Impossible, he doesnt have the 3 toe thingies, the helmets are different, and the eight brother died from fall damage.

Not every animated character is going to be a 1:1 adaption in the jump to live action. Ahsoka, Cad Bane and Grand Inquisitor had their share of design changes made along with plenty of fan criticism towards some of those decisions. Not to mention plenty of characters survived far worse in Star Wars. The Eighth Brother's fall is pretty tame compared to Maul getting cut in two and dropped down a bottomless pit.

That is actually genius. More New Republic figures the better. (Just give us those goshdarn Fleet Troopers already)

If got 2 battle packs a year like we used too, a NR fleet troopers pack would be a shoe-in for 2024. As is, I'm not sure we'll get them at all.

Yeah, but like... why would they bring him back? This is almost certainly just a different dude with a similar helmet. Not to mention that minor changes to the face/montrals for budget reasons is different from just... changing the species.

The show is a sequel to Rebels and we still don't know what happened to Ahsoka during her time stranded on Malachor or how she escaped. If they plan to explore that period like TBOBF did with its flashbacks than that's reason enough why they might potentially bring him back.

Yeah we do, lol. Remember the whole World Between Worlds thing from Season 4?

Adn each of those species already had live action counterparts upon which the animation was based. Lucasfilm just got lazy (Shaak Ti, Cantina Duros, and Tion Medon).

Removing Eighth Brother's noticeable feet would be just that: laziness. Could he have survived? Sure. Is this him? Most certainly not.

And if we do get them, they won't have the proper boots (Navy/White). Speaking of, @Classic_Spaceman, is it possible to find out if any LBG/Black legs are in the Yavin set? I doubt the Pilots will () but the Fleet Troopers might.

Kanan sticks his lightsaber into grand inquisitor's hilt, grand inquisitor just stares at him, and than he falls off, every inquisitor on malacore made goofy sounds and goofy faces before dying, and the last guy from TotJ just deflates like hes a balloon, i don't keep up for the jedi games because i don't care for them, i might play them soon once im able to sell some stuff to afford a ps5.

ALSO, not to mention how in general, the inquisitors acted goofy, if you watcehd rebels, and you most likely did, you already know why.

I just rewatched the GI's death, and I see Kanan sticking the lightsabers through the hilt and the GI looking down as two things that happened at the same time, but were shown sequentially instead of concurrently. All characters in Rebels make somewhat goofy/exaggerated facial expressions simply due to the animation style, and I actually like the Sixth Brother's 'deflating' mask, since it makes wonder what he looks like underneath.

True, but why bring back such a minor character and change really the only distinctive thing about them, just for them to be a minor antagonist? I think that this is just a new character.

@wesker meant how she escaped after we see her enter the temple at the end of "Twilight of the Apprentice".

It does not seem like her fight with the Inquisitor is on Malachor, though.

The episode where Ezra pulls her out of Malachor, Palpatine shows up and she escapes through a magic portal back to Malachor? Last we saw she was still stranded on Malachor.

NR troopers' uniforms are closer to LEGO's regular blue than dark blue (and dual-moulded blue/white legs do exist, though are very rare).
I asked if the pilots in Yavin have dual-moulded legs, but u/FluffySky6 did not remember. I doubt that the Fleet Troopers would have grey/black legs, but those appear in the CMF raccoon costume from Series 22.

We see her walk into the temple on Malachor at the end of Rebels S2, then she reappears next (chronologically) in Mando S2 on Calodan.

Couldn't have said it better myself. There's just no reason for them to bring him back. The inquisitor in the trailer is almost certainly just a different guy who happens to have a similar helmet.

True, though that doesn't bother me as much. Better to have them available cheap than to have boots but they cost $20 a fig on bricklink.

Also, they look more like a standard blue in the trailer to me, and luckily, blue/white boots are readily available on bricklink (A guy's got 500 of em for a dollar each. If I was at all confident in getting a NR battle pack, I'd buy some now.)

In an effort to get back on topic, I don't think phantom 2 will be in the ghost, even if it is possible. I also agree that those other figures might be the ones flanking Hera in that image.

I think you're both right about the color scheme, more of a Royal Blue color if anything. But I have hope for them, eventually.

As to the Yavin figures, I know the boots already exist, just would be nice if Lego was consistent in giving us dual-molded legs. (They're always in the minifig towers at Lego stores for crying out loud).

Agreed - I am especially irritated that Imperial officers in non-UCS sets still do not have the dual-moulded legs that LEGO knows makes them look vastly better!

Hoth Bricks has a review up for the Endor diorama. Luke and Leia have black and sand blue printing on their legs, respectively, but I still think that the legs themselves should have been those colours and the ponchos should have been printed. Also, the speeder bikes are dark tan, not medium brown, as I had initially thought. 😕

More footage from Ahsoka shown at Celebration has leaked!
The Inquisitor is shown flying the same ship (or type of ship) as Shin is in the publicly-released trailer, so there seems to be a connection between the two characters.
On a highway on Lothal, Sabine flies a painted 614-AvA speeder bike under an E-wing (!!!), so that may be the NR ship that we are getting!

Woooooooooah!!! I wonder how comparable it'll be to the 2013 one

Just as an aside, Shin has a Padawan braid and appears to use Kanan's lightsaber (these can be seen in the main trailer),

an unarmoured Sabine and Shin duel (presumably) on Lothal (Sabine has Ezra's green lightsaber), Thrawn's uniform has the silver arrows on the collar as depicted in Rebels, what could possibly be an Omicron-class shuttle attacks as Ahsoka chases the Inquisitor following their duel seen in the main trailer, and the T-6 flies in front of a Purrgil.

Hopefully the shaping will be better, since the 2013 set has a sloped cockpit with an almost flat nose!

BTW, the E-wing in the Ahsoka footage appears to have blue markings (in the same place as the EU version had red), but no top cannon. I am actually very happy with this change, as the top-mounted blaster makes the old design look a bit goofy and weird.

It looks like this, but with blue in place of red, and no top blaster.

Yeah, I guess the old one was only really inspired by the EU ship anyway. Though technically, it's 100% accurate to the source material given that the exact model is the one in the Yoda Chronicles.

Pretty sure the phantom will be included with the ghost. The original combo of ghost/phantom was around 1.1k pieces or something, this set's up to 1.3k.

I think a larger ghost with no phantom is more likely, they can make money by doing they separately and just having them be compatible. Everyone who bought the ghost would be likely to get a phantom 2 set if there was a compatible one next year, and many who don't have the budget to get the ghost would get it so they are getting more sales this way and it could also include some more spoilery characters, allow for a more impressive finished build (the combo) and would allow them to include more figures across 2 sets than they would in 1. Plus maybe they'll include a Zeb in a phantom set.

I really hope the set will only include the Ghost. That piece count will be just enough to make a slightly bigger and more detailed version than the previous one, and maybe with a minimum of interior.

Nah, thats pretty much his alien anatomy, its like making cad bane have normal white eyes with pupils., it's literally the defining part of his design.

The stuff from Ahsoka is just reaffirming it’s my most highly anticipated show this year. I’m still in disbelief that the show is getting such good Lego coverage already this year.

I'm planning a post for the wishlist thread with some outlandish suggestions from the Expanded Universe because, well, it's a wishlist after all.

The funny part: in contained an E-Wing. I'm not one to have much faith anymore in the Filoniverse, especially when his own precious creations take such a central place in it, but I'm very happy about the inclusion of several characters and vehicles from the EU because that means a good chance of having good Lego designs for them. Fingers crossed that the Moldy Crow will find its way into whatever future series/movies (I'm wishlisting at the moment, bad Big_Daddy!). Anyway, I went from not really caring about that NR set to really hoping that the E-wing will be in it. If so, I just might forgive Lego for making the RGS a Coruscant Guard one.

I did like the trailer though. Seeing that it's a continuation of Rebels, a show that I loved, it makes me more hyped for the Ghost. And seeing the Phantom II as well makes me hopeful for a new version in Lego form.

Writing characters you wrote into a story you are writing, how heinous.

That's not what I meant. I love the character Ahsoka, Filoni actually did a great job initially, and of course she should be featured in the show that bears her name. It's just that ever since he's been doing his best cramming her in any series he could, showing a lack of balance in his writing. It's hard to blame him, it's not without reason for instance that 'killing your darlings' is an issue in writing. Not saying that he should kill Ahsoka off... yet. This series could be something good actually, and I'm saying that as someone who's highly skeptical about most things Disney Star Wars.

As for the compatibility between the Ghost and a possible Phantom II, I agree. If so, it should be visible when we see the finished set of the Ghost, which needs to have characteristics of being 'modular' in that case.

Posted

Personally, I'd rather get a small Phantom II included with the Ghost..the set's already gonna be really expensive it'll be super annoying to have to add it by waiting for it to be released later and spending more money to get it. Theres no reason why the ship cant have a good interior with the pieces allotted and not include the Phantom and 1300 pieces is a lot. But that's my take. No idea what they'll do but Id rather just get both in one.

Posted

I'd prefer they don't make a Phantom that's both Ghost-compatible and minifig-compatible. Doing so will compromise the design of the Ghost and, judging by the first incarnation, it looks goofy - even if it's a cool play feature.

imo The ideal compromise is a polybag sized Phantom build. ron_mcphatty has some nice Phantom microbuilds on his Rebrickable Ghost. It'd give us the deployment play feature, it'd look better, and it wouldn't take much away from the parts (or room for a potential interior).

Posted

Considering the piece count, I’d be very surprised if The Ghost does not have a Phantom build. I’m that confident that I think it’s almost inevitable.

But I am the person who was adamant the leaks on April Fools were fake, so what do I know!
