I wasn't able to get it last year, but I was planning to buy it along with Santa's Visit in, say, October of this year to have it in time for Christmas. Little did I suspect that it was going to vanish from Shop at Home at the end of July to make way for the new Christmas sets. It seemed like the kind of set that would be sold for years and years to come. Now it's going for $60 to hundreds of dollars on Bricklink. I realize it's just a simple matter of supply and demand, but is there any chance that someone would be willing to part with a used copy of 40499 for close to its original RRP of $35? I live in the western US. Thanks!
MAB Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 It might be better to wait until nearer Christmas, it might appear in retail stores again. There are plenty on the secondary market and unlikely to change price too much over the next few months. So waiting won't cost too much even if it doesn't come back.
