the spot where he stood. Neville had been standing there for the past two hours while a local Spudkirk artist sketched his portrait.

"I say, old chap", the captain said to Neville, "You've found the best light in camp! Mind if I set up right here next to you for my portrait?".

The captain's portraitist began setting up his easel.

OOC: Trying out some 8x8 round tiles as MOC bases. Also trying some partially-erased TLG red arms for use on infantry and officers.

It is a very great honor for Private Neville to stand next to Captain Hardy. I can see the happiness on his face.

I think the round base works out really well. Good to see the men getting themselves recorded in the history books!

Where did you get the hat for the Captain? I've seen it before but can't remember where I saw it.

Super presentation, as others have said, the trees are a great design! I feel the circular bases would be cool for a tabletop version of BotBS.

You're a big fan of that eraser, which I can't decide is a good or bad thing :pir_laugh2:

It must be good, as it means more redcoats!

Those little trees are so cute!  Excellent use of the circular plates too :pir-sweet:

Haha thanks. The tree designs are based off of Friends sets I got for my daughter

The hats are custom pad-prints from Brick Guild. You might still be able to get some on their site. They are some fun diversity. I've tried drawing custom emblems on plain black bicorns and it hasn't looked very good.

Love the fir trees. A bit of a duplo vibe, but still lovely.

Haha yeah they are a little simplistic, but fun little trees

Thanks! Yes I think it's a good thing. I'm not going to use Vidiyo or Batman pieces in their original form often, so modifying them to be more useful is A-OK by me :pir-grin:

Oh fun! Good call with the story.

Thanks! Seemed like a little silly thing to add a little color to our stopover point in Spudkirk

Fun little builds, really well photographed, and the round base works great!

Thanks @Kai NRG! I've been playing around with a new lightbox that @Ayrlego recommended. It helps a lot, though I'm still working out how to get the background completely white without washing out the white elements in the foreground (the backgrounds here are *almost* completely white :pir-grin:)

Yeah those bases are fun. I have a black 8x8 round tile too that could be fun for a non-grass base. Will have to think of a use!

Thanks! They are sold out, but I couldn't remember the website I saw them on for anything!

These are great! I love the stylistic trees. They work really well in this clean context, but perhaps they'd look too kiddy for an actual "realistic" MOC? The bases are also really slick and work so well for presentation.

You can easily incorporate those bases and figs in a board game! :pir-grin: Regarding photoshooting, I find the first pic almost "too white" compared to the other two that I find perfect.

Matt (the owner of Brick Guild) is pretty responsive to making custom things. I bet if you ask him he'd print some up for you!

Thanks @Khorne! Hoping to try a few other new things with the round bases

You are the master of red coats!

Haha thanks! I think @Ayrlego is the master of the redcoats. I do have a redcoattail post for you to check out though :pir-grin:

With the first picture it was a single shot at a higher exposure. With the second two pictures I took two photos in the same spot at different exposures and overlaid the darker foreground on the lighter background... while it took more editing work I agree the outcome of the individual shots is a little nicer.
